Completely agree.  He made the right move, and made the move that the majority of people would make in a similar scenario

I only have a problem with what he did because he joined the team that beat him. And the main reason they beat him was because he choked away a 3-1 lead and played terrible at the end of the series.

His defense has been the most surprising improvement.

 
No one seems to care that Dahntay Jones intentionally threw Curry to the ground.  That type of play is okay as long as the Warriors aren't the ones doing it.

Lebron is just starting to look old, talking strictly appearance. He is still the best in the game, but I think he is getting close to a strong drop off in 1-2 years. Father time gets everyone, and he has been at the top of the game for over a decade.

I was saying just appearance, like actual physical appearance. He is def still the best in the game and it shows on the court, but his actual appearance, last night looking at him while he sat, he actually looked old and tired, never really seen him looking like that. He's just been going so hard, playing so physical, for so long... I think his greatness is going to start dropping off within the next 2 years. 

And again, he played awesome.

Yeah I was thinking the opposite. He looks great, but he has to play every minute for the Cavs to have a chance to stay in the game. And there aren't an easy possessions either, he's got to be 100% on offense and defense every play, anybody would get worn down from that.

This Warriors team is ridiculous. The league needs to revamp their salary structure or there's going to be little to no reason to have interest in the league from a competition standpoint. They should eliminate the max deal completely. You should be able to pay anyone anything as long as it fits the salary cap and you can meet the minimum for all players on the roster.

 
Much as I'm enjoying KD's coronation at the expense of the King, anyone jumping him ahead of LeBron is simply wrong. The skills have always been there and continue still to be freshly realized - esp enjoying the D he's picked up from Draymond - but this all is happening on an unprecendented team, one with freedom from the result hinging upon any single performer. Switch him out with James and you once again have a willing but skittish player of great talent improving upon what LBJ is doing only by complaining less to refs and actually making those put-up-or-shut-up treys.

 
I've currently got Lebron just outside the 5 greatest basketball players ever, rankings would be:

Jordan

Lonzo Ball

Liangelo Ball

Lamelo Ball

Lavar Ball

Lebron

If he can pull this miracle off, I might have to rethink my rankings.

Seriously, the Dahntay Jones incident happened in the fourth quarter. Nobody watched the fourth quarter except Warriors fans.  But if you want to petition to have Dahntay Jones banned from competitive basketball I'm happy to take it to the UNC basketball message boards for you, my fellow Tar Heel fans would be the first to sign.

BS.  There were plenty of possession on offense where he was perfectly content to sit in the corner and let Kyrie make something happened.  There was a long stretch where that seemed to be their offense.  The commentators were even pointing out that LeBron was too passive on offense and pointed out that more of the possessions need to be going through him.

This was before the route started in the third quarter, so they were still in the game.

They've always been favored against the field, but never at more than 1-2 until the Conference Finals I think. Don't worry, I'll still see if I can get you into that Yankees-Nats World Series game ;)

Seriously, this Albert Burneko writeup captured my feelings better than I can. It is fun to talk about matchups and strategy and so forth, but the talent disparity between the Warriors and the rest of the league is so great that it basically nullifies that stuff, which sucks for those of us who love to nerd out and eat that stuff up. And the idea that we're witnessing unprecedented greatness does have some merit, but again the talent disparity is so great that it's basically like watching a guy in a predraft workout dominate a chair.

Probably would have gotten more notice if Curry didn't do other fake stuff earlier in the game like throw himself to the scorers' table after shooting a contested three.  Came off like crying wolf,

In the last series there was a play where it look like he had a hard time getting enough left to dunk the ball. Like you I still think is the best player in the league but I see what you're talking about. 

Especially on the play one on one VS Curry. Lebron tried to use his muscle against Curry and it looked like Lebron was on rollerskates.

I liked when he put the finger spectacles on facing the crowd before he even knew if his no-look pass turned into two points.  Much classier than his North Korea stomp.

edit: i think it was no-look, not behind the back.  or maybe behind the back no-look with his shorts down considering how awesome curry is.

Didn't know we were comparing Curry to Jones or where you want to go with this.  I didn't even see what you are referring to.  Why has GS kept their starters in multiple possessions longer than the Cavs both games so far?  Maybe you should be questioning Kerr and Mr. Potato Head.

This was the first time I've looked at Lebron and thought the end could be coming in the not too distant future. 

He plays such a physical game and he has been doing it for 15 years, probably at like 95-100 games a year. It is fun watching him play and try to take down this super team, but if they stick together, might've seen the last of Lebron's rings.

There was a shot of him on the bench, and I just thought he looked completely out of gas, never seen him looking like that.

Is this the play you're talking about?  I would definitely listen to an "intent to injure" argument.  Not as aggressive or blatant and Pachulia's closeout that ended Kawhi Leonard's postseason, but there sure seems to be an extra leg motion not involved in contesting a shot.

He stretches that leg and slaps it down. Didn't notice that last night, but that does look like there could be some ill intent there.

Curry needs to because he usually doesn't get any foul calls at the rim and defenders stick their feet in his landing spot all the time.

This series simply comes down to GS non-stars are better than the Cavs non-stars.   Durant, Curry, and Thompson = Lebron, Irving and Love.  I like the way GS plays more, with less isolation, but those 3 on each team are pretty much equal.

But Green (a star, but their 4th best player IMO), Iguodola (a former star), Livingston, Barnes, West (a really good scorer) ... they are all better than the complimentary players of Thompson, Shumpert, Smith, Korver on the Cavs.

The Cavs simply don't have the depth GS does.  Nor IMO the coaching (or maybe the stars that listen to the coaching).

Games 1 & 2 were at Golden State.  Should we all ignore that the next two games are in Cleveland and how that helps their role players?

I tracked down video of the plays to facilitate discussion and let everyone make up their own minds.  So what I did was pretty much the opposite of what you claim.

FWIW, I played at a higher level of basketball than Haralabos Voulgaris or Ken Pomeroy ever did.  That doesn't mean you should stop listening to them.  It means you're making an intellectually dishonest argument and you should stop using it.  

But thanks again for caring so much about my posts you had to comment on them, even if what you said wasn't true or smart.

 
Last night after the double dribble by Curry that has Lebron dancing all over the floor and Curry drove into the lane for a lay up had me thinking.   Lambeer, Ewing, Mourning, Parish would have slammed Curry in the paint, or at least would have fouled him pretty hard for coming into the lane.  Today we have Love basically watching his teammate Lebron get made to look like a sucker and watched Curry drive right past him in the lane for an easy 2.   Times have changed.  Maybe for the better?
