2017-18 NBA (Playoffs): A gasping, wheezing thread begs message board poster arguing how Jordan never lost a Finals to just let it die in peace (1 Viewer)

Looks like game 1 ripped the Cavs heart out. If they got game 1 this could have been a heck of a series....looking like a long shot.

You know what would make this thread better? If we went back to the 80's and 90's. Where posters worked harder and were tougher. These new age posters are so entitled and would have been eaten alive by the posters back then. They wouldn't be complaining about other posts, they would have just worked harder to be better than the other poster. If they couldn't be better then they wouldn't like their posts they would just punch them in the face to show them that celebrating their awesome posting abilities aren't to be celebrated.

I dont really understand this comment. He made a valid point. I dont actually think he means absolutely the "worst fit ever" pretty sure that is hyperbole. Philly would obviously be great with Lebron since they are really good already, but it is a legit argument for why philly wouldnt get over the hump which i think was the point he was making.
I think his point (I don't want to try to speak for him here) is similar to mine. I don't see and maybe he doesn't seeing Lebron and Ben who are similar style players messing well n Philly which could lead to on court issues and why they wouldn't win. Yeah Lebron is the best player but no matter how many all stars you have on a team it doesn't matter if the fit isn't great. There's gonna be issues. This isn't your PS4 or XBOX NBA2K game where you can just throw guys on teams and dominate the competition. Too many people think that. It's kind of why when MIA struggled the first year I took a few pot shots at the people who thought Lebron and CO would dominate from day 1. Obviously they struggled early and took most of that first year to get any sort of Chemistry going.

You mean Miami that lost in the finals in 6 and where up 2 - 1?

Players in the past were notorious for just showing up. Sometimes high, sometimes drunk and still pulling it off on talent alone because they knew that most of the other guys they went against were regular scrubs too. Smoking cigarettes in between innings of baseball games. Downing chili dogs and pop rocks at half. Players today are like well oiled machines going up against other top of the line machines.
That's basically my point. Players were in worst shape back then and still managed to play well Today players have more healthy choices and make them yet complain about being too tired? I'd have hated to see some of these baseball guys who whine be in Philly with the 93 team, these basketball guys complain on a team with MJ, Bird, ETC, Today many players are entitled babies who act like they deserve everything all before they hit a field or court and play one inning, down, period or quarter or game. I remember reading an interview with former Phillies Pitcher Brett Myers. He said it's really tough for an athlete to admit when they don't have it anymore and tried to hang on. Myers's said his was the easiest decision ever because todays younger players made that choice easy for him with their entitlement and childish antics and how the Vets in the clubhouses had zero respect anymore from the younger guys. I know a lot of fans love the showboating and stuff but its really gone overboard in some sports along with the entitlement. Guys played hard less in shape back then and didn't complain. It's like the fat guy who plays catcher in your bars beer league who's ready to play meanwhile Joe Smith who works financial and is a gym rat and coaches his kids Baseball team acts like he can't put a lot into because he's too tired now. It's laughable.

Not sure what you're saying here.

What's all this now?

Conventional wisdom is they need to give up the 26th pick to have some take Bayless' contract to afford LeBron. Not sure how they could afford George but Kawhi is possible as a trade.
I don't see the Sixers trading for Kwahi honestly unless they want to give up 1 or both 1st rounders this year, Saric, Probably a guy like Korkmaz (More of an opinion on this as SA loves their European guys) and Covington. I know I see a lot of people throwing Fultz in there but other then being a former #1 pick which I thought was an overdraft on him he has very very little trade value but it'd depend if Pop is there I guess and thinks of him

I’m a Cleveland homer and understand I view the game with a bias but I can’t understand how anyone could not see how bad the calls have been against the Cavs these two games.

Brett Myers was one of the most entitled spoiled schmucks around.  He finally had a few moments of team play during 2008, but was a petulant baby the rest of his career

This #### is ridiculos.  From klays horse#### jump into the defender foul to bron getting hammered by two guys and Lue getting  T

What the everloving ####?

Even if they got rid of Covington, Fultz and Bayless, I don’t think they could afford two max guys.
Yeah I don't think they could either without gutting the team even more. One or both guys would have to take less then the max or one guy takes the max and the other guy sucks it up for a year or 2 first.

What are you talking about with Brett Myers?
