2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (3 Viewers)

Alabama doesn't even play and moves up in the rankings.   1 less game played and rested and make the playoffs.  No risk of injury.   Saban is a str8 PIMP and the CFB committee is his bottom biyatchh

Sorry but Bama didn’t earn that. The only argument they had was the eyeball test and looking at their schedule this year it’s hard to know if it’s built on a house of cards. Guess we’ll see in a few weeks.

Yep.  Auburn beat them.  Auburn won their division.  Auburn had to play another game which helps Alabama.  So f-ing stupid.  Auburn, USC, and Ohio State all have better resumes than Alabama.

Holcutt trying to justify the reason for Alabama is also comical.   Maybe the big 10 can push for an expanded playoff?     Was hoping Alabama got left out to push for an expanded playoff.

At least they're consistent. They did the same thing last year with tOSU sitting at home for B1G championship game.

It also says don't play games like Oklahoma vs Ohio State.  The loser is hurt and it's better to play Mercer or Akron and get another W.  If Ohio State is 12-1 even with the Iowa loss they are in.

I just don’t think they were ready to let a two-loss team in.  Saw that last year with my own Nittany Lions.  Having a team with Alabama’s pedigree out there with just one loss made it easier on the committee.  Someday they may have to do that, but today is not that day.

Galloway knows not what he's talking about.  Basing the outcome of 1v4 on how Alabama has played the last few games is way beyond silly.  They will be finally be healthy on defense and ready to play.  When's the last time they've lost two games in a row?

Playing in the Sugar bowl on the fast turf may favor them as well.  Clemson's one loss was in the Carrier Dome on artificial turf.  I'd rather they play each other at the Orange Bowl or in Tampa again, or Fiesta.

But you have to beat who's placed in front of you.  so, LET's GO TIGERS!!

Hell if I know.  I always thought it was the highest ranked B1G/SEC/ND playing an ACC team.  But everyone on twitter (and McMurphy has confirmed) that the B1G champion doesn't go there.
It's in the conference's contracts with the Orange Bowl.

As on OSU fan, this is the best outcome for me. OSU won't get stomped in the playoff, and it opens up the ####storm that playing Mercer is better than playing Oklahoma, and continues the ####storm that conference championship doesn't matter (even though they say it does).

I just pulled over between pet store and Home Depot and took a shot of whiskey.  Don’t tell my wife. RTR!

Only one thing can make the scenario better and that is Bama getting trounced round 1.

Hold on man. Alabama played FSU in a game which everybody thought was  a Top-5 matchup going in. That's the game you compare to Oklahoma.

The irony is the SEC gets 2 teams in during what was probably its worst conference season in 2 decades.

No you don't.

The biggest problem with college football is pre-season rankings. Just stop.
The point is, they scheduled an elite OOC opponent just like OSU did. It was mostly beyond their control that FSU ended up being bad.

You're acting like they scheduled Mercer in lieu of scheduling a game like the Oklahoma game.

Think I'll end up rooting for Georgia, but would be fine with Oklahoma too. Don't want the repeat and never want Bama.

All of them do. That's the problem. Nearly all the teams only schedule one decent out of conference game. If you want more decent out of conference games, then punish them when their one decent OOC game ends up being a dud. There shouldn't be cupcakes on any team's schedule. unless they don't give a #### about the national championship.
