I'd want to be team B.

14 team developmental player league (i.e. college players) with the following scoring: 0.5 ppr for RB, 1.0 ppr for WR, and 1.5 ppr for TE

Team A received: Nicks/Britt/2010 1.7 dev pick

Team B received: Marshall/Heath Miller/2012 2nd round rookie pick

I like the Marshall side of the deal. I prefer to get the best player in the deal (quality over quantity).

12 team league.... pick 1.13? Compensatory pick of some sort?
Yea, a compensatory pick for taking over a god awful team.
I don't see much of a difference this year between the 1.05 and 1.08 and the early second round is underwhelming, so I think it was a good move by Team A.

I am Team A and that was my thinking as well. I have been targetting 2011 1st's because it has a good chance to be a much better year. I should have the 1.01 and 3 picks in the 1.02-1.08 range next year.

I think it was a solid move by Team A, but I disagree there isn't much of a difference between 1.5 and 1.8. I think the top 5 will be (in no particular order) Matthews, Best, Spiller, Tate, and Bryant. I think there is a dropoff after that group.

12 team non-PPR...

Team A gets:

Fitz

Stafford

H.Ward

4.7

Team B gets:

1.1 (Matthews seems to be the pick)

1.12

Nicks

R.Bush

I was not involved in the trade, but love the blockbuster-ness of it. League was split on who got the better end, and a nice offseason debate arose. I was on the side of Team A getting the better end personally, but thought it was a nice trade all around.

ETA - Team A also got Hines Ward - I left that out initially.

Traded Jamaal Charles and 1.12 and 2.12 for 1.1. Non PPR.
I feel like that's a slight sell low that could also turn out well for you.If Charles turns out to be an end of the year flash in the pan, it looks good for you (assuming you hit on 1.1)If Charles is a STUD and you hit on 1.1, it still looks a bit bad for you.If Charles is a STUD and you miss on 1.1..........ooooof

I'm fortunate enough to have Rice, Wells, Addai, Lynch/Jackson, Portis left so I took a chance. And I love Charles, it was really hard for me to deal him. I just felt TJ and McCluster would erode his value this year.

And he'll eat away at the receptions that would have gone to Charles out of the backfield. Without all the receiving yards, and another RB in the mix I felt his value was at its highest.

Just traded my 2010 2.10 rookie pick for Lawrence Maroney. Needed a back...I thought that was cheap for what I feel will be the Patriots lead dog (whatever that means). And he is only 25. I think Maroney can be a deep sleeper and a useful RB3 this season again. I really did not care for anything left on the board at 2.10 (our draft is in progress).

How do you figure? The way I look at this trade is Schaub and Jackson for Crabtree, (one of Golden Tate, Benn, or Hardesty), (Gresham or Bradford), and some unknown middle of the road 1st. Sometimes you're too in love with rookies. Always putting upside over reason won't win you many leagues.

Just did another deal PPR...all my leagues are PPR.

Traded

Colston

2010 2.7

Recieved

Jamal Charles

2010 3.1

Needed a back bad....had good depth at WR

Starting line up after trade =

Brees

Charles

Turner

Fitz

Randy Moss

Steve Smith (car)

Hakeem Nicks

Winslow

I could also start Reggie Bush or LT in the flex over Nicks...all depends. But I viewed Nicks as my replacment for Colston...as early as this year. I think Nicks has stud written all over him. I just drafted Hardesty with my 1.7 so hopefully he works out in Brownie Land.

I'm guessing that this is a HyperActive league judging by the starting requirements. Schaub is a solid NFL QB and a standout FF QB, but he won't be a difference-maker in this format. Steven Jackson will only be 27 this season, but he plays a physical brand of football and has a ton of mileage. I see probably two more peak seasons from him at best. If he slips at all, his trade value will plummet. I wouldn't trade Crabtree for those two guys. Add in three 1st round rookie picks and it looks pretty lopsided to me. I think it really hinges on Jackson and how much he has left in the tank. If he ends up producing at a high level for another 3-4 years then this is definitely a solid deal for Team A. I just think he's too likely to break down.

Over the next 2-3 years...you have to draft like a champ for this trade to work.....Getting Jackson and Schaub for Crabtree...who has not proven a thing yet in what is going to look like a run heavy offense based on their 2010 draft...I like the jackson side.....late first rounders....tough to get blue chips down there. It's been done...but not often.

It's more like SJax and Schaub for Crabtree, Benn/one of the Tate's, Bradford and a 2011 1st. Giving the team SJax and Schaub probably means the 2011 1st won't be very high, but I still like the side getting Crabtree.

Everything you post just comes out in Kevin's voice in my head.Just read your quote above and put it in Kevin's voice. "Oscar...thats a great deal. I just offered the 5th pick in the first round for Benson and was rejected."Its not a funny quote, but when Kevin says it, it cracks me up.
