2017-18 NBA (Playoffs): A gasping, wheezing thread begs message board poster arguing how Jordan never lost a Finals to just let it die in peace (1 Viewer)

Durant's ridiculous shot-making, the Warriors passing, and the Cavs porous defense again showing up in the Finals.

I understand the impetus to get Steph a Finals MVP, but tonight Durant just took a commanding lead.

It was Jason Richards and he was as important to that team that year as curry and it was not an air ball and everyone should stop talking about this.
I'm in the camp that an airball is one that doesn't hit the rim.  Banging a shot off the backboard is worse than missing both.

Richards 12.7 ppg, Steph 25.9 ppg that season.  Wouldn't call them equal.

I promise you that you don’t want to argue this with a Davidson grad who watched the entire season.

it's absolutely incredible that JR Smith is the 2nd best player on this team

i wouldn't trust him to play 12 minutes a game on a losing team. yet here he gets 35+ per game.... in the Finals??
Love is the second best player on the Cavs and having a pretty good series IMO

Fair, you probably are more knowledgeable on it than I am then.  (not being sarcastic)

I know Steph had an insane 26ppg season though and was the center of that offense.  Richards hadn't hit a 3 all game and had 7 points and Steph was having another big game.  I think he could have gotten it closer than the massive brick that got thrown up.

Were you at the game too?  (Not snarky, just curious)

It's literally like watching an Allstar Team beat up on the rest of the league. This is a perfect example why Golden State is bull####. Curry had a terrible night and they still won because Durant was on. It's just silly to watch. Warriors ML -160 was an absolute gift.

as was -3.5

True, but with LBJ probably gone they might as well try to hang onto him as it won't be a hot job with no talent.
The Cavs will still have talent.  They'll have the rook they select at 8 and whatever young pieces they land when they ship Kevin Love (and anything else that isn't nailed down) out of town.

Not exactly Finals material (some would argue that's the case with LeBron), but hardly barren.  Now their owner on the other hand...

That's the thing with having this many of these guys.  At least one of them is ALWAYS going to be on.

And on the flipside, you can be off and it's no big deal.  Imagine if LeBron scored 11 points on 18% shooting.  The Cavs would lose by 1000.

Where do you see them finishing in the East next year if he's gone?  I'd say around 9th.

Sure Barry Bonds hit a bunch of home runs but we all know it's because he's on steroids. Whoever plays with Curry gets a ring. Durant has never lead a team to anything.

I think the only reason for them to play these games is for Stephen A, Capella, and Big fat Fatty McGoo the illiterate VP.  Other than that, makes no sense.

Forgot about that pick, how does this draft look? I know the pick isn't high enough to get a stud that would entice James to stay but assume draft is deep enough to get someone solid?

Fair or not, many will never give Durant his due as long as he only wins rings with this Warriors team.

Similar to how many never gave James his full due till he went back to Cleveland and won a title there.

Depends how young the roster gets.  If the top vet is Larry Nance and the leading scorer is a rookie or new 2nd year player that may be optimistic.  Seems about right overall though.

Ya... think they go after Young or Sexton if Lebron leaves.

I think it's okay to hate how KD ended up with Golden State without the egregiously sophomoric hot taekery.

He good.

I'm trying to convince myself right now.

Bonds was a Hall of Famer before his head started to grow, but you're on a Skip Bayless like roll tonight against the second best player in the world right now, so have fun.

Draft is very solid this year.  Difference making talent possible all along the top 10.  Cavs will have some very nice prospects on the board when they pick this year.
