It's that time gang - hours before kickoff I have done my meticulous research (i.e. though about this for about 15 minutes and checked my math). Yes - here are my 2015 Predictions sure to fail! Feel free to throw your own predictions in here :)

Are there any free sites where you can go through, pick all the games, and get a tally at the end? I want to make sure the numbers add up and are feasible.

I used a spreadsheet to add up the wins and losses and shockingly, I was only one game off on the first try. So adjusted one team's W-L record.

I seriously just did this, but without scores, and I'm not doing common opponent tiebreakers. And I might have rigged a game or two to avoid three teams in the AFC being 10-6. Cinci got an extra win over Pittsburgh...

Huh. Link to Football Outsiders's DVOA playoff odds report. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds

According to them, I whiffed on Cincinnati (maybe I'm just angry at QG :P ), Carolina, New Orleans, and San Diego. (And I took away a win or two from San Diego to get to their record. Should have just left it.)

I apparently have given Detroit too much credit.

But this will all change radically, no doubt. Just an interesting look, regardless.

A tiny bit surprised the Bengals top out that football outsiders ratings - figured they have put the Steelers there.

And at least you gave us the extra win over the Steelers ;)

Teams like to surprise so you never know.

Jets take to Bowles' style and you never know.

Baby Jags all grow up at the same time.

Winston ends up being the truth.

Seattle's changes blow up their chemistry. Who knows :)

Vague divsional thoughts.

AFC East - My feeling is Patriots have a chip on their shoulder again. And until they get knocked off the mountain hard to go against 'em. Dolphins seem to really putting things together - I could be low on them. Bills are weird - I need to try and do some research to see if a team ever fired a coach and turned around and hired a coach that had 5 less wins than that team in the previous season. I can't think of any off hand. Jets will try to bore teams into submission - very well could work but I see them as low ceiling. Always seen Fitzpatrick as meh. Smart, safe QB but uninspiring.

AFC North - Really it's put Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens into a bag and shake. Totally could be a 3-way tie. I suspect Baltimore has dropped off a tiny bit. The Steelers defense is a huge question mark. The Bengals are relying more on guys coming back than new pick-ups (and heck the big pick-up was a guy coming back) - continuity is nice but is there really going to be improvement. The Browns are a mess. A mess with some talent, but a mess. Schedule is hard for all of 'em.

AFC South - It should be the Colts show all the way. Is Houston trending up or was last year the outlier - another team that has no discernible QB. The Jags I think could be a big surprise but don't have the heart to take 'em as a playoff team. Titans are on a longer-range plan it seems.

AFC West - Broncos situation feels just a little like duct tape. Should be better than the rest of the division but if a team takes a shocking hard fall this actually be the team. Chiefs are sorta like a better Jets - will try to bore teams into oblivion. Seems like a a team with a limited upside - if they fall behind in a game seems like they'd have a hard time coming back. Chargers getting Rivers sorted out - they could win the division but they have a weird way of finding a way to not be good enough. The Raiders I think will be better but it may not show up in results. Watch 'em a year from now.

NFC Next.

-QG

NFC East - Could have a team go out and be #1 seed if they beat up division foes. Could have a 9-7 winner. I think the Cowboys have the talent to beat the rest here. They are a very good team. I don't think they are great. I just don't buy Chip Kelly. Team could really finish anywhere - I suspect it'll average out. Theoretically this is the kind of scenario where Giants surprise everyone when they aren't supposed to compete. That defense is just a mess though. I'm not seeing it. If Washington weren't so bad, I'd think the Giants likely to finish bottom (and I'd put them in my 8 to miss the playoffs in that thread). Washington - the Snyder circus continues. As a Bengals fan I was glad they hired Gruden away as I wanted him fired after that year. With an impatient owner and the whole RG III circus I think this team will be flailing and desperate. And bad.

NFC North - Packers seem like the standard here - even losing Nelson right off the bat. It will be fun to watch Minnesota develop - Zim is good man and when I'm not pulling for my Bengals I'll be pulling for his team. Bridgewater is the truth. They could be very very good. The Lions - well the defensive losses hurt no doubt. Can they keep Stafford healthy. It's like the same movie over and over. The Bears are likely to get worse before they get better - at least they have the most hated dude in the league at QB. That's pretty fun. Oh wait it's not.

NFC South - Will anyone be any good in this division this year? I have the Falcons coming back but I coulda said anybody. I don't think the Bucs make their move yet with the rookie QB. The Panthers just seem suspect and losing their one good WR really hurts. The Saints should be better but they couldn't best this bunch last year and now lose Graham. Looking at this assortment of teams has me thinking I didn't give the Colts enough wins since they play all of 'me.

NFC West - Seahawks should be the best again. And they made moves - some positive some negative. Kinda gotta go with 'em but if the Cardinals or Rams jumped up and took 1st place I'm not sure I'd be that shocked. But it seems like the Rams are ready to move up every year and don't. The 49ers offseason was ridiculous. I supposed they could surprise and not fall apart. I suppose. But I'm not feeling that.

-QG

Bumping - will have to look at how we did later :) Got 9 out of 12 playoff teams right :bowtie: but had the Panthers in last place :bag:
