Team Holloway Summary

QB 1 - Nick Foles QB8 5.12 (7)

QB 2 - Shaun Hill QB33 13.12 (4)

I feel like Nick Foles, along with Brady 5.5 and Ryan 5.6 were among the best value picks in this draft. I was actually targeting Brady, but was really happy to take Foles as QB8. I expect the Eagles offense to be very strong again this year and could pass even more often than a year ago. I was considering taking Rivers as my QB2, but he was snagged one pick ahead of me at 7.11. Was actually hoping for Bradford late, but when he and a host of others went in the late 10th and early 11th, I decided to wait till the very end. Would have likely taken Bortles, but thought that Hill could hold the job all season and took him at 13.12. I like the Rams' offensive line and receivers and they could surprise, even with the loss of Bradford. Current DD rankings place me 7th for QBs.

RB1 Arian Foster RB11 2.5 (10)

RB2 Pierre Thomas RB30 6.5 (6)

RB3 Knowshon Moreno RB42 9.12 (5)

RB4 Jacquizz Rodgers RB60 14.5 (9)

Considering the fact that I waited and waited on RBs, after taking Foster did not leave my cupboard as bare as it might have. Thomas has apparently been shuffled to third on the depth chart for the Saints but I expect him to catch a lot of passes again this year and perhaps be more involved in the running game than most anticipate. He caught the NFL high of 77 passes for RBs a year ago, even while Sproles was there. Moreno has been cast to the side almost as much as he was a year ago. He definitely does not have the upside of his numbers last year as the Dolphins offensive line continues to struggle, but I will not be surprised if he outperforms Miller who was drafted more than four rounds earlier. Rodgers has been the forgotten man in Atlanta as most are on the Devonta Freeman bandwagon. Rodgers has caught over 50 passes in each of the past two seasons and could continue to play that role with the Falcons this year.

WR1 A. J. Green WR4 1.12 (4)

WR2 Roddy White WR17 3.12 (9)

WR3 Dwayne Bowe WR42 7.12 (6)

WR4 Hakeem Nicks WR47 8.5 (10)

WR5 Kenny Britt WR59 10.5 (4)

WR6 Brian Quick WR87 17.12 (4)

Got a solid start with Green and White and then added four guys that are all capable of big days occasionally. I have three WRs that are off on week 4. along with a QB, a TE, my only kicker and a DST. Could really use immunity in week 3 or hope to have some big days from Folesand the RBs. I like this group of six that has a solid two man anchor and four wild cards.

TE1 Greg Olsen TE7 4.5 (12)

TE2 Mychal Rivera TE31 15.12 (5)

TE3 Zach Miller TE36 18.5 (4)

I like Olsen to be Newton's top receiver this year and then got caught waiting too long and added two hopefuls very late.

PK1 Mike Nugent PK 16.5 (4)

Only took one as I wanted to add depth at other positions. Definitely should have been a different bye week, but was looking for an early week, just neglected to see how many others I already had out in week 4.

DST1 St, Louis DST2 11.12 (4)

DST2 San Francisco DST5 12.5 (8)

I wanted to get a top defense, but again matched up the week 4 bye. Both the Rams and 49ers have had some injury losses and these two might not be the advantage I was seeking taking two early. To be honest, I was on the road during the weekend and did not have a lot of time to prepare and might could have made better picks in the 11th & 12th rounds. It seemed like I was struggling to make up ground from this point till the end.

Good Luck all in this league and all season. Will enjoy checking in on these survivors through the season, which is gladly upon us.

QB - RG3 10 6th, Dalton 4 7th

RG3 in the 6th was a gift. Thought I was going to be hosed at QB by waiting, but when I added Dalton the next round this became a strength.

RB - Bernard 4 2nd, Gore 8 5th, Stewart 12 10th, Grimes 10 11th, Anderson 4 18th

First time Bernard owner here. Really wanted to try something different as I usually get Cobb here. Not excited about the Gore pick, just didn't want to get buried at RB like I usually do. Didn't see much value at RB until the 10th when I grabbed Stewart. Never been a fan, but I've loaded up on him this year. DWilly has lost a step this year. Not sure why I took Grimes and not real excited about this pick. Anderson a shot in the dark.

WR - Jones 9 1st, Harvin 4 3rd, Matthews 7 8th, Smith 11 9th, Brown 11 17th, Dobson 10 12th

No need to discuss Jones. I've acquired Harvin so many times this year I should be his agent. I still feel he'll be right there with Marshall/Jeffery/Cobb/Nelson at the end of the year knocking on the door of a WR5 finish. Didn't like the Matthews pick 5 seconds after I submitted it. Should have been Pierce or Sproles. Smith is way under valued and will be huge this year. Torn up the last pre-season game. Would shock me to see him out produce T. Smith. Brown is a cheap handcuff and offers value late. First time I've owned Dobson. Hoping he becomes one of those guys who can contribute big late

TE - Davis 8 4th, Toilolo 9 14th

Geez, Davis goes in the 2nd round / early 3rd in the in the early drafts and now I get him in the 4th round. Toilolo doesn't have competition and should put up a few points each week

D - Balt 11 15th, Indy 10 16th

Usually I jump on a stud defense early. Decided to wait on two middle of the road Ds this iteration.

K - Crosby 9 13th

Grabbed Crosby early because his bye was a good fit. I've been rolling with one kicker in these leagues but had planned on going two this time. When I got to the last round, I didn't see a single kicker I liked. Lots of camp battles going on.

I really don't see any serious weaknesses with this team. That said, it doesn't feel like a winner.

STINKIN REF:

Being almost the last survivor/anarchy of the year and having the 16th pick I went away from my normal approach.

7.16 Carson Palmer QB AZ 4

8.01 Ryan Tannehill QB MIA 5

Decided to wait on QB and after watching some AZ preseason action, I felt pretty good about the volume of passing attempts in AZ this year so they were a target I thought I could get late. High volume with talent on the receiving end could have Palmer having one of those end of the career magical years. Would not be surprised by top 10 fantasy finish. Went ahead and doubled up with another guy who should see his numbers increase. I like this combo at this price.

1.16 DeMarco Murray RB DAL 11

2.01 Montee Ball RB DEN 4

11.16 LaGarrette Blount RB PIT 12

14.01 Ronnie HIllman RB DEN 4

Decided to go back to back with the top guys of the second tier and try to at least early make this a position of strength since it is usually my biggest weakness. I've been grabbing Blount in a lot of these for some time now as I think many people were impressed by how he finished last year and I think his role will be bigger in PIT then what some people think. I think that has shown to be proven true a little bit so far and Blount is a reason you will see L. Bell on zero of my teams. Blount is not your normal "back up" or RB2 on a team. In this format, I think he is a steal and an ideal candidate to add to your RB group at a very cheap price, The kind of guy I like to target in these at RB. Hillman has some stand alone value just cause he plays for DEN and he seems to have a stranglehold on the RB2 spot, which in DEN, can produce somewhat significant fantasy weeks. A guy like Hillman getting into the endzone in garbage time when DEN is blowing somebody out and they are spelling Ball, can count some weeks. We all may scramble for RB2 points most weeks.

3.16 Michael Crabtree WR SF 8

6.01 Justin Hunter WR TEN 9

9.16 Marqise Lee WR JAC 11

10.01 Cody Latimer WR DEN 4

12.01 Rod Streater WR OAK 5

13.16 Mohamed Sanu WR CIN 4

I all in on Hunter this year, just wish I would have been in some of the earlier drafts. Swung for the fences at the 9/10 turn after watching a JAC game and seeing what I thought looked like significant playing time for Lee. Latimer could end up being SOD. Sanders having trouble staying on the field and I made this pick prior to Welker's latest concussion, but after seeing him quietly be "excused" from a couple practices. Streater is meh, but should start and Sanu looks like he has been pretty beastly so far this camp/preseason. Injury to Jones makes him significant for a while. Looks like he has beefed up a little too muscle wise, not that that really means anything. He just looks bigger and playing more physical which is usually a good thing.

4.01 Jason Witten TE DAL 11

5.16 Zach Ertz TE PHI 7

Real solid here and went this direction even though some of the other guys I really like were still available. Kind of not wanting to put all my eggs in one basket thing. I actually prefer Ertz over Witten, but as is often the case you let ADP dictate how/in what order you take guys. I have Cameron and Davis almost on my do not draft list this year. I have Ertz, Rudolph Witten and Green behind the big 3 followed by Reed or mixing in Reed. I think Ertz outperforms his draft position in a big way and solidifies a top 5 ranking going into next year.

16.01 Nate Freese PK DET 9

17.16 Nick Folk PK NYJ 11

15.16 Green Bay DST 9

18.01 San Diego DST 10

Felt good about being able to get these positions filled pretty easily with my last 4 picks. Knowing I had the last pick of 17 and first pick of 18 allowed me to not really have to do that last round dance and worry if somebody would go 3 DST or whatever.

Overall: I have some holes and my 9/10 turn of Lee/Latimer could make or break me. I'm kind of on fantasy information overload at this point and have only one major at home draft left. I kind of just want to be done and watch some football.

Good luck (not really, I don't know why people say that).... :banned:

So I load of Dri Archer and Mike Tolbert as my last pick, thinking there was NOOO way someone would take both. And sure enough, they were both nabbed.

Final roster

QBs

7.07 Russell Wilson (4)

12.10 Matt Cassel (10)

13.07 Teddy Bridgewater (10)

I like Wilson to take another step forward in terms of fantasy points this year (there is no doubt he can do it, so part of it is Pete Carroll's play selection) as the Seahawks pass (at least a little) more. I waited too long to get the backup I wanted so drafting both Viking qbs seemed better than the other options available

RBs

1.07 Eddie Lacy (9)

3.07 C.J. Spiller (9)

10.10 Chris Ivory (11)

11.07 Roy Helu (10)

Lacy and Spiller both have a ton of upside but obviously it would be better in a survivor and fixed roster event to not have the same bye week. But Ivory and Helu should get me some points in Week 9 and possibly score other weeks

WRs

2.10 Randall Cobb (9)

4.10 Mike Wallace (5)

5.07 Emmanuel Sanders (4)

9.07 Anquan Boldin (8)

18.10 Cole Beasley (11)

I Really like the top three and top four thus my decision to go with only five wideouts to take the third quarterback. At least I get the best three scores from at least four players in the five bye weeks

TEs

6.10 Travis Kelce (6)

8.10 Delanie Walker (9)

Hard to say whether Kelce who showed his immense talent in preseason games was a reach as my first tight end, but I was pretty sure I could get a safer option later which turned out to be Walker who I think has Top 10 potential IF Jake Locker can stay healthy all year.

Ks

14.10 Dan Bailey (11)

15.07 Greg Zuerlein (4)

Both guys have big legs and Bailey will have to kick a ton in the full season of high scoring games the Cowboys defense will force the team to play

DSTs

16.10 Tennessee Titans (9)

17.07 Minnesota Vikings (10)

At least two that aren't terrible in this scoring system

Overall

I think this team has a ton of firepower and can make a good run - well as long as I can survive Week 9, but immunity in Week 8 is a live possibility as only Boldin is on vacation that week

QB's

Brian Hoyer

Johnny Manziel

EJ Manuel

Not sure I could have a worse trio. Waited way too long to take my first QB, then when I selected Hoyer I felt obligated to take Johnny Football. EJ is coming off a horrible pre-season where he seemed to have regressed from last season.

RB's

Ryan Mathews

Bishop Sankey

Shonn Greene

DeAngelo Williams

A mediocre group at best. If they all stay healthy, they would be a middle of the road group.

WR's

Antonio Brown

DeMaryius Thomas

Jeremy Maclin

Tavon Austin

Stevie Johnson

Brandon Lafell

This should be my team strength by default. I like DT and Brown. If Maclin can stay healthy then that will add to this group significantly. I would be happy if Austin was my solid WR4 from this group instead of a poor man's WR3.

TE's

Kyle Rudolph

Marcedes Lewis

I like Rudolph this year, but his uncertainty of quality QB play is still a concern. No clue what I will get out of Lewis. A solid talent but has suffered from poor QB play and that looks to continue this year.

K's

Justin Tucker

Chandler Catanzaro

Tucker should be solid this season. Who knows what I will get out of the rookie kicker.

Def

KC Chiefs

Last year's star defense. Only went with one trying to cover deficiencies elsewhere.

Overall, I think this team is horrible. If I don't finish in the bottom 3 of this group I will be shocked.
