*--* 2014 Seattle Seahawks Thread *--* (1 Viewer)

Now we get several weeks of everyone saying the Seahawks don't have enough offense to repeat.

Whoever they get in the NCFCG will be tough, but I think they are the best team right now. KJ Wright has become another elite player on defense, his rise has been fun to watch this year.

Third year in a row with the fewest points allowed. If we keep this up some folks might start to take notice. ***#1seed*** :boxing:

Congrats on a great season and the number one seed hawks fans. Just a heads up but payback is coming in two weeks.

It is a great time for Seahawks fans. I'm hoping we make the most of our HFA in these playoffs.

Why would the results at home be any different then the last few years when the seahawks have played at Carolina?
They've been coin flip games…we're freaking due.
You have to get by Arizona first and Arians will be playing the "No Respect" card. This will be a tough matchup for Carolina.

Seattle is 5-1 against playoff teams.

Carolina is 1-4-1
So we're due.
I'm sayin' there's a chance

As a side note, if you have 30 minutes you should re-read this thread from the beginning. It's amazing how accurate we were on a great many things...

Also amazing how many players they've locked up since the start of the thread. ET, Sherman, Bennett, Wright, Avril - just a ton of talent.

Yep. I didn't think we would have the cash to lock up Wright and Avril and was hopeful but semi-pessimistic about Bennett. The most surprising thing to me is how they've managed their cap. And I think it is going to surprise some fans around the league who have essentially been waiting for this off-season where we "pay" Wilson and suddenly can't afford anyone else.

Man, is this a great time to be a Seahawks fan...

Officially okay with Hill's play now.
You're usually on top of stuff, but in this case you're late to the dance. Hill has been balling for weeks. ;)
Awww ####..... :kicksrock:
No more public announcements of love from you Hoop! ;)

This isn't good but one thing I can say is "ok" is we have likely been planning a contingency without him and someone will have the full week to prepare with the 1s instead of getting this bad news later in the week. And for the record, this isn't the difference maker which will allow the Panthers to win. If anything, they can add another field goal to raise them from 6 points to 9 points in this week's massacre.

Losing Hill doesn't bother me at all against the Panthers. If Jordan Hill is the diference between winning and losing against that team, we're not making it past the NFC Championship anyway.

I'd really like him to help get after Rodgers and Brady/Manning though.

Hill news stinks, but I'm sure they will be fine. Calling my shot...Irvin has a big game.

ETA: Hooper, you had better send Hill a get well card.

Irvin very well may have a big game. The week 8 game was the one where he closed it out with back-to-back sacks, although Panther fans should also be quick to note that the O-line has changed significantly since that meeting. I think the important factor here will be our run game (as usual), If we can keep their defense on the field and our defense fresh this really shouldn't be a problem.

For those of you who follow Davis Hsu's salary cap articles, he has a new one up for the 2015 offense.

I think the rest of the NFL's fans are going to be pretty grumpy when they realize the situation isn't nearly as bleak as they want.
Thanks for posting. Good read.

I must say, it is a bit discouraging for this fan to see a prediction of continuing with the same core group of receiving targets. I know they have some young WRs, but I was hoping for an upgrade somewhere in the group (WRs/TEs).

Also, I don't see mention of Bryan Walters. Not suggesting it would be a big loss, but didn't see him mentioned, so I assume he is expected to be gone.

If I were to think about what I'd like for us to invest in it probably would be more O-line (draft) and D-line (cheap rotational players). I'm not sure I care as much about the WRs and we would only be able to afford drafted players.

On that note, Davis does talk about drafting a return specialist.

I agree. Wilson is able to move the team without great WR's or TE's. One of Seattle's strength is that they have the perfect QB for the team that they have. Save the money for the defense and to maybe get him a little more protection.

I would have mentioned OL, but the article showed him predicting two OL draft picks.

Found a Seahawks bar in DC, I'm hammered. :banned:

No doubt tonight, was never worried. This team reminds me of the late 80s Pistons, I just believe they'll win every game. :hifive:

This thing that appears to be starting could be exceptionally rare. Looking forward to the next 5 years. Enjoy the ride. :banned:

Was it Penn Quarter? I've been tempted to get down there, but I've got a comfy couch and a big TV :)

Entering 2013, the Seahawks had Harvin, Rice, Tate, Baldwin, Kearse at WR. They then lost Harvin for the season and lost Rice halfway through the season... but still leaving them with Tate, Baldwin, Kearse.

Entering 2014, Rice and Tate were out, but Harvin and Richardson were in. Then they got rid of Harvin midseason, which left them with Baldwin, Kearse, Richardson. Until Richardson tore his ACL.

Entering 2015, Richardson will be 8 months removed from the ACL tear. Leaving them currently with Baldwin, Kearse, Lockette, Norwood, and a less than fully healthy Richardson.

Surely they will now do something to upgrade that group... right?

Seahawks are favorites to win the Super Bowl......this year and next.

That would mean we win Super Bowl 49 this year and then Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco's new stadium. It's asking A LOT, but would be a nice little dig at SF basically forever.
This is getting way ahead of ourselves, since the Seahawks aren't even in the SB yet this year, much less win it and then next year, but being the first 3peat in NFL history in Levi's would just be the best.

Oh I know, its just fun to dream. Should would beat the Thanksgiving dinner.
