2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (3 Viewers)

Can you, uh, let me know how he listens in on approaches?  :nerd:

DD, let me know how best to start selling the Air Force Academy.  I know it's damn hard to get into but he's got the grades so far and unlike his dad is squeaky clean.  Is there a better route to flying planes than that?
Will do.  Flight Simulator is a great start IMO.

Everybody loses to Bama.  He won a championship with Tea Martin.  That should have gotten him a lifetime contract.
He should have been given the Barry Alvarez treatment.

My brother had texted me today saying something along the lines of if I had told him 10 years ago that Wisconsin (he is a Badger alum...and we lived in Knoxville for a few years...him just in the summer when we moved) would be one game away from a National Championship playoff, and Tennessee would go 0-fer in the SEC and be this much of a circus he would have said no f’ing way.  Yet here we are.

I’m going to laugh my d!ck off when Fulmer recommends........Schiano. ??

I come from a small town in Western NC.  There were a lot of total morons in my neck of the woods, and at an alarming rate, many were somehow UT fans (the majority were NC State fans of course).

Anyway, because if this I developed a deep hatred for Tennessee football at an early age. For a few hours this morning I let all that go.  I was excited to see this fiasco turn into the greatest hire of this college football offseason. I was a Volunteer fan for a morning..

But UT officials wouldn't let Currie offer the job to Leach?

Now, I'm just disgusted with myself. For a few hours I let myself forget that this school and its fanbase are a cesspool of the very worst that humanity has to offer. I'll have to live with that forever.

But the good news is that whatever terrible hire that they make now will be on fat ### Phil Fulmer's head. So that'll be fun.

real cool that the pac 12 championship is tonight.   gives me something good to watch and less game conflict tomorrow.  they should do that more often when there's a bunch of good games on saturday.

From my boy bud Elliott:

Wait what? A&M fully guaranteed that whole contract (per ESPN TV)? Jimbo Fisher is going to make 20k/day for the next 3,650 days whether he wins a national championship or loses every single game? No way that ends poorly. Nope.

It's all guaranteed????

Jimbo will build some talent there. Will be interesting to see where he takes them v where Ogre takes LSU.  Ole MIss is dead, Ark needs a miracle with the Gus run, and now MSU loses their heart...the SECW may be a good long term landing spot, especially from Texas.

He's recruiting here now, instead of here.  We're about to see how good he is.

I think he'll do well. Doubt he wins a title there but that's a rare thing to do. Will he make even one playoff there? I would bet against it personally.

It's times like this I get sentimental...it was 11 years ago exactly that we were tracking planes thru the Rich Rod fiasco.
And the sting is still being felt from that decision.  #### Bill Martin

And that could be enough there, threaten the division title consistently and beat up on the bottom half of the SEC...replace LSU in the top 3 in the SECW...go 10-3 instead of 8-5 every year.

Worth 75M? They'll get tired of that I think.

how does that not get automatically reviewed?    replay official has been sleeping in this game.  and a terrible review to boot.

For all of those best win, worst loss arguments.  LSU has the worst loss in college football this year,  hands down.  (In case GM forgot to mention it, they lost to Troy at home).

BUT...

If you go strictly by the current CFP rankings, only 2 teams have as good or a better win than LSU and LSU beat one of those teams.

I'm not arguing that LSU should be ranked higher, just speaking to the nature of the best win argument.  And I'm drinking.

Wow that USC's first conference title since 2008???? Holy crap I would not have guessed that.
Devastating sanctions managed poorly by Haden, Kiffin, and Co...instead of taking their medicine they sold out to keep winning and crippled their future.

You know FSU was just paying Jimbo and his staff over 8M a year right? It was the 4th highest paid coaching staff in CFB.

I guess Oregon could pay Willie 10M a year and then ok? But that's not happening.

I'd bet against any SEC West team getting to the playoff as long as Saban is at Alabama.

What's weird that:

IT WAS LIKE A HOME GAME AT LEVI'S FOR THEM
Why is that surprising?  Pac-10 has 125 fans per team, if all of them show up at a venue, it seems like someone is interested in football out there.  All the Stanford fans are home planning how they can harness Trump's tax cuts, they could give a #### about football.  HTH

Yeah Oregon won't pay anywhere near that.  I think Taggart is a great recruiter but I don't think he is a very good game coach.  Florida State can recruit with any head coach so I find it weird they are so interested in Taggart.   I think they could do better.

Just because they aren't rednecks does not mean they don't watch football

Georgia wins tomorrow.  Might not be a blowout, but it should be comfortable.
I actually think Auburn wins. But my point was that as long as Saban is at Alabama, each year I'll expect them to win the SEC West (at least). Now may some other team in the West beat them out? Possibly. But I wouldn't bet on it.
