...any final thoughts folks? Ridge? Cobalt? Wannabe? Steady? Others....?
I'm bracing myself for disaster. That said, I think we'll come out of this ok. While I railed against the 2009 draft for repeatedly trading down, I think there's a possibility this might be the best decision come pick 18. Totally agree with you that if Cooper or Warmack are available and we don't take them, I give up. But, otherwise, there's a really solid chance we could pick up an extra 3rd or 4th that would be really helpful by trading down and still get impact players at the bottom of the first and with our 2nd round pick. Trade down, perhaps, and get Long late in the first...would love to see something like that play out.Ultimately, this is what I want to see some combination of...THURSDAYWarmack, Cooper, Richardson, or trade down, and under no circumstances FlukerFRIDAYLong, Pugh, Short, Moore, Cyprien, Fredrick, Sio, Michaels, Wheaton, BellSATURDAYBray (I know, I know, but I'm intrigued), Quessenberry, McDonald (S), Gholston, Lattimore, Thomas (S), Faulk

New name enters the mix? Really I think they just need to go BPA within the group of safety, DL, pass rusher, or OL and they'll be fine. Trade down a bit if possible but I don't think this is a year to trade up.

Sylvester Williams - DL - Player
According to TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline, "insiders believe" North Carolina DT Sylvester Williams will be the Cowboys' pick at No. 18.
That is, assuming Texas S Kenny Vaccaro doesn't fall. Williams hasn't generated as much buzz as some of the draft's other defensive tackles, but has long been near the top of big boards. His selection would likely punch DT Jay Ratliff's ticket out of Big D.

Neither of those guys will be pics, and love vaccaro, but I just don't see it.

I think there's a greater lack of clarity in what Dallas will be able to do this year than in many previous. The lack of elite talent at the top makes the selection order much harder to estimate than usual. As a result, its total guesswork as to what would be available when they are on the clock.

The visits have historically been a strong indicator of draft intent for them. And this year, they loaded up on OL early, safety throughout, and DL early to mid. RB/WR/OLB mid to late. Based upon the visits, I'd have to think that they won't leave round 2 without taking at least 1 OL. And with the other visits lined up with rounds, you can see them going some combination of:

OL/DL/S in rounds 1-3. RB in round 4 or 5. But if a value at other positions (namely WR or LB) drops, they'll move off that general template.

Should be a fun few days to see how it plays out.

I think trading up in this draft is one of the dumbest decisions ever. We could trade down and grab another 2nd rounder and fill more holes. We could easily get a Safety and a Guard in the 2nd.

I would like to come out of this draft with: not necissarily in this order

Guard- at least one

Tackle- at least one

Safety

RB-need a quality backup RB that can fill in when Murray gets hurt. There are plenty of them in this draft.

QB- a guy to groom- would love to get Landry Jones or the guy from Arkansas

Not sure about DL. I know we have been taking one in several mocks but how do we know if the guys we have are any good yet until we see them play in this system? We have a couple of young guys there, maybe they will be better in this new system. I think getting a safety that can run the defense is a lot more important.

I got an idea, how about you pick your spot and make the best pick you can. Crazy idea. Save this moving around bull#### for Day3 or whatever the last day is now.

I am hearing we have called a team about trading up. I am a little scared.
JJ is in charge. Be afraid, be very afraid.
I'm afraid as well knowing Jerra. However, this is all posturing for tonight.

IF it looks as if someone the Boys are targeting is close to #18,

it makes sense for the Boys to know who might want to trade now

before they actually get on the clock.

I think they are just putting out feelers in case something happens tonight.

Can't wait :D going to be fun!

My final prediction:

1. DT Richardson

2. OL Pugh

3. S Wilcox

4. RB Bell (or Lattimore, such a Jerry pick)

5. QB Renfree

6. WR Boyce

Is Floyd in play to trade up? The top 3 DT's are still in play which suggests this pick should be defense given how it has played out so far. I can't imagine we go QB or TE but wouldn't shock me either ... pretty much anything but RB and WR are in play here.

I think WR is much more likely than QB or TE-both of which would shock me. I saw a mock that had them taking Cordarelle, though I think that's unlikely.Got to be DT or Safety, though I think OL was the biggest need.

Ugh just as unhappy as Jets fans haha. Is there ANY chance we take Geno and let him sit for a year or two if a run on DT's and safeties means we miss the tier? Woulda been nice for us had they taken Geno.

If one of Vacarro or Floyd make it to us they're the choice ... if both ... tough call. If neither ... ugh ... hopefully Bills take a QB and the Steelers go WR or RB. Saints are going defense I'd think.

There is no explaining this horrible ### decision away. This management sucks. Floyd on the board, a top 5 guy who fits their system or a STUD safety and they trade it away and only get a FLIPPIN' 3rd?

Idiots.

This is why 8-8 is all we are going to see with these ### clowns. So pissed.

Obviously Reid is a stud. San Fran traded up to get him. Maybe that should have been a hint since they were in the damn super bowl last year.

Such a moronic bunch of jack offs.
