I just looked at the rules and it says there are playoffs set up for weeks 37 & 38.
And it says line-ups are locked 1 hour before each payer's game. If we have the ability it should be 1 minute. There's no reason not to let us hear the teams' line-ups before setting ours. In fact, it's dumb if we have the ability.
And I still think we should flip tie-breakers 1 & 2. The rankings should be based on the effort over the entire year rather than only games against those we are tied with.

Seriously - no point in making the deadline 1-hour earlier - might as well make it Friday. Seems silly not to allow line-up changes based on actual game line-ups. Given that most line-ups are released right around an hour before games, too much to check if you have multiple players, and need to fix line-ups.

Agreed. The whole complaint about lack of auto-subs is fixed with this.
And again, if WC people are at an unfair advantage as a result, I'd vote that we allow them to sub in their best bench player for the early game if their starter wasn't in and they couldn't change it due to the early time. I think this would happen MAYBE 5 times over the course of the whole season. How many west coast people are there anyway?

Well, lets not make any changes this year then.
Put the deadline back to what it was, and we can discuss for next season. But, if we are going to make any changes from last season, lets discuss before we arbitrarily decide on which changes to implement.
I know I am being kind of an ####### here - and for that I apologize - but it seems the rules have been changed, but for no apparent purpose.

I missed the 2014/2015 thread where we locked the 17th round and changed it to a free-for-all too!
Trying to change little rules here and there each year isn't really the goal of this discussion. In fact, I have enough of that with other leagues that this one is nice in that it just happens and that's it.
But, we moved to Fantrax last year and it was a HUGE improvement with the exception of losing auto-subs. With locked lineups, teams are getting 0's that they could otherwise fix. This is such an easy and basic fix that eliminates all of that.
Unfortunately, the league is based in a time zone that makes it hard for us here in the US. But, even for me in CST, the early games start at 6:30am for me. I'd have to get up at 6am to look over lineups and get changes in if I wanted to. I don't have that much more of an advantage than the WC in doing so. And that's for 1-2 games each week out of 10. It matters so much more for the other 8-9, that if I happen to actually have someone going in the early game AND they happen to be a late scratch AND it actually makes a difference, that loss is easily made up for being able to actually get the right players in the rest of the matchups during the week.
On top of that, it seems the majority of us in the league want this to be in place too.
There's actually another even easier fix if we're worried about the disadvantage that the West Coast people would have. It probably can't be policed, but I think we could all agree not to make any lineup changes for the early games and be gentlemanly enough to abide by it. Set the deadline for 1 min prior to start time but we all just agree to set the early games the night before and leave it. Advantage fixed and best lineups across the board as it's intended for the rest of the games when we all have a shot to adjust our lineups.
I'd rather get it wrong for 1-2 games and get it right for 8-9 than get it wrong for all 10 (which is what the 1 hour deadline does since lineups aren't out that early usually).

I think the rule assumes that West Coasters can't (and shouldn't) be expected to check their Twitter feeds at that hour.As a west coaster I don't see the big deal if lineups are due 1min before the game. I think the most valid point made during the draft was that the rules changes impacted player values and draft strategy, i.e. rotational guys get an upgrade with a gametime deadline. There's no way to get that genie back into the bottle so I think we have to maintain the status quo for this season.
The only question is whether to have a single deadline one hour before kickoff of the gameweek opener, or before each individual game.

I may not be as dedicated as the rest of you - but, I am not checking twitter feeds two hours before a game looking for line-up rumors that may or may not be true. So, I guess thats why I don't understand the reasoning behind moving it to 1 hour - what purpose does it serve?
