5.05 Mr. Irrelevant (FBG 10B) Bryant, Martavis PIT WR 3:46:26 p.m.
What's team FBG think of this guy? Haven't been targeting him anywhere and wasn't planning to go WR-heavy early with all the mid-round picks I've traded myself into, but a mid-5th round price seemed cheap given the potential upside. If he's back in camp and looking like his old self, I think he'll be closer to a 3/4 turn pick by the G/H drafts.

I'm all in on Bryant and honestly he was on my short list if one of Hill/Pryor were gone....personally I think it was a great pick and if he wasn't going to make it back to me in A...I am REALLY glad it was you that got him.....kinda pissed at you actually a little too...everything I have seen said he is just in beast mode right now (I know that term gets overused now)....even though he hasn't been reinstated and able to practice.....huge value IMO even compared to his teammate Brown...great snag IMO

Got the 6.03c coming up shortly, and I am not thrilled with whats there.   Thinking Brandon Marshall or a TE (have kelce)

Any thoughts?

Marshall, Ware, Hyde, Lacy, Woodhead
IMO Lacy and Woodhead will still be there a round from now. If you want either of them I'd try to trade down.

Personally I'd grab Hyde but I've always been a Hyde apologist.

ETA: Actually Woodhead probably won't be there - I was thinking Anarchy rules, not PPR. I'd still lean Hyde though.

Traded all my even round picks for the same pick in another draft (D's for F's).  Always wanted to do that, as I think it could be advantageous to have your hand in multiple drafts at that level (i.e. with so many pick).

   I'm admittedly a rook but it seems like pick diversification is a no-brainer in these.

To that end, if anyone else in the D-H drafts is reading this thread and wants to make some 0% Dodds deals with me to jump into early drafts, let me know. I've got a ton of mid-round picks (a 7th, three 8ths and three 10ths) but not much exposure to the late drafts overall.

yea, Im not targeting QBS early at all.  Been following all the draft prety closely, actually been keeping a tally of all 3 drafts running so far, for my own info and to gauge where players are going better.
In general, how many of the 12 teams in a given draft will take a backup QB? (Besides FBGers, who of course know better).

I'm mentally reserving a late-rounder for my QB slot but if a bunch of teams are gonna take backups I need to account for that. I'd rather spend, an 11th-rounder on Rivers than a 17th on Bortles or Flacco.

Hey guys....I guess for some reason I had visions of Woodhead making it to my 7.12 pick as I was hoping to add him as my RB2...but looks like he my be going way earlier than that....if you guys see an opportunity where something can be worked out I would like to take a look...

there were 201 qbs drafted last year

Is this the league where we HAVE to draft a starter at each position because first WW runs after Week One?

Ref and I took five of those all after the 11th round. Two I am them or traded during the draftand I took five of those all after the 11th round. Two I am them or traded during the draft
Thanks for the info. Wow, 201 for 92 owners, that's a ton more than I expected. Looks like I'm not reserving my last two picks for QB and PK after all.

@BassNBrew - if you're out there, take a look at draft C and tell me if you see any value. My 7.03 will probably be OTC tonight or tomorrow morning and I'd rather swap straight-up for your pick in G.

Ah, looks like I've missed a bit. I can't access anything from work anymore, and since I am drafting in H, I haven't checked in here. Anyway, what's the password for me to link to my draft? I am logged in to the main board but I'm unable to get log in/link to draft H.

I never thought of this until last night, but if my two drafts that I am in (every other pick next to the turn) run close, I am going to have a bear of a time auto-drafting.  I can see myself loading up before the overnight and ending up with two of the same guys.

I've got a bunch of 6th-11th rounders in the middle drafts, so if you run into a spot where this could be an issue, send me a PM and I can pick one of them up and do an intra later on.

Probably not a big deal past the 12th round or so as I can't imagine drafts being so close to the same pace at that point.

RB - D. Murray

WR - Nelson, M. Bryant, Decker

TE - Kelce

3.07, 6.11, 8.07, 8.07, 9.11, 10.3, 10.07

11.06, 13.10, 14.03, 15.12, 17.10, 18.03

Random observations through the first half of the A-B-C drafts ...

  • These drafts have been amazingly consistent so far ... the first round of each draft had exactly 5 RB and 7 WR go (except for A where some nimrod took A-Rod at 1.11), each second round had exactly 5 RB, 6 WR, and Gronk, and each draft through 3 rounds had 1 QB, 13 RB, 20 WR and 2 TE. Interesting to see whether and how this mix changes in this week's drafts.
  • Just IMO but the 6th-7th round area seems like a dead zone to me. Most of the RBs have either low ceilings (Powell, Perkins, Blount) or low floors (Henry, Gillislee, Lacy). I'd rather either reach into the 4th for someone like Crowell / Mixon or wait until the 9th/10th and grab an upside play like Hunt or Perine ...
  • Similarly I don't see a lot of difference between the WRs going there (Marshall, Moncrief, Maclin, T. Williams) and guys like D-Jax, Thielen, Matthews in the 9th-10th. TE might be an option in the 6th-7th or I might think about trading those picks for something like a 4th and 10th.
  • B has been consistently running a round behind A and C, so for later drafters looking to lateral in to the mid-rounds that's a good place to look ...
More as they occur to me ...

You've really taken to this format Mr. I :)

Anyone seen Ruff? Or know what he wanted at 1.01?

People getting antsy wanting to see the DEF drafts do something. ONly one pick so far between three drafts

So sometimes you have to be careful for what you wish for....taking the 12 hole has been a little tougher than I thought as I felt I have had to reach a half a round or even a full round plus for some guys and don't have the advantage of being able to take the temperature of the other boards like the later drafts do....several of picks I just sat  there and thought, I have no idea if they will make it 20+ picks back to me or not....really started questioning how bad I was reaching....so far just been going with my gut.....and taking guys I like even if a massive reach. Not really going to do much trading unless to help a teammate.

6.01 Matt Ryan QB5 ATL

1.12 Davonta Freemen RB5 ATL
8.03 (B) LaGarrette Blount RB PHI
9.12 Samaje Perine RB36 WAS
10.01 James White RB37 NE

2.01 Michael Thomas WR7 NOS
3.12 Tyreek Hill WR20 KC
4.01 Terrelle Pryor WR21 WAS
7.12 Corey Davis WR39 TEN

5.12 Martellus Bennett TE7 GB

QB: In these leagues I don’t like to try and figure out a week to week QBBC and prefer a plug and play even if I have to pay a little extra for it.  6-7 turn felt about right.

RB: We only have to start one RB so it was kind of nice to get a solid one early and then be able to see how things shake out.  With Ryan and Freeman, I have a pretty good lock down on some of the ATL scoring. Took Decker with my 8.01 for Mr. I and then used his 8.03 for Blount.  Obviously not much PPR for Blount but he could be good for double digit TD’s and probably has as much chance of getting in the end zone each week as anybody outside the top 5 RB’s or so.  I decided to take two chances so far in this draft.  One on Corey Davis and the other on Perine.  Perine was a tough call as early indications seem to indicate that Kelly came in in better shape.  Was looking for HR potential since he seems to be oozing with talent.  White is going to be on a bunch of my teams as I feel the pass catching back in NE is a nice piece to have.  Startable in a pinch and potentially flex worthy most of the season.  I guess I have more confidence than most that BB and Brady are sold on him and that he will be a part of the game plan each week in some way.  Including red zone possibly. I prefer White over Riddick and Duke.

WR: I feel my top 3 will be plug and play, so that’s why when it came to Davis I was willing to roll the dice that he is one of the rookies who dazzles us this year even though lots of competition for catches on a running team. Thought his potential upside higher than anything left at WR.

TE: I went kind of old school at the 5-6 turn and looked at filling out my starting lineup, but also 6 TE’s were gone and Bennett was my target going in.  Felt I had to snag him here as not sure he would make it to next turn.

Bummers: I was really hoping to add Woodhead as my RB2 and I wanted to somehow snag Martavis Bryant.  Also at my last turn (9-10) I would taken a sniff at Terrance West and even Dak Prescott had they made it.  :banned:

Newbies,

Make sure you know when your draft kicks off...DEF this morning at 9am EDT.  GH go next week at 9:00am.

I'll always have a soft spot for auctions, but in 20+ years of doing snake drafts this one might be my all-time favorite. Just glad it caught me during a slow week at work.

My apologies Gents. Did have a pre-draft in but didn't expect it to run. Knew the draft started today......been waitin on it. Got a late call late yesterday to work today but had to leave at 4 AM Eastern. Unfortunately didn't have service at jobsite. So happy a commish looked and pushed it through. Thanks to whoever did that.

No problem...happens in at least one draft every year, and everyone understood

I just was concerned about getting accused of milking the clock to make a point. I did not do that here and I will pre-draft most of the way....as is customery for me.

DOn't think anyone thought that. Like I said, it's a known issue at MFL

SO I tried to move back, as I do every year...but didn't have any immediate offers. (Maybe because I'm normally in an early draft?)

Wasn't terribly excited at my first pick, but McCoy had gone earlier in every other draft, so I took him at 1.09E. I had hoped to move back 3 or 4 picks and maybe get Gordon for my RB1. Maybe I can move him later? IMagine my surprise when Gordon was still available at the 2.04.

Got both guys 2-3 picks later then they've been going. Couldn't have done this in previous years before the rule changes. Still might dangle McCoy for a stud WR1 later
