2012-13 English Premier League Fantasy Football (1 Viewer)

I really wish the transfer window was closed before the season started. We never would have drafted Sinclair if he had already moved to Man City. :(

 
So it sounds like the Sunderland game is suspended/postponed. How does that work here? Doesn't count at all for this week or points added afterward or what?

Yeah, I saw that afterward. They didn't have that up there initially when I first asked. Once again I won't be even able to field 11 starters :(

Reading is going to have two consecutive non-game weeks
 
Probably benefits me since Adam Johnson likely wasn't going to get as much time since he just completed the transfer. Hopefully now he'll get more time and make more of an impact during the double play.

We are screwed too. We lost three players to this game and our opponent lost none. Shame too because we had a winnable game as our opponent, so far has not had a huge week.
 
Jmon hit a home run with Hazard. Of the 7 Chelsea goals so far, I think he has 6 assists and a goal.

Michu was not in the original list that is on the last page of the google doc because that list was generated before he was added to the web site (he signed in late July). There are a handful of players who fell into this category.

Eephus, do you have commissioner power to fix a mistake like this in the scoring?

I see that now. Thought I had a safe easy way to find if someone was available. I did glance at the team rosters as well when I saw he wasn't listed where he should have been on the player list page. That page is by far easier than looking through the whole draft or going team by team and looking at all their midfielders. I missed it when I did that as a backup. I guess that's the risk you take when you pick someone up. Just sucks that the scores will be screwed up. Hopefully it isn't enough to make a difference in the week. Worst part on my end was losing a free transfer and now having to burn another to fix it when I used our google player list to verify the move.

Huh??? Why is looking at the last page of the spreadsheet any easier than looking at the first page of the spreadhseet?

I think anyone who helped fill out the spreadsheet realized that people were picking players not yet listed on the web site/last page of the doc.

It happened. If it affects a H2H result, we'll have to manually adjust scores like we did last year.

You should adjust the total score no matter what before we forget, since total score is the tie breaker. Hopefully it won't affect the H2H game.

The player list is in a specific order. Position, cost, team. If I want to see if a Swansea midfielder worth 6.5 is available it takes three seconds. Doing it by the draft order would require looking at every single pick. By team roster would mean looking at every midfielder, which I did do as a safeguard, and made a mistake. And I did update the spreadsheet a few times. Not sure what you mean. Throughout the draft I used the "Player List" to see if anyone was in yellow to see if they were available.

Use the search function. And remember, the position lists were put together before we drafted. Lots of player movement after that.

:thumbup: Don't know why I didn't think of that. Shouldn't have trusted the spreadsheet to be accurate. Who knows who was maintaining that thing.

 
On a related note, this issue may have gone on for a while before anyone noticed it. What would be the rule if say no one noticed this for three games?

I know we said each persons weekly opponent was suppose to monitor the other team but the very first time this happened we missed it outside of a unrelated "pat on his back" post from Eephus.

Should we at least post our transfers in this thread so that everyone can see and problems can be fixed before they fester or would people prefer to keep their transfer hidden until game day and we just fix if we find later?

Always use the web site first since the available players and the players values are always changing. Then when you find some one interesting, just search the first page of the google doc or the first post in this thread to make sure he was not drafted. The last page of the spreadsheet was just a snap shot in time from before the draft started. At this point, it might be easier if Eephus just removed the last page in the spreadsheet so no one else gets confused.
