2013 ALDS Rays vs. Satan's Team (1 Viewer)

haven't been around for this game. someone give a quick rundown?
Trouble for both starters all game, lots of men on base for the Rays, but 3 double plays have killed them in the 1st, 7th, and 8th.

Red Sox jumping on Price first pitches, some good ABs, two solo home runs by Ortiz, one in the first to make it 2-0, the other in the eighth to make it 7-4.

Ellsbury on base three times -- two dunkers and a line drive -- and he has scored three runs. Pedroia two RBI's -- one on a double and one on a sac fly in the first.

Rays didn't have much trouble with Lackey, but weren't able to get many big hits. Biggest hit was James Loney's double, which came with two out and men on first and third, cutting a 5-1 defecit to about 5-3 in the 4th or 5th.

Escobar and Young have given the Red Sox fits. I think they've combined for four or five hits so far.

Sox pen is now the issue in this game. Going to have to go there a bit early.
4th best pen WAR in the majors
Guess I'm not Prospecting or Fangraphing well enough (used to love both sites) but that might be a lot of Uehara in there. The sort of talk around Boston is the problem with the bridge to the closer.

eta* You might be right, I'm just parroting what the local broadcast has been worried about for months.

I can't believe they haven't learned with Longoria. Insane.

*They were dead in the water, and you let their best hitter beat you

Listening to EEI will drive you nuts. If papi goes hitless in a game they'll dedicate 2 hours to talking about his decline and if they're hiding a potential injury. I used to stream Boston radio a while back but had to give it up. Maddening.

No excuse for giving Longoria anything to hit there. Buchholz falling apart right now. Time to get it going in the pen

Also adding that I may be in the minority but it's a damn embarrassment to the game of baseball that Tampa allows those damn cowbells. Say what you will about Boston fans but if some jackass brought a cowbell into fenway they'd be given a colonoscopy with it before the first inning was over

Heh. No EEI -- I only listen to them when I want to laugh at the Patriot homer coverage (today they insisted they'd take the Pats over Denver) -- more like NESN. I like their pen if they use Workman, etc. But it's still early, and the strength is their starting pitching, I think.

Regardless, if you told me we'd be tied through five and up 2-0 in the series, I'd take it.

Indeed. Tampa always scares me. Lot of young talent that matches up well against boston and Maddon is arguably the best manager in the game.

I know I'm posting a lot, but wotthehell...Drew is due.
All good. This is really the first chance I've had time to gamechat™ this postseason. Happen to be home and on the laptop doing some web updates for a buddy.

EDIT: Wow... Clay was not getting that corner 2 innings ago

:lmao: wow... it's come to the point that longoria gets a curtain call in a 5th inning tie up HR?
Oh yea that definitely wouldn't happen at Fenway or anything. Those fans cum their pants off fly balls to center.
I'll take a link to the last time someone got (and accepted) a curtain call in the 5th inning for anything, let alone something that didn't involve taking the lead or a historical milestone. I'll hang up and listen.

You can wait till the end of the game though so you don't have to put down your cowbell ;)

Whoo boy. Bad call.

*hate that. Also hate taking Ortiz out.
Went back frame by frame on DVR... looks like the tip of the glove barely caught him as his hand was about 1-2" from the bag. I think they had him but frame by frame it was actually closer than it looks at full speed. Bad call though.

I walked away from the game for 10 minutes and missed one batter. I can see why people don't like this ####.

You want me to go review Red Sox game tape or something? :lmao: Don't hold your breath.

Cappy and Icon #####ing each other out during a playoff game? Feels like 2004 again up in here!

Just need ThisGuy to make an appearance, and I'll be brimming with nostalgia

3-run homer to tie a playoff game isn't a big moment and deserves a curtain call? Ok dude. :loco:

Curtain calls for that clutch 2nd inning single to put the Rays up 1-0? No brainer

later in the game, maybe... unless you've got a cowbell. Then anytime's the right time for a curtain call!

Rays catchin a damn nice string of breaks there. Workman with some huge high-leverage outs here.

:lmao: at the powder blue pom poms to go with the powder blue cowbells. Holy ####...

Is the Trop the world's biggest Chuck e Cheese or a MLB stadium. Jesus. :lmao:
