Without question. McCoy has quicker feet, but Spiller is faster and more explosive. He'll probably put on a clinic at the combine. As I've said before, Chris Johnson is making CJ Spiller a lot of money. The NFL is a copycat league. Teams are going to see the success Chris Johnson is having in Tennessee and think they can duplicate it with Spiller. I definitely think he has a chance to be a first round NFL draft pick.Man, CJ Spiller's game is absolutely filthy. I think he's the most explosive play maker at RB in this draft, and that includes if LeSean McCoy declares.

Yep, it didn't look good either. Doubt he plays next week, and if he does it'll be at far from 100%.Speaking of injuries, Harvin was hurt in today's game too, looked like an ankle sprain. He wasn't back in when I stopped watching at 35-9 and I doubt he came back in after that either.
I was thinking that too. Every time I see him play, which isn't very often, he impresses me.You don't hear alot of people talk about this guy much.....Glen Coffee 6'2" 1972008 STATS 220 1,347 10

A source has told BamaOnLine.com that running back Glen Coffee plans to submit his name to the NFL Draft Advisory Board for feedback on his draft status. The board projects draft status for any third-year college players who ask for it and is merely a precursor to a decision on whether to turn pro early. An application to the NFL Draft Advisory Board does not affect a player's NCAA eligibility nor obligate a player to leave school early, so there is no downside for any junior to apply for feedback. With a Sugar Bowl appearance pending, Coffee has already secured one of the top 10 rushing seasons in Alabama history with 1,347 yards on 220 carries. The junior from Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., averaged 6.1 yards per carry and scored 10 touchdowns, leading a Crimson Tide running game that helped key a 12-1 season and an appearance in the SEC Championship Game.

The Sooners have one of the most impressive OLines in college football history and I think they are all seniors. Could be a big blow to Bradford's numbers/value if he comes back for another year. Leinarts decision to return for his senior year cost him 8 digits. I don't see how Bradford's stock can go any higher than it is right now, especially with a good showing in the Florida game. I think you are right, Bradford will probably jump.Bradford to me sounds like he's going to enter the draft.

I'd have to assume this will mean Murray goes back to Oklahoma for 2009. This will be a pretty significant blow for Oklahoma heading into the game vs. Florida.NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma Sooners running back DeMarco Murray will have surgery to address a partial rupture of his left hamstring tendon and will not play in the FedEx BCS National Championship Game against Florida Gators on Jan. 8.
The school said that according to head trainer Scott Anderson, it will be about five months before Murray is cleared to resume training.
I wonder what this does for his chances of coming out/returning to school. Bradford to me sounds like he's going to enter the draft.
I was hoping he'd have a great game and come out, I doubt he will now being the 5 month recovery time, he won't even be ready for the combine and I think the combine is a big plus for Murray.I'd have to assume this will mean Murray goes back to Oklahoma for 2009. Someone mentioned that the Sooners Oline are all seniors, if that is true, that might persuade Murray to come out. Also, Michael Bush was hurt his entire senior season, and he declared, knowing he would likely be picked late in the draft. Fact is these guys have a shot to make $$, and thats hard to pass up unless your Matt Leinart and already rich.I was hoping he'd have a great game and come out, I doubt he will now being the 5 month recovery time, he won't even be ready for the combine and I think the combine is a big plus for Murray.I'd have to assume this will mean Murray goes back to Oklahoma for 2009. It is true that OU has all seniors on their Oline. That is one of the great reasons the unit has been so dominant this year. However, there could be a silver lining if Murray comes back and becomes a featured RB. OU has had great recruiting classes the past few years, so I'm sure they have plenty of talent in waiting along the Oline. Of course chemistry and experience will be a concern.Burning Sensation said:Someone mentioned that the Sooners Oline are all seniors, if that is true, that might persuade Murray to come out. Are we waiting for all three games?Because the MAC Championship was a DISASTER for Nate Davis! As a Husker faithful, I tip my hat to the fantastic coaching job by Turner Gill @ Buffalo. Taking over a team that won 6 games in the previous 5 seasons, combined. Gill gets the MAC title in year 3.Oh yeah, and to the Auburn alums who shunned him in favor of Gene Chizik, I say thank you on behlaf of TG & his wife.(assuming Sam Bradford does not declare) Nate Davis is the best QB prospect in the 2009 draft.Detailed analysis to come after tonight's game, the MAC Championship, and their Bowl game.If I forget, send me a message and remind me.
First bad performance I've seen from him, been casually watching him for two years.I don't go into detail about anyone until after the season, I have preliminary opinions but there's a lot of information that becomes available in January and February that can alter those opinions. Are we waiting for all three games?Because the MAC Championship was a DISASTER for Nate Davis! As a Husker faithful, I tip my hat to the fantastic coaching job by Turner Gill @ Buffalo. That seems like a step down on the coaching ladder to me, Hoke must be getting good money there.FWIW, it was all over local sports radio prior to the BSU/Buffalo game that Nate Davis was sick with the flu or something. He obviously went ahead and played, but it may at least in part explain his poor (OK horrid) performance. Also, BSU coach Brady Hoke has accepted the head coaching position at SDSU, so that may make Nate Davis more inclined to declare for the NFL draft.

Seems a lateral move to me, with potential for a larger payoff. A highly successful team in the Mountain West will get a lot more national attention and a better bowl than an equally successful MAC team. Right now SDSU sucks, but that's why they hired him. I'll expect to see him moving on up the NCAA ladder in the next few years after he makes SDSU respectable. He wouldnt have left his alma mater if it wasn't a better gig. That seems like a step down on the coaching ladder to me, Hoke must be getting good money there.FWIW, it was all over local sports radio prior to the BSU/Buffalo game that Nate Davis was sick with the flu or something. As a BSU grad, I am totally ticked at Ball State for letting Hoke (and as a result Nate Davis) get away. Some of you may know national columnist Jason Whitlock (KC newspaper and does some side work for ESPN as well). He is a BSU grad, played football for the Cardinals and is very close to the program. He has been RAILING against the BSU administration over letting Brady Hoke go. Supposedly the only things Hoke asked for from the administration was higher salaries for his assistants and better football offices and Ball State couldn't even promise him that.I fear that Ball State football will soon be back in the toilet once again.Seems a lateral move to me, with potential for a larger payoff. Jan. 15.Does anyone know when the deadline is this year for underclassmen to declare?Only potential Day 1 guys I see declaring from here on out among QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs are Sam Bradford, Nate Davis, Mark Sanchez, C.J. Spiller, Percy Harvin, Marshwan Gilyard, and Jermaine Gresham.Colt McCoy would be the top guy not to delcare, with Tebow being the most-hyped returning Senior.Brandon LaFell, Stafon Johnson are a couple guys I think also might give the NFL a shot.
I don't believe Michael Crabtree or Jeremy Maclin have made it "official" yet.Stafon Johnson has said recently that he's returning to school.Does anyone know when the deadline is this year for underclassmen to declare?Only potential Day 1 guys I see declaring from here on out among QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs are Sam Bradford, Nate Davis, Mark Sanchez, C.J. The only statements I can find for Stafon are from his Mom. She wants him to return to school, I assume she would be a big influence, but Stafon has only said he will consider the NFL.I don't believe Michael Crabtree or Jeremy Maclin have made it "official" yet.Stafon Johnson has said recently that he's returning to school.Does anyone know when the deadline is this year for underclassmen to declare?Only potential Day 1 guys I see declaring from here on out among QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs are Sam Bradford, Nate Davis, Mark Sanchez, C.J. Running back Stafon Johnson, who confirmed at the Rose Bowl he is returning to USC, received word he could be taken as high as the third round in the NFL draft. http://usc.freedomblogging.com/2009/01/08/...n-johnson/8190/The only statements I can find for Stafon are from his Mom. I don't know that much about LaFell, how is he different from Brandon Lloyd aside from being taller?11. Brandon LaFell* \ WR \ 6'3" \ 210 \ 4.54 \ Leaner Dwayne Bowe \ Can make tough catches, inconsistent hands
He's bigger, faster, a better deep threat given his speed and size, and he's not as big of a knucklehead. Lloyd is coordinated, but not very quick or fast given his size.I don't know that much about LaFell, how is he different from Brandon Lloyd aside from being taller?11. Both are good inside runners with at least enough speed to break long runs against college defenses. I think Coffee may have a bit more athleticism. Comparison style-wise I'll go with Ladell Betts for Brown. For Coffee, I haven't watched him enough to come up with an NFL comparison.I'd like to hear more about Coffee and Brown
thanks, so basically he's nothing like Lloyd except your comment after him. I realize a lot of WRs have that same problem, Lloyd is just the guy I think of when I hear it. (Rotoworld) Senior Bowl PR Director Kevin McDonald revealed that Javon Ringer will not participate in next week's pre-draft event due to a knee injury.Analysis: "We were told he had his knee scoped and would not be ready," McDonald said. Ringer, a projected first-round pick entering his senior season, was run into the ground by Mark Dantonio with 390 carries in 2008. He averaged only 2.9 YPC in the last four games and 4.1 for the season. Ringer had knee trouble in high school as well. This procedure is sure to affect his draft stock.
