2013 Hall of Fame Induction thread (1 Viewer)

I hate Sapp even more because I will not listen to one second of that ignorant wife beater's speech. It is so hard for me to even watch NFLN because of Sapp, Irvin and Dukes, over opinionated loud mouth morons, and yes that is how I really feel. :-)

I will watch Carter's unless he starts babbling too much and going overboard the way he love's to do. The best part of this weekend is that the NFL season is just around the corner.
Did I miss this?
He was arrested for domestic battery in 2010. Roughed up (I believe) his girlfriend.

Anyone visited the hall recently? I'm wondering if they've fixed the Walter Payton display. When I went they had Payton's uniform on a dark skinned mannequin that looked more like Mr. Kotter than Walter. they should be embarrassed they ever put that up.

I googled it and the wife beater comment is over the top. Most here don't know any of the players, enjoy what they do on the field only.

Fair enough. Let us know why he was arrested then. Probably just a mixup.

Lol. I wasn't there. Were you? Was he convicted?

Plus it wasn't his wife

I never said it was his wife.Anyway, let's move on.

Nice job by Sapp. Time for the headliner...

If Carter doesn't have one of the Top-3 All-Time HOF speeches, I'll eat my hat.

Sorry, I didn't mean you.

This is a great class.

One of the things about BP that I always loved was how he could make us fans appreciate someone we might not normally appreciate-lunchpail types like Jim Burt for example. I don't think anyone has ever discussed the long snapper position as much as BP.

One of my favorite characterizations he used was describing OL as street fighters. That's stuck and many have since, but it fits real well. If ever he didn't have a good backup OL he'd sign a "street fighter" rather than some "turnstile" like many teams used to do.

How about we celebrate careers instead of constantly whining about what jerks these people are?

If the mirror was turned around on you guys I'm sure the comments would be interesting.

These are the NFL Hall of Fame inductees for 2013, how about we celebrate their careers instead of tearing them down like #####y women?

Or have I looked this thread up on needleworkgals.com?

Parcells going in as a Giant or multi-teamed?
Nobody goes into the HOF as a member of any team. Not how it works.
#1 the HOF website has players listed by team and

#2 the statues have the team underneath them. The teams are definitely prominent.

Parcells is considered a Giant and he is acknowledged on his other teams.
That's interesting that he went in as a Giant.

I always wondered if he had issues with moving. A large part of his career he coached 3 teams-two in same building and one four hours away. I remember reading of other offers yet he would choose to stay near.

I read some books about him that didn't cover this topic, but I've often wondered what really went down when he left some teams. The bitterness was so high and it was like he hired a lawyer to find a loophole in the rules to get him out or somesuch. The jets departure was so very odd. Wasn't BB the coach of the Jets for like a morning, then he resigned? I guess he wanted out, the owner said no way, and things happened. I would have liked to hear the whole story though.

I wish more teams used the FB as BP did. I don't think many teams use that position well nowadays. He had a way of putting a player in at FB that fans would totally root for and he'd be an extra part of the offense whereas today many teams use them just as a more mobile OL that lines up behind the QB. At times, BB did. Gibbs and Holmgren always had excellent FBs and...this is an underused position in today's NFL IMO.

Parcells dealing with young Keyshawn was so entertaining. If ever there was a drafted player that thought he was king of the world it was Keyshawn. No name Wayne Chrebet performing better than him in camp some days just added to this whole interaction between the two.

Sidenote- there's a lot of people that used to go to these boards (some still do) that had BPs brother as a ref to their basketball games in high school. Weird so many that went here had him ref their games, odd we all remember so many years later. Who remembers a ref?
