2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

Why is that surprising?  Pac-10 has 125 fans per team, if all of them show up at a venue, it seems like someone is interested in football out there.  All the Stanford fans are home planning how they can harness Trump's tax cuts, they could give a #### about football.  HTH
Just because they aren't rednecks does not mean they don't watch football
Plenty of non Redneck colleges have great attendance, that's not the point.  PAC 10 has terrible fans, everyone in the world knows this.

Yeah Oregon won't pay anywhere near that.  I think Taggart is a great recruiter but I don't think he is a very good game coach.  Florida State can recruit with any head coach so I find it weird they are so interested in Taggart.   I think they could do better.
They want to get young. He's the best young recruiter out there.

I don't think Wisconsin gets in tomorrow, but if they do you gotta figure they get stomped by Clemson or the SEC team. If that happens it  would be 3 years in a row the Big champ gets pantsed by an Sec/ACC team.

EVERYONE IN THE WORLD?

THIS STOPS EVERYTHING!

Memo to Doctor Detroit: LHUCKS IS STILL IN YOUR HEAD
Not really, LHUCKS is just a microcosm of Pac 10 fans.  It's awful football, meaningless football, the worst football.  The only team that has ever won was USC and they paid dudes big bucks to do that.  Oregon almost won that one time, but they are the TAMU of west coast foots.  They set records for losing bowl game leads, it's hilarious.  Pac 10 sucks, it just does.

I hope so, but it's unlikely.  Wisconsin has about the same strength of schedule as Ball State.
I hear you but I think they are good. That defense is really good. And quick (I know - WI).

And Hornibrook - he throws a lot of picks. But he also throws some passes on a ####### line that only Favre could throw. He's not terrible.

And I don't think OSU is particularly good. Barrett is going to have to throw the ball against that D and I don't think he can.

WI - 24-13.

(I could be very wrong and OSU will win 55-3).

I think WI wins tomorrow because I think they are better than OSU. Who is ok but not great.

Clemson probably rolls them (after they roll Miami - which they will) but I do think this is the best WI team ... ever?

Well, I don't watch NCAA football because of region or conference. I watch a lot of Pac 12 football because I live in California. What I love about college football is that you can watch an offense from the 1950's compete against a modern offense. To me, it's still the genus of American football,

Yet I still yell HOOK EM HORNS because I am a Texas fan

Yeah says FSU guy who saw his U pay 3/4 of a million bones to make an ### rape case go away so they could win a title.  :lmao:
Yea Oklahoma hasn't buried any bodies. Lmao

first google search:

"Former Oklahoma Sooners defensive back Lawrence “L.J.” Moore was arrested last week after being accused of pimping for ex-Sooners cheerleader Micah Madison Parker."

imagine being an OU fan and thinking your program is clean.

Hey Joe Mixon knocked a woman out, got caught on video but he's still going to play so we can beat 7-loss Auburn in the sugar bowl.

I mean, Barry Switzer was their coach.
Amazing.

DrD is my boy but anytime he comes in here knocking the cleanliness in other college programs...well that's pretty much the dumbest shtick ever. OU is a prison team come to life, in a state full of rednecks and racists and people who burn crosses in their yard for light.

Yeah because LJ Moore was somehow important.  He played like five games for the program, then he was gone because he was a scumbag.  No coverup, no money paid to secure a title, just a ####### that every team recruits.  Trey Metoyer was the best 5 star recruit ever and he was dismissed after he puled his pants down and placed his junk on a window.  Nothing comapares to Jamis, not Reggie, not SMU, nothing.  Crab stealing, ### raping, 1.1 GPA obtaining ####bird.  I think tOSU would have even suspended him.

Jimbo played along, so he'll be great at TAMU who has the lowest of standards.  Good for him.

Did you really like Capella's cross burning post?  WTF is wrong with you?
Oh shut up. You know that state is a ####hole. You bang on trump and dumb hicks all the time and then act like freaking Oklahoma is Oregon or something. Hypocrite.

Oklahoma is the Midwest Alabama or Mississippi. Stop pretending it's not.

Your team had a video of a man knocking out a woman and then let him play again. Stuff it.

It was only the Alamo Bowl and we do not speak of it

Most of that was shtick, Oregon is a program I respected in the Chip Kelly days for sure.

OU would be in this playoffs if they don't have to play tomorrow.  They played nine conference games and already beat TCU, and winning tomorrow probably doesn't improve their position much if at all.  But in today's game you have to play this extra game to prove your worth, and if TCU wins tomorrow then they should be in the conversation for the playoffs because they lost twice this year and once was to OU on the road.

If OU can't beat TCU on a neutral site how are they gonna beat Bama, Clempson, or Auburn in a month?  College football is a strange character but I believe in earning your place.  Every game is an elimination game, prove your worth.

Go OU, Wisconsin, and whatever else happens.  Just have some good football and some weird stuff, and let's all be friends for a minute.  @whoknew and @Capella you guys know I  you.

Not a Wisconsin fan but the name Hornibrook makes me giggle.  And he can play a little too.

I think tOSU beats them decisively but not a blowout. Like 30-17.

Of course I've been selling the Badgers short quite a few times this year and that hasn't worked out too well.

This.

Offense is fun but both Oregon and USF were undisciplined, taking a bunch of penalties and overall bonehead plays. Some if his game/clock management decisions were questionable.

I think he's a good college coach but not a guy to build a top program around.

I do think this is the best WI team ... ever?
2011 would like to have a chat. At any rate, there's lots of local talk around here that this is the most important game in Wisconsin history. A B1GCCG that we've been to 5 of 7 times already.

Look, I get it. I know who we are. The Badgers have had a nice run in the past 25 years or so. Consistent bowl games, well over .500 record, conference championships here and there, etc. There was some coaching drama but it's hard to replace Barry. I think we're set for the next decade or so, now though. But Bucky is at best a tier 2 team who can just hope to be in the national conversation every 5 years or so. Most of fans are delusional and expect some sort of national respect. Well they need to win a big one. Until then....

Look at the number of 4 and 5 star recruits on the current top 8 rosters:

Clemson: 40
Auburn: 45
Oklahoma: 37
Wisconsin: 6
Alabama: 69
UGA: 54
Miami: 25
Ohio State: 63

Hard work and walk-ons are great feel good stories for the downtime of a 48-3 blowout vs Illinois. It works here in the B1G West, but win a big one. Win 2 of them. Maybe that gap will close even 5% and then you win a third. Then maybe some national respect will come.

Bucky by 17 btw. Book it.

LSU with 52 and we can’t beat Troy.....

I work in insurance.  My colleague who is a huge WWE nerd told me about this a while back.  Kane is a quite successful insurance agent and community leader.  In addition to being a demonic wrestling boogie man.   :D
I’d buy insurance from him. :oldunsure:

The Tennessee GOT reference is pretty solid.  It's much deeper than what people know.  If you have 20 minutes, watch this....if not, just read the synopsis.  Say what you want about Clay Travis, but he knows his UT stuff.

https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/game-thrones-meets-tennessee-athletics/
Fascinating. So don't expect Peyton at any UT games soon.

Okay, fast forward now to 2017, Dave Hart steps down as athletic director and Phil Fulmer desperately wants to become athletic director at Tennessee.

His final interview occurs in the governor’s mansion. (Yes, the governor’s mansion occupied by Bill Haslam, the governor, and son of Big Jim.) There are only three people present for Phil Fulmer’s interview to become the Tennessee athletic director — Jimmy Haslam, the owner of the Browns, Peyton Manning, and Beverly Davenport, the chancellor of the university.

Fulmer interviews, feels great about his chances, and then a bombshell drops — there’s a secret candidate — John Currie is the hand picked athletic director by the Haslam family. (There’s an interesting debate among the boosters about why Peyton Manning has so closely allied himself with the Haslams. The general consensus is because Peyton, Eli, and Archie want to own an NFL team when Eli’s career is over and the Haslam’s money and connections can help make that a reality.) Regardless, Peyton Manning calls many of the top boosters at the University of Tennessee who have been supporting Phil Fulmer’s candidacy and explains that Fulmer “began the race two touchdowns down and could never make it up.”

So John Currie is installed as the next Tennessee athletic director.

Interesting (at least to me) is that the Clay Travis story makes no mention of the Fulmer faction sabotaging the post-Schiano hiring attempts. Instead it concentrates on how terrible a choice Schiano was. (And perpetuates the story of Schiano in court transcripts that were really hearsay.) Have to wonder if this is his attempt to ingratiate himself with the new regime.
