2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

Syracuse is 1-2 vs teams with a pulse, hasn't beaten anyone really, and is ranked just behind UCF...not for long after a Sat spanking.

"Wat" exactly is difficult to understand?  I don't initiate conversation with you, I don't ask for your opinion, and I have no need to hear your thoughts.  I only respond to your inane posts if you quote me and make a comment towards me.  Or is it the old man jokes confusing you?  There's some quality stuff like quoting me saying "bye week" and turning it into a gay joke, or rhyming Marc with fart.  Good ####, my man.
You just called me out unsolicited. Then when I responded with a simple question, we get this disjointed and panty-wringing response.

Stop being an obtuse hick, TIA.

Obtuse Hick should be our cake leeg team name next year @FDAS
I’m not sure anyone who is a fan of OU should throw stones by calling someone a hick, but whatever. I don’t want to respond directly to his question since he’ll think I’m calling him out unsolicited, even though I was just responding to someone’s comment the other day. It’s not worth my time trying to explain that to the old and senile.

While true those two losses were on the road against the #2 team in the game - a team they had them dead to rights and blew it - and in OT the week after that game in a classic let down spot.  I think Notre Dame peaked against Stanford.  I'm not going to criticize them for what happened in September, but what we saw against Pitt and Northwestern left plenty to be desired.  Credit where credit's due, they made the two big plays in the 2nd half against Va Tech to blow that game open but that was very much in doubt in the 2nd half.

No one is going to confuse Syracuse with having a quality defense, but Notre Dame has shown they aren't consistent on offense if Dexter Williams is contained.  Make Book beat you then see if you can outscore them.  And I'm curious what the Irish will do vs. Dungey - haven't drawn many duel threat quarterbacks on their schedule.  Willis was really the only one and the one play withstanding I thought he did well while that game was still in doubt.

Agreed for the most part, though the bye was at the perfect time for the team to re-capture some mojo I think it lost. So far, ND has struggled with ball-control type offenses that can stand toe to toe with the defense (Michigan, Pitt), but this weekend will be an interesting scenario given Syracuse's up-tempo offense. Historically ND struggled against teams just like this, but that was more when Brian Van Gorder was still DC, so we'll see what happens this time.

I absolutely think this'll be a close game and could easily see it coming down to ND needing to grind out the clock and needing a first down to ice the game when Syracuse knows they are attempting to run. I've got it 35-31 ND with Syracuse hitting at least one big play for a TD and it coming down to the aforementioned scenario with that determining who really gets the final shot.

Yeah, that's been the scuttlebutt from some KU fans and these folks WANT it to happen.

Short of hiring Mangino back, who IS the man for the job? They've literally tried every type of man there is for this; young, old, fat, fit, black, white....it's been coaching suicide to come to KU too.  What up and comer wants to take this herculean task on?
Mike McCarthy went to a JUCO in Kansas

Syracuse is garbage.

You’ve outdone yourself again with that wit and charm.  In the past week, I’ve seen you nail a fart joke, a gay joke, and now a your mom joke. It’s the trifecta for comedy for people with dementia.

Whats with you only posting in the middle of the night?  Is that when you have to change your depends?

Army is 30 for 33 on fourth down conversions this year.

Bama tied at half with citadel.
Big debate among slums of my school is whether we would want an option coach if (as we all expect) UMass goes in a different direction after today.

Our AD has ties to a current option coach and I think it’s a good system to run in the Northeast. I wouldn’t be opposed to it, but I’m sure I’m in the minority.

Was favored by 55 and The Citadel has 0 pass attempts in the 1st half yet are tied.

Would this be the biggest upset in the history of college football ?  Sports ?
I believe the biggest point spread upset was Howard over UNLV last year, which was 45-ish.

Well, they did attempt one pass, but he was promptly sacked, which will go down as a run in CFB....

I know one I would encourage you to pursue

Jeff Monken has worked wonders at Army....
