if it came to that, I'm sure the dude could have just grabbed Pettigrew and got a much better pick from someone elseSome background, which I should've included the first time...Our league has 2 new owners that are conducting a dispersal draft. At the point of the trade, they were a little over halfway done. One guy had 2 TEs (Gates, F Davis) and the other guy had none. The best rookie pick available was an early 3rd. The guy w/ 2 TEs dealt me his dispersal pick that was on the clock for the 2.11. The other guy had planned to take Pettigrew.A lot of the trades here lately are really head scratching - to the point that this thread is helping me less and less for determining actual trade value. Some trades can be explained by the context of the league, but even if the owner was overstocked at the TE position, I would think he could have done better than the 2.11 - I dunno, perhaps Pettigrew was shopped around and that was the best offer.i cant really see any reason why someone would give up pettigrew for a late second. doesnt make sense12 team PPRA gave: 2.11B gave: Brandon Pettigrew![]()

Romo side wins easily.12 team PPRA gave: Rivers/Ford/2013 4thB gave: Romo/Hankerson/2013 2nd
I was the Rivers side on this one. Personally, I have Rivers higher than Romo and Ford/Hankerson fairly similar (I like Hankerson a bit more, but I'm pretty high on both). I am willing to give up the 2013 second for that upgrade. Care to provide feedback on why you think it was an clear loss for me? I am getting my feet wet in dynasty over the past few seasons, so anything that may give me perspective is great.I've never been one for hoarding picks, although I generally like to hang on to my first rounders. I did hate giving up Hankerson, but I have him in every other league I'm in...so it he blows up, I won't feel too badRomo side wins easily.12 team PPRA gave: Rivers/Ford/2013 4thB gave: Romo/Hankerson/2013 2nd

I like Hankerson more than Ford by quite a bit and I think Romo is going to have a huge year in 2012. I like him better than Rivers in fantasy. The only time I would take Rivers over Romo is if we only played fantasy football in December. ETA: Also, 2nd rounders can be very important in dynasty leagues. Don't you forget it. You don't just give them away. There has been many studs taken in the 2nd round of dynasty fantasy drafts.I was the Rivers side on this one. Freaking ouch to the team who traded Dez Bryant for that. That is a very very bad trade.Team A trades: Eli Manning, 17th pick in this year's rookie draft.Team B trades: Ben Rothlisberger, Dez Bryant.
What is the consensus on this one? I was the one that traded away Fitz. Guessing pretty even since there were no comments...Team A gives: Larry Fitz, 3.05Team B gives: Julio Jones, 2.04
Both are top 5 wrs in a dynasty Imo. Slight edge to Fitz so looks even to me.What is the consensus on this one? I was the one that traded away Fitz. Guessing pretty even since there were no comments...Team A gives: Larry Fitz, 3.05Team B gives: Julio Jones, 2.04
Maybe I'm odd but Calvin, Fitz, nicks, aj green and Julio are pretty easily my top 5 in a dynasty in some order.Julio top 5??? I'd say top 10, but not top 5. I thought it was fair.

When I was offered Big Ben and Dez in this deal I did an insta-accept. I like Eli a lot and Bryant seems to not be maturing as quickly as we hoped but as a team needed to add some youth at WR this was an easy add.'JohnnyU said:Freaking ouch to the team who traded Dez Bryant for that. Pretty close. The Fitz owner seems to be trading consistent proven numbers in Fitz for a young elite looking WR. I would feel more comfortable that Fitz will be a top 5 WR over the next 3 years but Julio has a chance to be just as good for 10 years.'Jaysports said:What is the consensus on this one? Zealots scoring, no ppr- I just traded Ben R & Dez B for
Eli Manning & 2012 2.06 pick
It was the quickest accept I've ever seen, so I guess I want to see if I highballed Eli. I had concerns about both Ben & Dez, plus I'm a bit of Manning homer. I can start Calvin, Fitzgerald, & Julio Jones at WR, so I didn't leave any holes there. With the extra 2nd I have a couple of pieces to get back into the 1st round now. What do you think about the trade?
I obviously made a mistake on this trade. I had already made it known that Ben & Dez were available for trade & got NO bites (at all). No question- I should've asked for more. I've already explained my reasoning though- I have concerns about Ben & Dez & I think Manning has elevated his game, has good pieces that should stay together for the next few years, & I am a fan. Considering their total points from this year (& discounting the future growth of Dez which I am uncertain about), Manning scored about 100 points more than Ben, Dez scored about 150, so that leaves a net loss of 50 points, which I am hopeful the pick & a piece or two will help me to recoup.ETA: No question it was a bad move. I didn't think it through enough when I sent it. I just hope it doesn't hurt me too bad in the long run.So I heard. When I was offered Big Ben and Dez in this deal I did an insta-accept.

I was actually surprised you did not get heavy interest in Dez Bryant when you made him available several weeks earlier. I wanted to make an offer but without a first round pick did not feel I had enough ammo. I wouldn't feel bad about it. As you said you got your QB upgrade. It was just an easy accept for me because I am getting pretty old at WR (counting heavily on Steve Smith and Colston).I obviously made a mistake on this trade. I didn't really like this trade when I saw it come through, but I understand your thinking on it at least. Then again, I could just be a little jealous because I wanted to get Gresham from you.Just did this:GAVEQB Ben RoethlisbergerTE Jermaine Gresham2013 3rd round rookie pickRECEIVEDQB Matt SchaubTE Chris Cooley2013 1st round rookie pickNot wild about giving up Gresham, as I think he has the potential to be a star, but I already have Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Graham on my roster. I felt Roethlisberger and Schaub was close to a push, and the draft pick should be more useful to me than a backup TE (albeit a very good one).

I think lesean and the 1.03 are on different planets in most scoring systems.I don't like the trade either, but it's hard to judge without knowing the particulars of the scoring format. I play in one league where passing yards and TDs count the same as rushing/receiving. In that format you have a rock solid top 3 of elite prospects in Luck, Richardson, and Blackmon. I don't think McCoy is worth THAT much more than the 1.03 pick. Fred Davis and two additional firsts is potentially a lot of value depending on how the draft picks are used.
