2013 Rookie Draft Projections (1 Viewer)

I'm aware of this thread, but it's a lot to wade through, and its focus is broader than this one. If I'm missing another thread, sorry about that...

What are people projecting pre-draft for 2013 dynasty rookie drafts? Where are the tier breaks?

Lots of missing data points right now. We don't know who's in the draft. We don't have combine numbers. The All-Star games haven't happened yet. Having said that, here's a rough stab at where these guys are likely to go:

Round 1

QB Geno Smith, West Virginia

QB Matt Barkley, USC

WR Keenan Allen, Cal

TE Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame

Rounds 1-2

QB Ryan Nassib, Syracuse

QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas

RB Eddie Lacy, Alabama

RB Gio Bernard, UNC

WR Justin Hunter, Tennessee

WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee

WR Tavon Austin, West Virginia

WR Robert Woods, USC

WR Terrance Williams, Baylor

TE Zach Ertz, Stanford

Rounds 2-4

QB Tyler Bray, Tennessee

RB Stepfan Taylor, Stanford

RB Montee Ball, Wisconsin

RB Andre Ellington, Clemson

RB LeVeon Bell, Michigan State

RB Joseph Randle, Oklahoma State

WR Marcus Davis, Virginia Tech

WR Markus Wheaton, Oregon State

WR Quinton Patton, Louisiana Tech

WR Da'Rick Rogers, Tennessee Tech

WR DeAndre Hopkins, Clemson

WR Stedman Bailey, West Virginia

WR Tavarres King, Georgia

WR Marquess Wilson, Washington State

TE Jordan Reed, Florida

TE Dion Sims, Michigan State

From there you can get a rough idea of what the rookie drafts might look like.

There are a few wild cards though. Zach Ertz is not a lock to declare from what I've read. Marcus Lattimore could be a factor in the first three rounds if a team is sold on his talent and long term health. I think we'll see FF teams reach for him in the top 8-15 picks of rookie drafts based on his reputation. And then there's Michael Dyer, who I rate as the best pure talent at RB or WR in the draft. He has been out of football for the year, but could still conceivably be part of this class.

Thanks, EBF. I see Mike Gillislee, Kenjon Barner, Christine Michael, Knile Davis, and Dennis Johnson sneaking into rankings as I'm looking around at various sites, but your list of top RBs seems to be the consensus.

I haven't started looking at the other positions yet, and I have no feel for tiers between positions... thanks for posting yours.

Wasn't sure how to approach this, so I veered away, but EBF's format looks like the best one to use...right now anyway. Mostly the same, deleted a few of the 2-4's I don't like and added some of my own, shifted some of the 1's and 1-2's down too. Some additions won't declare though.

I like Gillislee and Barner, Gillislee a lot more. Passing game asset, solid runner too, rugged, durable. Barner needs space to function, great at it, but he goes down too easily. Limited fantasy asset because of it. Michael's probably too one dimensional, and not an overly valuable skill, to be drafted too early. Barner's more valuable in the NFL because his skills are passing game and open field related, Michael's a between the tackles beast - about a decade and a half later. Johnson is JAG and Davis hasn't been right since he started getting injured.
