and no one was willing to touch the 76ers, who the hell is able to say that? do we think Colangelo is the reason they got Reddick, or the $23 million they had in availabale cap space because of his predecessor? and if you think an NBA player wouldn't come to this team with this young talent and a good way to help your career, you are crazy. sure their 10 win season no one probably wanted to join them, but that summer it is honestly a player's loss to not join. You don't think the opportunity given to Ilyasova and Bellinelli this year helps their next contract?

Never said it was Coaches I said Players. Look at what I wrote in the Sixers thread. The Sixers were trying to trade for Scharaoder/Teague with Noel involved because JC knew from talking to players unless he got some sort of big name guy even B list who would prop up the team there was no chance of getting a Lebron/KD etc type guy without that guy. And I said they (THE NBA PLAYERES) viewed the Sixers as a joke as well as fans around and league and many other people inside the league. Hinkie was showing the utmost disrepect to people as well. Is anyone outside of Sixers fans really surprised the fool doesn't have an NBA job right now and had to go consult for an NFL Team? Not really. Look at all the people who defended Brett Brown? They thought BB got a pretty bad deal in Philly with Hinkie there. This guy also was the first to mention before anyone else how Brown basically told the Organization he wasn't resigning and staying in Philly if Sam Hinkie was around. That to me says a lot. Brown comes from a coaching tree of Gregg Poppovich where respect is given to everyone and given some of the reports from sources going back to when MCW was traded it doesn't seem Brown and Hinkie ever got along (Reminds me of Chip Kelly/Howie Roseman issue but with The Good Guy here being Brown as the Coach and the GM being the Bad guy in Hinkie). With the reports that came out with Hinkie and Brown etc it was pretty embarrassing for the league culture. It showed just how bad the tanking problem in the NBA is. 

Considering the NBA got involved to help the Sixers find someone I don't think it's that out of the picture to think that. JC jumped at the chance to help a team again and maybe be a GM or some sort of Assistant as he wanted to get back into the game in some way at least on a club level. JJ Reddick was severely overpaid btw. I know that's what guys like him get but he knew he wasn't getting that deal elsewhere the Sixers could give it to him. But please explain how this is a good way to help your career because I see a lot of selfish NBA players today many who won't take the time to help the younger guys because they are afraid of being replaced. Ilyasova and Marco are cast off and NBA journeymen. Ersan was a fairly highly touted big who never became anywhere close to as good as he was. He's older now and his next contract is probably his last. Marco was good yes but it took him making absolute circus shots that most of the time don't work. I'd be more afraid of going to the Sixers do to the injury history of Embiid and his immature behavior. I've said I like EMbiid but how many guys will put up with his childish behavior? He's already created enemies around he league with his tweeting and Brown has even told him to cool it down. He's other trying to make trick shots not rather then working on Stamina. You know what he said he need to work on this off season. I don't know if Players will go to the Sixers or not but if they do IMHO it'll only be because it was for the money not because the team since they are one of he biggest teams who can send them money. Also based on what I heard from this guy there was no chance a big time star goes to the Sixers without some other Veteran already there or going there. Hence why the Schroader/Teague trade for Noel was in the works. The 76ers wanted Schraoder but ATL viewed him their future and tried to send the Sixers Teague but they didn't want Teague or at least straight up for Noel given Teague's contract. I also see a terrible dysfunctional franchise and I'd even say this way before the twitter issues. From the Medical staff screw ups, the Fultz mess, the not being honest with the media fans etc.

I read it's gonna be very hard for the Sixers to even prove it was him without hard hard evidence. The PR move would be Bryan quits before he's fired but then again if he's trying to prove he's innocent that just makes him look more guilty but they could play it off he's going away to help the team move on and what not. It's a hard place for both sides to be in. BC I already went over but the Sixers say it comes out later BC had nothing to do with this or his wife. Say it was another team employee or someone messing around. The Sixers now have egg on their face for firing a guy who did nothing wrong. Then again they don't do anything and it's proven he was involved they have egg on their face. Double edged sword here where I don't see this playing out well for either side.

There have been some poor coaches and front office staff in Cle, so i wouldn't be surprised if Lebron was more assertive. 

but i think it is the same as people who say Lebron has to be on ball to do well, so it will take from Simmons. I don't think he has to be, i think it is more due to him not having a good floor general so he fills the gap. Same with the times he probably weighed in on decisions. but that is why you need a good front office too, to kind of say "thanks Lebron, good point, but we are going this way instead because .....". not that hard, unless you are not a strong franchise (which as it looks now, the Sixers are on the bottom of that ranking)

I'm not saying Lebron himself told the Cavs who to pick and they did it but more so the Cavs bending over for What Lebron wants because they didn't want him leaving again. Also basing this off Pat Riley's report where he went into his office a month into his (LBJ's) MIA tenure trying to already get rid of Eric Spoelstra. The Poor treatment he had for David Blatt etc.  I saw it more of Lebron trying to throw his weight around as the best player in the world barking orders and people afraid to tell him no. I've seen people suggest BC firing and put David Griffin in Philly and get Lebron. I see that more as a bad scenario because Griffin is a guy who'd bend over backwards for whatever Lebron wanted to not lose him again and that can be incredible dangerous for the 76ers organization. There is asking your stars hey what do you think of this or that guy. But then theres flat out Hey what guys do you want on your team we want you as happy as possible. Given Lebron and Kyrie situation the Cavs were fast to pull the trigger to get Irving out of town and I think that was all to keep Lebron happy and hope he stays. Cleveland has made a lot of desperate moves to hope to Keep Lebron and that doesn't even seem to be working. It's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of the guy. people seem to bend over backwards for him to help him and he shows very little appreciation to those people.

I think perception is more important than reality. If free agents and more importantly Embiid think Colangelo may have trashed his own players and revealed private information its a huge problem regardless of whether or not he did it.  I don't see how he can keep,his job.

so the players were the ones complaining? let me guess, it was Evan Turner? Spencer Hawes? Maybe Kwame Brown? or even someone not in the organization, Luol Deng? If i am Deng i would scream to everyone who would listen if a GM doesn't want to overpay for some names at the same time taking away from the benefit of the team, that said GM is terrible

Whole lot of people talking there. All i know is the facts, SIxers were a middling .500 team before Hinkie with like 1 1st round pick in the next 3-4 years. After HInkie, they are one of the top 3-4 most promising teams with a right future for the next 4 years or so. I'll take that any day

Why do people keep talking about Lebron to philly?  That is the worst fit ever.  Let's surround him with non shooters...sounds good?  And if they were to sign him they would have to not sign their 3 point ace...it makes zero sense.

:shrug: it is obvious his current supporting cast is the best in the league,  but who knows. Maybe the schools for his kid? 

my guess is they make the championship game all 3 years, win 2 out of 3... if Colangelo and the ownership joke the SIxers are becoming don't f it all up

 
Klay questionable for tomorrow.  I don't know he didn't severely damage something in his knee the way his leg bent.  Roster getting thinner by the series.

You do know he never visited Philly to check out schools for his kids, right?  He called the story disgusting. He said he was visiting his new home in Los Angeles at the time.

They are one of the few teams with max money that can become a contender adding LBJ.

McConnell, Covington, Simmons, LBJ, Embiid would have tons of ball movement, size, and while none of those guys are sharpshooters everyone but Simmons can hit a 3. It won't be a Warriors style offense, but that team has LBJ and Embiid as ISO threats. It won't be pretty, but it's way more talent than CLE has right now.

Well let me play devils advocate for a minute. Say he wasn't the one who did it. Maybe it's someone else privy to this info the team trusted who it. Say Colangelo is fired and it's found out later it was a completely different employee. Doesn't that hurt the Sixers even more? They basically have a breach in the Organization and the wrong guy got canned? How do you think a player who signs the feels? If I'm an FA I'm staying far away from that mess until things are crystal clear there.

JC was talking to TEAM USA PLAYERS AKA Lebron, KD, Steph DeRozen, Butler and others who have been on the team. at least that's what it seemed the guy meant. He said JC talked to TEAM USA PLAYERS HE COULD CONTACT. He did this before taking the job or else he could've been in trouble for colluding with players not on his roster and under contract elsewhere. So the people you mentioned have nothing to do with the conversation. I know this is a deflection mechanism but non of the people were disgruntled former players or anything from what was gathered from the INFO. I actually did talk to this guy and he wouldn't divulge too much into actual details other then what he was told by others close to BC in the organization at that point. 

And they apparently have some pretty bad turmoil in the organization even after Hinkie left. I don't see it lasting long there. I can see Embiid leaving because he doesn't trust anyone anymore there despite a GM change after his deal or forcing a move. You already know my views on Simmons who Im not high on either. The guy did confirm the reports of in fighting with Hinkie and Brown and said something to the effect it was a lot worse then was reported in the media. It essentially came down to picking one and they chose Brown do to his pedigree in the league plus his experience with Pop. Hinkie went around the Offices for the Sixers like he had invented Basketball and some other people in Brown's camp were getting tired of Hinkie. And he apparently was pretty unprofessional with other GMs. Either way are the 76ers better off now then before Hinkie or the other stuff? Absolutely, but given the recent turmoil and all I don't see this being consistent success. Also Remember Boston didn't have their top 2 players most of the season besides 4 mins into the first game and have an absolute Star in Tatum who was consistent throughout the playoffs and could become even better.

Plus Simmons and Lebron are similar players. How the heck is that gonna work. I just don't see how Philly is a fit. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.

I was gonna complain about this on Facebook. Why the heck do we need 2 days of break before Game 2 IN THE SAME DAM CITY. These players are so soft today. I couldn't imagine these guys in the more physical 80's/90s league back then.

It has everything to do with players complaining about being tired. It's why the NBA changed up scheduling rules so teams didn't rest players all the time. It's the playoffs your in the finals. Suck it up butter cups or go home.

Honestly I can't see why people defend todays players. They complain about a dam hang nail. Silver even said they changed the schedule to not have many back to backs and more off days to help the player recuperated and not have teams sit star players.

2.  So?  More rest is a GOOD thing. I bet you hate it that the nfl players get to drink water at training camp in 90 degree weather these days.

No I thin today's athlete in general are pretty much entitled brats. They complain about stuff and get their way. If a player is complaint about being tired for games they obviously aren't doing enough training. These guys have the best advancements in technology at their disposal. Find a way to use it. They have better ideas on health and fitness use them, Don't have others do the work for you like make things easier for you because you don't want to put in the extra effort. 

That makes sense. But playing into entitled brats who don't want to put in the extra work because of "Too many back to backs" just makes me laugh. You are a professional athlete. If you aren't putting in the extra work to stay fit thats on you. Maybe spend less time on the social medias and stuff and more time in the gym and what not? Seems pretty reasonable no?

No. There is no merit to the story that Lebron was in Philly on the all-star break looking at a prep school. That was made up from whole cloth and leaked to the media as a rumor. Even Ben Simmons, who uses Lebron's agent, said he knew Lebron was in LA. The leakerliar/rumordorks later said it was a representative or something. Whatever. I get that Philly is favored to sign him. There's plenty of merit to that. But the all-star break story is debunked. And Los ####ing Angeles is where he was. Got it? LA!

 
In fact reading the link about how weird things are with Durant got me thinking. He got his ring but at some cost to his legacy. He's labeled the traitor who joined the best team in the league by abandoning a team that came closest to beating them. I get the criticism, but I love Durant. Funny how he seems really tuned into the noise, interviews, social media, whatever. He hears the criticism. He's barely listening to Kerr, doing his own thing sort of half-hearted knowing the Dubs got this. But he's not all in anymore. He has to fix his legacy. So he's joining Lebron in LA to take down the Warrior dynasty. /chaosdogg

In all sports or NBA. I think its a great idea if done correctly. Like salary caps and all. Hate the NBA's Free agency do to the formations of super teams and teams tanking. Needs a really hard cap floor and ceiling. I think the primacies of FA is great though.

The guy who said was the Sixers Color Commentator who's name I won't spell since I'll butcher it. He said his Brother or Brother in Law knew the real estate agent taking him around to look at houses and stuff. I think this was around the same time the Billboard thing happened. And yeah there's a lot of proof he was in LA at the time not Philly
