All that really matters to the Big Ten and its network is that the Scarlet Knights replaced an FCS or weak cross-conference foe on the schedules of Big Ten members, meaning the league’s top teams can register another guaranteed victory, only now it counts as a Power Five conference win and mutes the voices of those bemoaning the pay-small-schools-for-wins system.

Seems to be the best explanation I can find.

 
So Alabama will stay number 1 until they lose the SEC Championship game to Georgia.   At that time they will be dropped to number #3 so they don't have to play Georgia again in the first round of the CFB playoffs.

Honestly I think they would be fine to drop the Auburn game.  Gives them an extra week to prepare for the first round.

What happened?  Mike Riley happened.  Nice guy but he checked out of the game years ago.  When he leaves a place, he General Shermans that ish.

Who really wants to play in Nebraska?  They haven't really been relevant since partial qualifiers ended.

 
I’m watching Sacramento State - Montana. 5 of 7 first half TDs were on plays of 50 yards or more. 

Defense is definitely optional west of the Mississippi.

I only caught the tail end after flipping back and was thinking that cbs could get me to watch a lot more commercials if they increased the number of hot barefoot chicks in flouncy skirts in their wraparounds.

 
To put that in perspective, ODU lost last week to the same Charlotte team I am watching in front of me right now. Charlotte = sub-good.

 
This comes from Virginian-Pilot Old Dominion beat writer Harry Minium, who reports that Virginia Tech and Old Dominion have agreed to play four more games from 2022-25.

That means the teams will meet seven times by 2025. The schools already scheduled a 2-for-1 deal from 2017-19 that includes two games in Blacksburg and one in Norfolk.

The new deal calls for the teams to trade home games, in Norfolk in 2022 and '24 and Blacksburg in 2023 and '25.

That's absurd. I'm not buying they have to play home and homes with ODU to be able to recruit the Hampton Roads area.

I once created a Madden franchise called the Norfolk Osprey.  They were pretty good.  Maybe we have shifted into that reality somehow.

ODU lost to Liberty 52-10, lol. And the QB that threw for 500 and accounted for 5 TD's today is their backup, the starter got hurt in the first series of the game.
