That's when you don't sell a player, usually.
That has been my experience. As an example, I own Sproles in 2 PPR leagues and before Week 1 last season I couldn't give him away - and I stresed as a selling point that he should be able to step in and put up numbers similar to what Reggie Bush had done in NO. I was turned down flat on 3 offers I made for what turned out in retrospect to be lesser players and I was even told by one owner not to make another offer because Sproles "represents no value."
Anyway, IMO if you can't get close to what you think is fair value for a player, it is better to hold, even if you are overstocked at that position (Sproles was my #5 RB at the time).
question.
Did you try and flip Sproles during the season? or where you contending and starting him?
I ask because I picked up sproles in a league during the season and some people said I overpaid, but I ending up winning it all. That to me is the bottom line.
And also wondering what his appropriate value is now, he is very hard to gauge. To me in PPR he has great value but the kicker is Ignram/Pierre/Ivory eat at his value too.
Interesting player to say the least
