Also, from POR's perspective, you want guys who are going to compliment Lillard/CJM. Turner's going to kill their spacing, as you're pretty happy when he lets it fly from 3, whereas Crabbe is someone you have to respect. You also don't want to let Turner handle the ball over CJM or Lillard, right?

Festus Ezeli signed a 2/15 deal with the Blazers. The second year is a TEAM option. Teams must have really been scared away from his injury history because he is worth more money than that, and I'm not really much of a Ezeli fan. The Lakers or Knicks would have been much better off giving him a 3 year deal rather than Mozgov or Noah's ridiculous 4 year deals.
Hey Kev you know what's ridiculous?  0 interest from any free agent with the exception of D-wade who lets be honest was angling for more money.

But then they wouldn't be the Lakers and the Knicks.
Here's a 1200+ comment post over at Reddit highlighting how, in the wake of the Wade news, it's clear how the Lakers are a "model organization". It's a good read. Even has the obligatory mentions FA's now flocking to LA (and not MIA) because of this. You might expect the first comment to be mocking the poster. Instead, the post got some gold, and you have scroll a long way down to see anyone asking if everyone's taking crazy pills.

It's important in helping to understand the Lakers fans. When you see them get bat#### crazy, it's important to understand the stock from which they came. Much like you wouldn't harshly judge a child from an impoverished neighborhood with no parental guidance turning to drugs and violence.

For all you guys that aren't ready to jump on the 2019 Denver Nuggets Bandwagon, they are playing the T-Wolves on ESPN tonight.

I am in mourning right now about Wade leaving. I really loved him. Best athlete South Florida has ever had and for it to end like this is truly a sad thing. The AA won't be the same this upcoming season. It is a tough break for us Heat fans. I understand both sides. It does suck though. I can't imagine Wade is really happy with it deep down inside. Playing with Rondo? Man that's going to be a potential train-wreck no doubt. I have a sneaking suspicion he will be back here again, and of course retire as a member of the Miami Heat. The key is under the mat Dwyane. As far as this being Whiteside's team? Jeez. Kid has to prove a lot now. He got the payday, now show us more on the offensive end. Dragic should have a very productive season though. As sad as I am, and believe me....I am sad about Wade being gone, this team will have some fun moments. The main problem is we lost one of the best finishers in the NBA. Wade was ice cold in the 4th quarter. Nothing rattled him. Loved the ball in his hands with the game on the line. So many great finishes over the last 13 years. All the best to him.

Anyone up for doing a FFA nba dynasty leeg?

If we can get enough interest, I think something like a 30-team homer league with contracts, salary cap, etc. would be really fun. Buy-in wouldn't be anything crazy, 20 or 25 bucks.

Serena Williams has been in the Palm Beach area since she was 9? Willis McGahee was an incredible athlete before the knee injury. But James would get my vote over Wade as the best South Florida athlete.
No. 4 years and bolting? He was amazing. But the longevity is not there. He never rooted himself down here and never was going to.

Wade

Marino

Then the rest.

Even though he didn't get the titles, Marino gets the nod over Wade, IMO.  Marino was a greater football player than Wade was a basketball player.

Commissioner didn't step in because they failed. Otherwise there would be annual meetings for NY, Sacro, recently LA wondering wth is going on there. Commissioner stepped in because Hinkie exposed the game. They succeeded in exactly what they wanted to do.  Get so bad that you get high picks. Sell off aging or high priced assets for future picks and build it from the ground up.

This season, we'll have 5 lottery picks on the floor with 2 high firsts next year and another high first in 2018. Add to that they didn't jump into the spending spree this year meaning they'll be one of the top teams in terms of money next year to sign whoever they want.  We'll be ok.

Ben Simmons is going to be a triple double machine and in a few years, with an assist from some of the other talent that Philly has stocked, he's going to do the unthinkable and make Philly a FA destination.

Thank you Sam Hinkie. I was always a fan of the process but Simmons was the homerun we were all waiting on, he's the difference maker we've all been craving.

He shot something like 23% from the floor, right?

Don't know his shooting percentage, was to blinded watching his rebounding, way he ran in the open court and breath taking passes.

And when players start trying to find a way to play with Ben Simmons it won't be because of his shooting.

Dayum....sounds alot like Lebron.

If things go well for him and he keeps working on his game he's more Magic than Lebron. Passing is easily the best part of his game and why they are trying to turn him into a true PG, not just a point forward. I don't think he's as athletic as Lebron, will never be that kind of a scorer or defender.

I know what you mean. We saw how excited Jeff Green and Biyombo were to sign up to play with Elfrid Payton this offseason.

JR Swish resigning with the Champs.  Sounds like 5MM next season, a player option for the 2nd year, and a no trade clause.  So, for the 2nd year in a row, he opts out and loses money.  What a great team player!
5 million?  wow, that's a steal.
