2017 White Sox: BEEF! (2 Viewers)

Amazing what pitching and defense can do for a team. 14-6 while averaging 3.4 runs per game? Who does that, let alone in the AL. Thankfully offense showing signs of life with the 10 they put up tonight which was the first time they scored more than 7 runs this year

Another shut out. Team ERA is sparkling. Saves approaching double dip.

Now the dreaded trip into Baltimore. Danks. Uggghhhh.

From what I understood, Hawk was supposed to do road games. My guess is that either there aren't enough nice golf courses in the Toronto area, or the weather wasn't going to cooperate with him playing. Therefore, he didn't bother going.

Well that lead was never going to hold up. They gotta do something about Danks. He is completely ineffective. Hate losing to this $;@#%*# Baltimore team!

Of the 119 pitchers with the small sample size of 20 innings pitched this year, Danks checks in at 113th with a -0.4 WAR

Those below him are Corbin, De La Rosa,Neise, Fister, Lirano and Bud Norris (shocked to see Lirano on there)

His ERA and FIP is 5th worst,  xFIP is 3rd worst

Abreu heating. Pitching and defense. Long term - they need to bolster the starting rotation. Looks to be the weakness after the top 3. Hoping Rodon can take a big step forward.

 
I'd change the title to celebrate the Danks move, but Eephus hit the nail on the head in Gobbler and I think #DOIT4DRAKE is what's giving this team it's mojo.

Bryce Harper may have slumped recently, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t had a fantastic start to the season. He’s two homers shy of the league lead, and both the league leaders above him play half their games in Colorado. He simultaneously owns one of baseball’s best walk rates and one of baseball’s best isolated-slugging percentages. Bryce Harper is the man. Numbers weren’t necessary to make this point. All in all, Harper’s offensive performance to date has been worth nine runs above average.

Adam Eaton‘s been better. Not with the bat — Eaton’s just putting up his typical 117 wRC+ again. No, Eaton’s been better than Harper’s bat with his glove. Using Ultimate Zone Rating, our default defensive metric here on the site, Eaton’s glove has been worth a league-leading 9.6 runs above average. Use Defensive Runs Saved, where Eaton is running laps around the league with 12 runs saved, and it gets even better — Eaton’s defensive performance becomes equivalent to Mike Trout‘s season at the plate.

An interesting stat from tonights game. 2016 WS are .020 worse in batting average versus 2015 team but putting up 2.4 more runs per game (6.1 to 3.7). Errors are at 14 versus 26 last year. 

My numbers may be a little off but that's pretty close to what they flashed on the screen.

They have yet to really hit their stride offensively. They can do better and will. This team is built to score runs via all facets of MLB. They threatened to do this in last night's game and finally busted through. Versus the Red Sox they had similar chances but could not capitalize. They are exciting. It's been a while. They signed players that can play and shredded the players that could pick up a fat check and deliver very little. They need back end help but it will be a good year. 

 
There was only one positive tonight. Saladino showed he should be the SS of this team. Without him, Quintana's line's a whole lot worse. The organization owes nothing to Jimmy Rollins, he can ride pine of the next 120. If he doesn't like it, he can follow LaRoche out the door.
