2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (1 Viewer)

BC has a little issue with its punting team. Three blocked punts returned for touchdowns in the last two weeks (and another they barely got off in Week 1 before it was blocked).

Vandy’s Defense is fine but I don’t think they can move the ball at all on ND. I guess if they get a bunch of freakish turnovers but I wouldn’t count on that.

Old Dominion at Charlotte now kickoff off at 4 p.m. Thursday.

East Carolina at Virginia Tech cancelled.

Southern Miss. at Appalachian State, ppd.

Norfolk State at Liberty, ppd. to Dec. 1 (if Norfolk State is not in FCS playoffs)

Other FCS games:

Tennessee State at Hampton, cancelled

Saint Francis Pa. at Richmond, moved to Thursday at St. Francis, 5 p.m.

NC Central at South Carolina State, ppd. to Nov. 24

Guilford at Davidson, kickoff now Thursday at 7 p.m.

Charleston Southern at Citadel, ppd. to Nov. 29 (if neither team is in FCS playoffs)
Should play all games at this time going forward.  http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/24669147/davidson-wildcats-beat-guilford-quakers-91-61

It was a record-setting night for the FCS Davidson Wildcats on Thursday against the Division III Guilford Quakers.

Davidson sailed to a 91-61 win that had people wondering if basketball season was underway.

Here are some key statistics in Davidson's amazing win:

Davidson set NCAA records for total yards (964) and rushing yards (685) in a game.

Davidson set program records for points (57) and yards (524) in a half while building a 57-26 lead at intermission.

The Wildcats averaged 15.5 yards per play.

Eight of the Wildcats' program-record 13 touchdowns went for at least 50 yards, and another one went for 40 yards.

Led by sophomore Tyler Phelps, Davidson's three quarterbacks were 8-of-8 on pass attempts for 279 yards and three touchdowns.

Five Davidson rushers had at least 80 yards and a touchdown, led by sophomore Wesley Dugger (14 carries, 186 yards, three touchdowns) and freshman Coy Williams (12-168-2).

Senior Corey Coppola blocked three kicks for the Wildcats.

Add in Guilford's 698 yards, and the two teams combined for 1,662 yards.

Ughhhhh this game is at stupid Jerryworld? When is the last time they did a gameday from a place where the game isn’t?

Kent State QB gets hit in the helmet by a Penn State player who lowered his own dome to hit him.  QB is half way down but trying to spin out of it when a 2nd Penn State player lowers the crown of his helmet to hit the QB again in his head.  QB's helmet comes off.  No flag for either shot.

BTW, I don't care about this game whatsoever, just thought it was funny.  Best part is the QB then had to leave the game of course.  Then Kent State ended up having to burn a TO to get their QB back in.  Such BS.

It would be cool if inside the turnover backpack there were more turnover backpacks.

USC will be debuting the “fumble fanny pack” for tonight’s game. Speaking of which I am huddled under some overpass in austin like a hobo trying to find the nearest Patagonia for a rain jacket.

Cappy, are FSU fans ready to run Taggart out of town yet?
I don’t know. I don’t talk to anybody that stupid.

Edit: Not really being snarky towards you but if anybody is making any determinations about a coach after 11 quarters, they are a moron.

Of course not.  However, his coaching skills, or should I say lack of coaching skills, is pretty obvious.  The penalties are mounting up as the team is undisciplined, game management is awful (see end of 1st half today), and play calling is terrible.

I looked on some FSU forums and they don't share the same thoughts of you on Taggart.

Most people, especially on fan message boards are complete idiots.

Play calling isn’t terrible. He’s doing what he can with one of the 10 worst olines in college football.

Game management at the end of the half? Do you think he told francois to throw that pass? That guy is making like his 16th start. He should know better. Sometimes it has to be on the player.

No coach in america could win with this oline.

I'll stake my claim now: Matt Campbell gets a big school offer in the next few years and everyone will be kicking themselves for missing out on him once he gets that opportunity.

I like Scott Frost but Husker Nation was out of its mind if they thought Mike Riley was the only thing preventing their team from returning to top-tier status. They've been on a slow decline since Osborne left and Frost isn't going to fix it anytime soon.
