2018 MLB Regular Season Thread! Current thread batting average: .420 (3 Viewers)

There's a chance this could be the chance for Chance Adams.  He has outstanding minor league numbers but many scouts don't think his stuff will work against big league bats.  He's a fly ball pitcher and NYS is a bad place for that, even though his minor league HR/9 numbers have been solid.

Phil Hughes rebooted?

If I hear one more talking head idiot talk about Quintana not being an ace.....

:wall:

Fangrahps has him with the 7th highest SP WAR since the start of 2013.

Better than Bumgarner, Grienke, Stras, Archer

Red Sox close to acquiring Todd Frazier.

Have the Red Sox ever explained why they dumped Travis Shaw for a middle reliever? I know Shaw had his flaws platoon-wise, and poor defensively, but was still a solid player.

He was 27, hadn't shown much in the minors, and ended the year with an OPS+ of 90.

Turns out they were wrong on what he was going to be going forward, but there wasn't a whole lot pointing to him being anything more than at best an average offensive 3B.

Dumb move at the time, dumb now. No competent GM should value RP's so highly, or a decent, cost-controlled 3B so lowly.

Frazier, Robertson, Kahnle package to Yanks?
wow I hope they didn't give up much. This team hasn't won a series since early June and is getting shut out by Bartolo colon right now. They would still have huge holes at 1b and sp. This has to be a salary dump at least I hope it is.

For all 3 guys I would think it will take a solid return. Kahnle is pretty cheap for a few more years. Wonder if they are worried about Aroldis' health.

I see Rutherford, clarkin, and clippard are going to white Sox. Not sure who else and those are the rumored players right now. Ugh not a fan of this move at all. Rutherford is a good prospect and I don't mind trading him but for a starting pitcher. Not this.

Not sure what's not to like about it
