2017-18 NBA (Playoffs): A gasping, wheezing thread begs message board poster arguing how Jordan never lost a Finals to just let it die in peace (13 Viewers)

It may be less fun to talk defense, but Houston allowed Klay Thompson to hoist 15 three-point attempts.  That's just not going to get it done.  Game 2 will go the same way as game 1 if we don't see Iguodala and Green taking more shots.

...and if Houston allows Nick Young to stay on the court they deserve to lose.  On numerous defensive possessions the Rockets let Swaggy P just stand near the 3pt line across from somebody (even he can manage that).  If he enters the game it should be an instant screen and attack.

Dubs had a 95.7 Drtg with Looney on the floor. He looked good to me. Looney did way better then Curry on Harden.
Is it a hot take to say Curry doesn't look 100%?  Now, while there are some players he can hold his own against, Harden isn't one of them.

If I'm GSW, and Paul and Ariza aren't on the floor, I send a double at Harden with 10 on the shot clock everytime and make someone else beat me.

Looney's not exactly a dancing bear, but he played much better when isolated than expected.  Kerr was still wise to start the Hampton 5 though.  If nothing else, having a player like Looney (or any other bench player) end up on Harden during an ISO can help keep Curry out of foul trouble.  In almost every game Steph has that 3 or 4 minute stretch where he forgets that fouls are bad.  Getting him into early foul trouble may be the Rockets best chance to win game 2.

I’ll be in the Garden tonite. Just checked secondary market and wow, could make a nice profit on my tix.

Would rather be there to see Lebrons whining for fouls in person tho

I was getting exasperated at seeing Harden hitting all those step backs but Looney did a good job. Curry did a decent job as well, and much better than Harden did on anybody. The Warriors are going to be lucky if they get to re-sign Looney (they can only offer him $2M I believe after they turned down his third year option).
Weren't you hoping for more Bell and less Looney? ;)

Huh? Curry was the primary defender on Harden for 13 possessions - Harden had eight points and his teammates had another four.

In contrast, Harden guarded Curry on 12 possessions which led to Curry eight points and another eight for his teammates.

Maybe my first two sentences should have been separated.  Which part did you disagree with?  Do you think Curry looks 100%?  Or do you think Curry matches up as well against Harden as he does other guards?

You said Curry couldn't hold his own against Harden.

DING DING! Hopefully the Celts can withstand the opening wave they are sure to see tonight. If they can withstand that it should be a good game.

Expecting to be even more frustrated than normal at the calls Bron will get tonight too. <_<

Honestly, I feel like Curry is bored. You can tell when he turns the dial to 11.

He pretty much looks like he's going through the motions at times.

CJ McCollum is going to debate Harden vs Klay on his podcast today.  I appreciate someone thinks that it's a worthwhile discussion.

I wish that were due to boreddom and it's hard to differentiate with the injuries, but you can't rule out that it affects Curry when teams constantly attack him on defense.

It truly think it tires him out and combine that with the fact that Curry is smart enough and willing to let his teammates carry the load on offense, it can look like he's coasting until needed.

Unless the Pistons get a top 3 pick tonight. (2.5 percent chance) I don't want to hear or see the word Piston until January or if someone is talking about working on a car or something else a piston would be part of.

it will be fun if at the lottery draft tonight the #10 isn't the Lakers, but if Boston gets the #2 or #3 pick it will be just filthy.

Of course if that happens we will know, for an absolute fact, that the NBA/Silver have made it their purpose to not allow the "tanking" by the Sixers to win :tinfoilhat:

ETA: funny note about the Lakers pick I almost forgot about:

"Los Angeles Lakers: That the Lakers owe this year’s pick to the Sixers is remarkable, given that it was only top-three protected each of the past three years because of the ill-fated Steve Nash trade from six years ago and the Lakers managed to finish with the second pick three years running. Now that it’s unprotected, there’s no such luck this time."
This plus cavs still not revealed at number 8 will be 100% bonkers.

they must have said "team lost a lot of games to injuries" at least 3 times so far, for at least 2 different teams. Good spin NBA

Sixers let a former player get some TV time in Elton Brand, to help grow his career as coach of the G league. Celtics send their president.

Sixers  -1, Celtics - 0. they couldn't send Heyward, or anybody else?

You think anyone in the C’s org with any choice in the matter wouldn’t rather be in the Garden tonight?

man i hope everybody is using Bilas' rankings. As a Sixers' fan, i'd be pumped for the Sixers to get Porter Jr. or Mikal Bridges
