Dear NFL owners and players,We are what make the game as large as it is, and we take the disrespect from the NFL and NFLPA with a grain of salt for the majority. You are showing us how selfish you all are in a multi-BILLION dollar industry by playing legal games with each other with the hard earned money our interest, our passion, and our love for the logo on the helmets has provided to the game. This anticlimactic schedule releasing and draft is showing how we are still bowing down to the passion we have for our game, and yet we wait. We are the only ones who suffer, and we are the only ones who matter...as baseball and hockey has seen. It is more crucial then ever that this Lockout get settled now as its about the game, not the players, not the owners, but the fans and the game of FOOTBALL...and as we are starting to witness, the game is suffering. Without us fans providing the interest for the game, the NFL and NFLPA have nothing. So I ask this question that no one wants to answer, why are we the ones who suffer? Its insane how the NFL and NFLPA forget it would have no TV deals, no appearal sales, no ticket sales, no revenue...without us!Signed,Every NFL Fan (I think)

Any other leaks yet?Eagles-Bills In Toronto in November?http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/19/eagles-will-fly-to-toronto-in-november/
Not sure if this is common knowledge, but just found out the other day that the first game of the NFL season (the Thursday night game) always features the defending Super Bowl champ. So, this year it will be Packers vs. ????Rumors starting to come out of the Saints camp that the Thursday night opener will be NO @ GB.
Gotta assume its either that or CHI/GB...
I used to get excited about the schedule & the leaks......ho-hum.......'Football Critic said:Any other leaks yet?Eagles-Bills In Toronto in November?http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/19/eagles-will-fly-to-toronto-in-november/

Gotta love that trivia question waiting to happenrumor on detroit sports talk radio is
Chicago at Detroit Monday night October 10th. First Lions MNF game in Ford Field
This one proved to be true. Cleveland got only a token TNF game in Pittsburgh in prime time.Gotta love that trivia question waiting to happenrumor on detroit sports talk radio is

Week 17 is all divisional game again.Anyone know why they abandoned the approach last year were they tried they tried to schedule division games at the end of the season? Really bummed to see this no longer happening and instead see things like my Steelers open against the Ravens and than be done with them after their week 9 matchup.BTW-Steelers schedule is disgustingly hard to start. First 3 weeks of the season the go into Baltimore, Indy and Houston. Funny way of rewarding a SB participant.
Yea I don't know what I was thinking. I incorrectly thought last year the last 3 weeks were mainly inter division games but that was not the case.Week 17 is all divisional game again.Anyone know why they abandoned the approach last year were they tried they tried to schedule division games at the end of the season? what? Why is the week 16 and final Monday night game the same 2 teams ? I already seen the Atlanta/New Orleans game and it was great but I would like some of my other dynasty players to be involved in the final Monday night game this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARG
Hopefully SuperJohn96 will be doing his schedule grid again this year
Wow, hadn't noticed that. I have to think that the NFL is trying to help the franchise a bit here with two MNF home games - either that or they are seeing if fans are still interested. If either game struggles to sell out then the Jags to LA hype train gains momentum.Kinda shocked that the Jags got 2 home MNF games and an away Thurs night game. Two of those primetime games are in December. League has more confidence in Jags than most of their fans.
Kind of a head scratcher. It looks like the league is trying to help Jacksonville here. I'm not too sure that getting mauled by those three teams in primetime will help the team's image, though.Kinda shocked that the Jags got 2 home MNF games and an away Thurs night game. Two of those primetime games are in December. League has more confidence in Jags than most of their fans.
3 out of 4 home games out of the gate and no cold weather games after Chicago in November. If ever there was a good schedule....Chargers schedule:Wk Date Matchup TV Time 1 Sun, Sept. 11 Minnesota Vikings Fox 4:15 p.m.2 Sun, Sept. 18 at New England Patriots CBS 4:15 p.m. 3 Sun, Sept. 25 vs. Kansas City Chiefs CBS 4:05 p.m. 4 Sun, Oct. 2 vs. Miami Dolphins CBS 4:15 p.m. 5 Sun, Oct. 9 at Denver Broncos CBS 4:15 p.m. 6 Bye 7 Sun, Oct. 23 at New York Jets CBS 1 p.m. 8 Mon, Oct. 31 at Kansas City Chiefs ESPN 8:30 p.m. 9 Sun, Nov. 6 vs. Green Bay Packers FOX 4:15 p.m. 10 Thu, Nov. 10 vs. Oakland Raiders NFLN 8:20 p.m.11 Sun, Nov. 20 at Chicago Bears CBS 4:15 p.m. 12 Sun, Nov. 27 vs. Denver Broncos CBS 4:15 p.m. 13 Mon, Dec. 5 at Jacksonville Jaguars ESPN 8:30 p.m. 14 Sun, Dec. 11 vs. Buffalo Bills CBS 4:15 p.m. 15 Sun, Dec. 18 vs. Baltimore Ravens NBC 8:20 p.m. 16 Sat, Dec. 24 at Detroit Lions CBS 4:05 p.m. 17 Sun, Jan. 1 at Oakland Raiders CBS 4:15 p.m. NFL.com says it is the 9th hardest, with these teams combining for a 133-123 record last season. They only play one 1 pm EST game... the Jets game. That will be a tough game.Out of the gate, weeks 2 and 3 are tough. Facing the Pats away in week 2 would be tough for any team. And in the big picture, beating KC at home is a must have if they are going to have a great season. Lose to KC there, and they could be 1-2 to open and already trailing the field (again).Weeks 7-10 is a tough stretch. If they can come out of week 10 at 6-3 or better, they are set up for a great season.
please this schedule is way tougher than last years and the Bolts couldnt make the playoffs. Cannot afford another early season Norv let down. SD goes to the East alot this year, NYJ, NEPats, Chicago, Detroit and Jacksonville. BTW-Steelers schedule is digustingly easy to finish. Last 7 weeks of the season they get the Bengals and Browns twice to go along with the Chiefs, 49ers and Rams. Give me a break. Try being a Panther fan. Funny way of punishing the worst team in the league in '10 with the #1 toughest schedule.Anyone know why they abandoned the approach last year were they tried they tried to schedule division games at the end of the season? Really bummed to see this no longer happening and instead see things like my Steelers open against the Ravens and than be done with them after their week 9 matchup.

It could be because of the contigency plan to push the season back two weeks if the lockout looms deep into the offseason - this may give the NFL the option of moving the first two scheduled games to the end of the season and start with Week 3 in order to not have as many logistical nightmares (this way there would be no new "Week 2" (old Week 4) byes. Not sure how that affects Week 10 and Week 11 byes though excet for maybe to break the season up a little better if two games are added to the end (the old first two games).I wonder if there will be an explanation as to why the bye weeks don't start until Week 5 and no team is off Week 10.Interesting.
interesting. If that were to happen, Denver would play 5 of their last 6 games at home.It could be because of the contigency plan to push the season back two weeks if the lockout looms deep into the offseason - this may give the NFL the option of moving the first two scheduled games to the end of the season and start with Week 3 in order to not have as many logistical nightmares (this way there would be no new "Week 2" (old Week 4) byes. I'm sure you're just venting and know that there's no "punish." There's only formula. The Steelers and Ravens are both primed, at least schedule-wise, for successful years with the NFC West in the rotation for the first time in four years. I noticed that the Ratbirds also play the Bengals and Browns twice each over the last seven weeks of the season.'ukshane said:BTW-Steelers schedule is digustingly easy to finish. Conspiracy theories start to emerge:
2011 SCHEDULE NOTES
In what may be viewed as something of a hedge to the season starting late, in almost the entire time during the concept of the bye week, byes began in Week 4, expect for the hideous time when the league had an odd number of teams and there were bye weeks every week. There are two interesting indicators worked into the bye schedule. It doesn’t start until Week 5 and, for some reason, there are no byes in Week 10, yet four teams (Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans and Pittsburgh) have Week 11 off for a bye. Those of us who see conspiracy among anomalies see these two variations that lead us to believe there is a secondary schedule – which wasn’t released – that envisions how a 16-game, 17-week schedule could be played with the first week of the regular season being missed. As we see it, under this scenario, Week 1 games would be shifted to the final week of the regular season (much like the games scheduled for the weekend after the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedies were shuttled, the bye weeks would be condensed – Week 11 bye weeks would revert to Week 10 and the Week 5 bye weeks become the standard Week 4 beginning. It’s a theory that makes sense and could be a pre-ordained, Plan B option if nail-biting time comes and goes.
