2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

CS is nothing but a distraction and rock for people to hide behind to justify OSU behavior.  This continues to be the correct answer and it's not even close.  And yes, I am even ignoring all the other shady #### like Urban deleting all his texts after asking how to do so.  The above is all that matters.  There are proper procedures and protocols outlined in Title IX.  He either checked the boxes or he didn't.  The rest is deflection.
Given my understanding of the investigation, the only proper procedure and protocol Urban didn't do is file the written report. Obviously that puts the University at legal risk, which is a BIG issue to the University. But I seriously question if not submitting it had any negative effect on Courtney, or if submitting it would have benefited her.

According to the investigation, Urban learned of the 2015 investigation from Gene Smith, who learned of it from Miechelle Willis, who learned of it from OSU police. The proper procedure and protocol was for Urban to submit a written report of what he had just learned to.... Gene Smith and Miechelle Willis. It's already been fact checked that in October 2015 Willis was the person in the role Urban was supposed to submit the written report to (in addition to Gene). Urban's written report, had he submitted one, would not have included anything Urban had learned that Gene and Miechelle didn't already have. By not submitting a written report, there was nothing Urban had learned that was held back, causing a negative effect on Courtney, nor anything Urban had learned that was held back, that could have benefited Courtney. His failure to submit the written report had zero impact on Courtney. All it did was put the University at legal risk.

Its amazing what the Big Ten East will do in the name of sports. PSU, OSU, MSU, MD. Pretty gross.
I had this thought earlier - I know same stuff could happen anywhere but having four prominent schools in the Big 10 or whatever they are called nowadays have these kind of scandals is disturbing.

As I said..... he either followed the rules or he didn't. The rest is deflection and/or :hophead: to make one feel better about the events (my guess as to why people are making it about more than that anyway)

Got a buddy who's been working for the University of Hawaii for awhile.....seems like this game is a big game for the program given the hurricane.  Cool to see them up 16 at the half despite being 14 point underdogs.

In the context of what should Urban have done to help Courtney, it's simply being honest.

As I said (which you removed), Urban's decision to fire Zach at any time in the whole history is not a decision to help Courtney. It's a decision to help the University save it's public image.
It's an appalling argument in any context.

Hey @Brett_McMurphy - quick few questions... because you’re an OUTSTANDING “journalist” 1. How’d you get that interview with @CoachTomHerman as your first interview at @WatchStadium? 2. How come you didn’t ask him about the alleged strip club incident that you reported about?

https://twitter.com/CoachZachSmith/status/1034858588777467905

Furthermore... @Brett_McMurphy 3. Did you ask him about the ensuing few days? 4. Have you vetted any credibility in ANY of your reports? I am waiting for one thing that is accurate beyond a name change or photoshop session. I will see you in court you clown.

Smith is either making his hole so deep he will never get out or he is pretty confident to call this guy out. I think there is a court case in the very near future?

If this idiot takes McMurphy to court this could make a horrible situation for Ohio much worse. I am not a lawyer, but if they can force Drake, Smith, the “investigation” team, and Shelley and Urban to testify, then the damage train will just keep rolling.

"U up," Armstrong wrote in a text message to Meyer. "Laura and Colleen would like to be at your place at 11. They anticipate that they will need 4 hours with your phone. As well as some time with you and Shelley (Urban Meyer's wife)."

"All good," Urban Meyer responded. "Available all day."

"The "Laura and Colleen" mentions in the OhioState doc dump I'm told are Laura Hoey & Colleen Conry who were part of Urban Meyer's legal team & coordinated the preservation & imaging of his phone that day for purposes of the investigation," Feldman wrote. "The attorneys from the Ropes & Gray firm imaged/preserved Meyer’s cell so they could have a record of all the information. If they deleted messages they risked being disbarred. Conry (by the way) is a former federal prosecutor."

If Urban deleted all texts from his phone from older than a year (which could still be retrieved if he didn't deep 6 it) all could come out either way in any court proceeding because they backed it up.

Lowest of the low

Even if the Spock theory that it's all about a nutbag wife were true, this Tweet would solidify Zach's place as a total dirtbag.
His kids started school this week, so their experience of hell from this whole ordeal just started. They've done nothing to deserve any of this, and the potential for kids to get hurt in the whole mess is why the real legal system resolves domestic disputes privately. The dispute of whether or not Zach committed DV against Courtney was resolved three years ago and their kids suffering in the mess was minimized. It's ridiculous that the public even thinks the DV accusation wasn't resolved, and his kids are suffering due to that ridiculousness.

Spock, I understand that you are on an all Kool-Aid diet at this point. My point was, as I said, that even if everything you believe were  indeed fact that is a dirtbag Tweet. He's exploiting his children in an attempt to manipulate emotions, when he should be shielding them from further exposure.

They are already 100% exposed thanks to his wife taking it public because she didn't get her way in the real legal system. His twitter tirade was a reaction to what they experienced in their first week at school from already being publicly exposed. His kids know the truth. They probably know it better than anyone given they lived with Courtney and Zach when they were married. But them responding with the truth on the playground is a waste of effort given how much the narrative is controlled by the media running with shock value. Zach has nothing else to lose at this point, so at least what their dad and their two grandmothers are saying on Twitter and Facebook gives his kids some support as they respond with the truth at school, even if people are going to write it off as family bias.

As for being an all Kool-Aid diet, you can go back to the first few days when the story broke and read my posts where I was on the side of conclusion the court of public opinion jumped to. I was pissed but I was sure Zach did it and Urban was gone. My mind started to change a few days later. Maybe my mind was willing to change because I'm a OSU homer. I'm okay with that. I'd rather by open minded because I'm a homer than be closed minded for any reason at all. My mind changed because numerous people came forward to corroborate Zach's side of the story, and no one ever stepped up to corroborate Coutney's. And even today we learn there are documented inconsistencies in her story. It's harder to remember lies than it is remembering the truth, and even harder to get other people to corroborate lies. I could be wrong, and she could really be a victim of domestic abuse, but a lot of people would have had to fail her for that to be the case.

If this was a Michigan scandal, knowing what I've learned, I wouldn't be wasting my time arguing for the side of Michigan like I am doing for OSU. But I would move on from it, unless I was  :fishing:  the Michigan supporters. I admit I have a history of fishing, especially in the college football thread. But if I'm being fished here, I'm okay responding to the trolling, as this truth needs to be brought to light given how ridiculous the current narrative is, and any reason for me to post the truth, even being fished, is a reason I'm good with.

You need to disconnect for awhile. You’ve chosen a very strange hill to die on.

Lost faith in W Kentucky already?  Might be a rough start for the badgers.
Well, I read an article about the Badgers offensive line eating at Red Robin and now I think they are destined for a championship.  Not even the mighty Hilltoppers can stop them this year.

Since the Wagering Thread is a shell of its former self, barely recognizable from the halcyon days of yore, I'll post my plays in here for all to fade.  Just buy me a cold one at the end of the year as a sign of thanks.

ROW TEH BOAT!!!!!!!

Looking forward to rooting for our Badgers this year when I'm not busy rooting for our Ducks.

In fact, I might try to put a little $$$ on Wisc to win it all this year.
Wisconsin is ranked way too high to have a good season.  We thrive as underdogs so we can play the disrespect card. Completely uncomfortable in the top 5 before a game has been played.

Come help make it great again.  Football season is the best season.

I guess LSU is an afterthought nationally, and I get it, but don't sleep on them.  Their defense is going to be insanely good, and maybe, just maybe they have a quarterback now.  I'm all over the under vs Miami and will probably take it on most games this season.

Jeffrey Wadsworth tells NY Times he resigned as Ohio State trustee an hour after Urban Meyer’s 3-game suspension revealed. "I didn’t feel I’d seen high-integrity behavior. You read the report; there’s things about emails, memory loss & that raised an issue of standards, values”

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/30/sports/ohio-state-trustee-resigns-urban-meyer.html
The memory loss was just the poop cherry on top of a big bowl of turd dessert.  Medicine made me misremember.  What a crock of crap.
