I hope OJ sticks around for a little while, and that we can get Bonzai in here... I have meetings all day, so can't check in continuously. Send me a PM when up though, I have my pick ready.

Send me a list, promise not to draft Downing for you....

Graziano Pelle FWD Soton
This is the most intriguing pick so far, IMO. My first thought was "hmm, Jozy hasn't made me trust prolific Eredivisie strikers." But then I checked and Pelle has scored 50 goals in 57 games for Feyenoord in the past two seasons. Pretty, pretty good.
Agreed. We had him on our long list, but his midfield support seems like a big unknown for obvious reasons.

I was about to take him off that list, but I saw someone took him. I played a FIFA game as Feyenoord last night and this guy ####inf sucks. Acceleration 57. Fine. I'll wip in some crosses for him. Nope. He sucks. Terrible pick, imo.

My biggest lesson last year was that you need consistent starters. I would rather have Pelle than a lot of other players I've already seen picked. There are risks everywhere, but there is nothing worse than two or three of your key starters resting after a CL week. One I figured that out I did a lot better.

The no autosubs rule devalues rotation players for the big clubs. If you can start 11 fantasy players who start in real-life, you have a floor of 22 points, which will keep you in contention most gameweeks.

I think its very hard to count on any striker making more than 30 appearances. You have to go with your best guess for that. Guys who look like the #1s are routinely dropped after going scoreless a few games in a row.

For midfielders and defenders, I absolutely look to appearances and then almost exclusively to team stats. I want midfielders for teams that create chances and I want defenders and keepers for teams that prevent chances.

This team(came out 't!ts teen' on my phone  ) had 3 defenders in the top 21 outfielders...two of those will drop a lot imo, this guy will pick up the slack

3.04 Filipe Luis, D, Chelsea

Love that Gator is avoiding all the Liverpool players and picking the Chelsea boys instead. He knows where the true value lies.
