I didn't see any of that. I did see lots of competitive games between teams that were trying to get into the playoffs or improve their seed. Lots of them. Were you tuning into games featuring sub 30 win teams and expecting a quality product?
Shaq seems to think he's going to the Lakers, along with Paul George, and maybe some other guys in addition. I don't know why he thinks that, or how he thinks it would be possible, but he's not a Lakers blogger at least. It's not just Lakers bloggers making that suggestion.
yeah I have seen the hometown thoughts with Kawhi and PG3, but with Lebron it just doesn't seem like there is anything there that makes sense.
Maybe he does. I really think what happens with Cleveland's roster in the offseason will have a lot to do with his ultimate decision. But the truth is, I don't know, the bloggers don't know, Chris Broussard probably doesn't know, you don't know, etc. I don't spend much time on the speculation myself, it's ultimately a pointless exercise. There are reasons for him to come to the Lakers, but it's entirely possible other places give him more reasons. I just hope that he does whatever he does as early as possible in the FA period so the Lakers can adjust accordingly.
for some odd reason I have gotten sucked into this one. I usually ignore most of them too, or read for just a look, but yeah, it isn't like every article has any new news. it is all the same speculation, over and over. Funny how it works, but guess you have to write about something.
When the Lakers have cap space they do seem to get mentioned. I think legitimately initially, but Jimmy and Mitch (and Kobe) kind of made it a bit of a joke over the last decade. I don't know how appealing a spot this would be for LeBron really in terms of strictly competitiveness. I think it's a wash between the Lakers and Cleveland as it stands now. Cleveland will have their current roster and a high draft pick most likely, Lakers will have their current roster and another near max FA spot (if LeBron comes here) this year, potentially another max FA spot next year when it'll be easier to move Deng's contract. Tangibly the 76ers seem more well set up in terms of known quantities talent wise going forward, but not much cap flexibility if they sign LeBron.
Aren't you proving my point? More competitive and meaningful games equates to more interest and a better league. If you still have sub 30 win teams giving a #### against five or six playoff contenders, that makes things so much more interesting down the stretch.
I'm confused. I thought your point was the last month of the regular season sucked. I'm saying it didn't suck, because there were tons of meaningful games on a near nightly basis, right down to the last day of the season. I have zero expectation that every single game/team is going to be worth watching, tanking or not. As you get toward the end of the season, you know there will be bad games (again tanking or not) because the lousy teams have been well established at that point - I would never expect them to participate in good games and I wouldn't tune in to watch them either.* There were plenty of teams and games worth watching, to the extent that the last month of the season was actually the opposite of suck overall.

definitely one of the stranger stories with this series. We know he can be streaky, but he is literally ice cold. Game 2 he looks like himself, and every other game, on both offense and defense, he just looks like the moment is too big for him
the 2 fouls on Ben (2nd one all on Belinelli) hurt the Sixers aggressiveness when Brett had to sit him. Hopefully he comes back in like he left
Rozier would be the under-appreciated player of this series if the commentators didn't lick his nuts every chance they get. So, Dario should get the award. Guy doesn't catch any breaks, and is fun to watch when he is confident
