I think you're wrong, the gap closed significantly during '15-'16 season if you are looking at W/L between the conferences.  Can't forget about the Finals either.

I don't understand the shoe community at all, but is there a chance these shoes become very valuable in a few years?  I think it's safe to say these shoes are going to tank, maybe sell a few thousand(?) pairs.  Now lets say he backs down, signs with Nike, then goes on to a great career.  Any chance terrible sales + great career =  ?  I assume that they are boring looking hurts this case, but am curious.

Even if that is the case, and I am assuming you are thinking about buying a pair and saving them, why not just wait until they tank and grab a pair for under 100?
