Seemed like he went around.
Yeah not sure who is looking at 2nd there, first reaction is hit the home plate cut.If he knew what was going on, yes. My guess is that he didn'tIt's 3-0, not 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth, shouldn't he be screaming 2nd base for an easy double play?
From 15-20 feet behind 2nd?Yeah not sure who is looking at 2nd there, first reaction is hit the home plate cut.
thread title. I don't do the Facebook, but that also translates well to real life. From that view, it looks like an 8-6-3 triple play is on the table.
Yep.From that view, it looks like an 8-6-3 triple play is on the table.
I remember Bill Wambsganss was Taco Hero that yearFrom that view, it looks like an 8-6-3 triple play is on the table.
Yep.
Davis made a great play. Looking up and charging hard he is thinking about cutting the runner down at the plate..and he would have.
If the Indians had pulled off a triple play there, you gotta think Manfred has to step in, declare the Cubs cursed, give the trophy to the Indians, and call off the rest of the Series, right?Yep.
If bases are loaded and I'm the CF on that ball I have no thought of the guy on second. None. You are looking to throw the ball at least to the home plate cut (1st baseman usually) and prevent a run from scoring. From 15-20 feet behind 2nd?
There's no hitting the cutoff man there, especially considering there wasn't one there.
All I said is that there's no hitting the cutoff man. 1 because you don't when you can get it home on the fly and 2 BECAUSE HE WASNT ####### THEREIf bases are loaded and I'm the CF on that ball I have no thought of the guy on second. You guys who think that should have been a double play are really armchair athletes, the runner on second is not a concern at all.
That ball would have fallen in front of you so the force at second would have been the percentage playIf bases are loaded and I'm the CF on that ball I have no thought of the guy on second. None. Davis made a great play and watching it live my reaction was "what a great run-preventing throw". If I was Francona I wouldn't even bring up what was going on with Schwarber - Davis made the smart play and did it well. I don't want my CF hesitating there to look around and see if the runner on second is an idiot.Davis made a great play. Actually there are no such thing as "Free" Tacos from Taco BellPEOPLE, HOW AND WHERE DO I GET MY FREE TACOS?
In a one run game you're thinking home all the way. Up 3-0 that second run is probably a little more important than the first run. Even if the run scores when you throw to second, it's 3-1 with 2 outs man on first. If bases are loaded and I'm the CF on that ball I have no thought of the guy on second. None. Cubs gonna surrender down 3 games? Some guy who paid 10 grand for Cubs game 4 tickets has to be at least slightly concerned right now.
I'd assume those racks are being dropped hoping for a sweep / clinchCubs gonna surrender down 3 games?
Nope, you are thinking home all the way regardless of the score. Not only is it not in the flow of baseball, but no one is ever looking at 2nd in that situation because the guy has to be a complete dope to be running. Someone needed to yell to Davis to throw the ball, and it didn't happen. Actually some of you guys were probably yelling at your TVs, he should have listened. In a one run game you're thinking home all the way. OK it's a sub-optimal shutout through eight46 pitches for Miller in a Kluber start is not ideal.
Oh bull####, I might have gotten there. That ball would have fallen in front of you so the force at second would have been the percentage play
Obviously, I'm talking about the rest of the series.OK it's a sub-optimal shutout through eight
To win four, you have to first win oneObviously, I'm talking about the rest of the series.
Thanks Casey Stengel. To win four, you have to first win oneObviously, I'm talking about the rest of the series.
