Seriously?

Replace KD with KG and it's nothing but self motivation that you'd be slobbing over. Athletes do this #### all the time.

They don't have the credibility that Ginobli has though:

"I gave my right one," Ginobili said. "I gave it all, I gave it all. I gave my right one for the Spurs, I can say it, I can really say it. It's true."
He can say whatever he wants, as far as I'm concerned, to get himself psyched. He's not just El Contusion now but something else.

Come on. Athletes put in late night work all the time.  They don't make a point of loudly drawing the press's attention to their willingness to do so in such a transparent way.  Even Kobe would usually plant those hard work stories through Woj or something instead of being so blatant about it.

Also, while athletes do the self motivation shtick all the time, it's usually sincere largely because it's at least grounded in some sliver of reality. Like Draymond at the beginning of last year talking about people disrespecting the team's 2015 title because of the injuries to their opponents. But nothing Durant says here makes a lick of sense:

- Nobody has ever questioned his drive.

- They've called him a coward, but that was for choosing by far the easiest path to a title that any elite free agent player has ever chosen, not because they think he's scared of the late-night workouts. Unless he's planning to ask for a trade at the end of his next late-night workout that tag's not going anywhere, fair or not.

- There is zero chance that anyone has said that GSW's season is over or that they're the worst team in the league or that he should feel like the world is going to end. That's way beyond stupid, and makes the whole thing sound silly and fabricated and oversensitive, not intense and borderline crazy like a KG rant.

What about all the stories of MJ making #### up to be mad about?

Athletes do it all the time.

Did MJ yell the #### he made up to be mad about at reporters, while also making sure he pointed out to them that everyone was wrong and he totally works hard even though nobody had ever said he didn't? If he did I bet he would have been ridiculed for it too.  Oh, and MJ was kind of a dooshbag, so he's probably not your best analogy to counter the argument that KD is acting like a dooshbag.

My point is KD isn't the only one. That this is even a news story and makes you think he's a dooshbag is a testament to the amount of media following this team and the ridiculous amount of scrutiny he's under.

I'm get when people say that Draymond is a dbag, but what KD is doing here doesn't qualify for me.

KD is literally the only person I can remember doing something like this.

And the third-best player in the NBA yelling bizarre, nonsensical stuff at the media in the middle of an unscheduled shootaround is a legitimate story.  Not an earth-shattering one of course, but definitely a story.  It would be a story if Anthony Davis did something like this too.

I would think the T-Wolves guys would have an issue with this.

Im pretty sure they would rank Towns, Wiggins, Lavine, Rubio, Dunn, Gorgui, Shabazz, Pek, Jones, Hill, Aldridge and Payne ahead of him right now.

[flaminghottake]He may not even be the third-best player on his own team![/flaminghottake]

As much as I loved watching him play, listening to him talk was never an experience I sought out.
I'd love to see KG talk #### throughout the broadcast. Even to his cohosts.

"Oh, you want to wear a three-piece suit, do you? Well, Kevin Calabro, you look like a three-piece of ####...."

Hating the Warriors this year won't be too much fun. Too easy. I've enjoyed hating them the past couple of seasons. Curry acting just like the DB rich kid on the team in HS. The team paling in comparison to those glorious Baron/CapJack Warriors.

Now, they've added Durant and Draymond seems to become more easily hated by the day (he used to be the one bright spot on that team). It was more fun to hate them when every fan was having a W's circle jerk.

Actually, they are rapidly becoming so downright loathsome that I fear I might have to root for them soon.

Might be time for Durant to come off the bench for a while.  Like the Warriors fans here wanted Durant's role to be.
To be fair, I think Durant should start for maybe half a season while McCaw gets up to speed.

Is this Along with Shaq, barkley, and Kenny?
It looks like they have him in his own weird room, or off to the side somehow, and he's just going to parachute in and machine-gun everyone with KGisms?

They were asking him about a recent dust-up with David West that landed him on Shaqtin' A Fool, and he said something to the effect of "I blew in his face and he didn't do anything."

Ho-hum.  Westbrook tonight 51pts, 13reb, 10ast.

Oh and took OT to beat Phoenix by 3. Gonna be a rough start to the season but OKC is 2-0

For sure.  At least in Westbrook's defense OKC doesn't really have many viable offensive options, whereas Raptors have JV and Lowry
Not going to get an argument from me on that one. 44 is just obscene though and he can't sustain that kind of usage for a full season.

It's Kobe-esque, except, you know, he passes, rebounds and plays D.

Finally get to watch the Magic tonight. Wow do they suck. Might leave for my party early if they play like the first two nights look like in the box score.

Get Hezonja the ball. #### I'm hammered.

Vince Carter sighting and still contributing. Nice no foul call on holding the arm of Porzingas  for a  potential layup.

Be 40 January 26th

Wolves tanked in the 2nd half of both games to start the season. They had a nice lead in the 1st half of both games but just couldn't hold it. 3rd quarter in particular was pretty brutal both games. Rubio hurt his elbow as well. It sounds like he could miss some time.

Not a great way to start the season.

Team is HORRIBLE. Trade everybody except Gordon and Mario and just try again. Holy ####. Fire Hennigan too.

They are just young, and they don't have any depth. Lots to be excited about there. If they keep Rubio I think they will make some noise this year.

Wiggins was great for the most part last night but I'll be keeping an eye on those assist totals.

The West is going to be deep with competent teams this year, even if there aren't going to be more than 3 that win 50.

Pretty sure Hezonja will get traded this year. He can't crack the rotation. Pretty clear that Henny's job is on the line.

I'd guarantee a Hezonja for Jeff Green + Augustine deal if we didn't already give those guys $22 million this off season.

:bag:

I get that. It's just frustrating when this seems to be the case every season with them. They're had an issue with finishing games for a while now. I really thought Thibodeau would help them turn that around. I'm sure I'm overreacting to a tiny sample size but it sucks to see them seemingly headed down the same path as the past several seasons.
