More succinctly: He's making Iowa State actually not suck. If I'm a big school and I'm not stealing a big name, other than looking at coaching pedigree/tutelage, I'm looking for someone who helps a school perform abnormally like he's doing at Iowa State.

Dunno what his measurables are but #90 Sanders for Troy State was a load today. He was clogging everything up.

Yeah he does a good job. At this point just getting out of Ames with a win is good enough.

No celebration from fans or players as time expired. Supposed to win that game. We'll celebrate when we beat D1 type programs.

Leaving the Big XII over politics was a dumb move imo. Nebraska currently has zero players from the state of Texas on their football team, and they lost their biggest rivalry to boot. They were mad because they weren’t the big dog in the Big XII, now they aren’t even the big dog on the Iowa recruiting scene.

@Nipsey I wasn't taking sides before but us terrible programs have to stick together.

Florida State won't be relevant in January for at least 2 years.

You're probably right. Those FSU boosters talking now about fattening those envelopes, getting some talent back to the program. It's sad but we'll just keep winning the right way I guess.

I really wanted to write 10 at first and then deleted that for 5 and then just accepted reality.

Do you mean winning as in like winning 4 games? Or actually being a winning program? 

 
6-6 is a much more fun season than 8-4 or 10-2. Who knows what might happen! You might fumble on the 1 yard line in South Bend!

I think what you do is you just have empathy for the school, the faculty, the students and those fans. They can't do it the right way. They've never been able to. So they do what they have to do in order to win. I wouldn't want to win that way. It can't be as rewarding as winning via hard work and playing within the rules.

Man, I'm pulling the wrong kind of @Doctor Detroit in here by cheering for Vandy and UK. I'm pretty sure Kentucky is trying to buy wins and they suck far worse at it in football vs basketball.

 
If not for the week 1 OT loss to ####### Nicholls, Kansas would be 3-0 now. Corner being turned here.

Feel free to quote this when they finish 2-10, btw.

We gave up 42 to western michigan a few weeks ago. Even high flying Wagner scored 10 last saturday. At least you got that garbage time 7. What a program!

FSU is.....quite a program. Garbage this year however. At least our premier program has paid off more than one title that was only gifted to your overrated coach because a transcendent player came around. :yes:

I never realized you were such a fair weather fan. If team is good you strap on the foam finger, if it stinks then it's no big deal and the excuses come out. You got beat, son. You saw it. I saw it. The American people saw it. You'll get through it but don't deflect. Own it.

I'll trade with you.   I don't know what Vegas had for GT but we are horrible.  Assuming losses to Clemson, Georgia, Va Tech, and Miami we have to win the rest to hit the magic 6-6 mark for a bowl game.  It's mid-September.  Option football is fun once or twice a year but most weeks it's  :wall: followed by Paul Johnson blaming everyone but himself.
