Just heard a radio cut from the Phillies game after the bullpen fiasco ....

It’s the start of the third inning, there’s no one warming up in the Phillies bullpen but there are nine guys doing jumping jacks.”

The material is endless @Eephus
What next, cotton uniforms?

Totally on point.

This was the defensive alignment Sisco was facing when he bunted down 7-0 in the ninth. Pathetic of Dozier or any other Twin to complain about Sisco taking advantage in this supposedly non-competitive situation when you're obviously playing as thought it's a competitive situation

Portland is forced to watch the garbage that is Mariner baseball.  I like MLB.  I hate the Mariners.  Can you give me even one iota of a rebuttal to the fact that Mariner baseball is and has been trash for 15 years?

Seattle has had all of 2 homegrown players make the All Star game since 1994.  ARod and Kyle Seager.  Talk about inept drafting.
Looking through their first rounders, they drafted some decent talent:  Adam Jones, Gil Meche, Jason Varitek, Matt Thornton, Brandon Morrow but traded them away .

I once thought Jeff Clement was going to be a stud fantasy catcher :bag:

@FranzkeLA:

KAPLER: Hoby, get out there
MILNER: But the game was postponed, Skip. The tarp is on the field
KAPLER: I believe in you
MILNER: I'm not even at the stadium
KAPLER: Try to get Freeman to chase
MILNER: Freeman? That was last series. We're playing the...
KAPLER: Excelsior!

He was the 3rd pick overall.  Look at this draft:

1. Justin Upton
2. Alex Gordon
3. Jeff Clement
4. Ryan Zimmerman
5. Ryan Braun
6. Ricky Romero
7. Troy Tulowtizki

Also in the first round....Andrew McCutchen, Jay Bruce, Jacoby Ellsbury (THE ####### GUY GREW UP IN OREGON - HOW THE #### DID THEY MISS ON HIM????).

And let us not forget Nick Franklin, Dustin Ackley, Danny Hultzen or the wonderful Phillippe Aumont.

I will say, the Mariners have been consistently the least interesting team in MLB for the last decade or so. At least the Padres have been a consistent source of good, cheap pitching for fantasy.

Watching a NESN broadcast for the first time in a long time (don't care about Red Sox baseball). Man, these are some condescending ####ers.

Felix Hernandez has 50 games where he allowed one run or less and did not get a win.  Let that sink in.
I did the Baseball-Reference query on this, just to see what showed up.

The actual number I came up with is 43 (44 if you use ER instead of R), which still is amazing.

He went at least 7 IP in 34 of those, at least 6 IP in 40.

Seattle went 20-24 in those games, scoring two runs or fewer in 19 of the losses.

Oddly enough, only 12 of the 44 did he give up 0 runs, the rest were 1 (or 2, in the one game that one of the runs was unearned).

On June 8, 2014 at Tampa Bay he struck out 15 in 7 innings and left in a scoreless tie. The Mariners scored five times in the ninth.

:lmao:  @General Malaise you know you can watch other teams through the inner tubes, right?  but please keep up the rant, it's top tier
I am not going to steal MLB and I sure as he'll won't pay for it.  I have a 15 year old car so when I listen to AM radio, it's Seattle.  This team sucks so hard the announcers have given up.  They act genuinely surprised when Seattle wins a game.

Serious question:  is there a ####tier team in all of sports than the Mariners?

I'm not a FBG but the rebooted Browns probably haven't won 116 games in their entire existence.

Look up the 2009 Mariners.  Know who led the team in Home Runs?  I could give you a hundred guesses without Google and you wouldn't come up with Russell Branyan. That is embarrassing - I would give up my allegiance at that point.  But no.....Seattle fans are ridiculously loyal and just accept their lot in life.

Seattle needs a power of attorney to step in and take over.  It's not fair to the rest of MLB that tries to play competitive baseball to have other teams play Seattle more than other squads.

You serious, Clark?  Browns were champions numerous times before the Super Bowl era.  That Seattle team flamed out on spectacular fashion and haven't been to the playoffs since.

At least Walter Payton got his Super Bowl.  Seattle completely wasted the career of King Felix.  At least Dan Marino made a Super Bowl.

Edwin Encarnacion gets an inside the park homer because Justin Upton loafs after a ball he thought was foul.  Just think about the amount of loafing needed for Edwin to circle the bases for a moment.  First non parrot arm HR for Edwin a while.

"Rougned Odor never gets cheated at the plate."

Any guy who hits 30 homers with a sub 700 OPS is cheating (fooling) pretty much everyone.  TIA.

Stephen Drew retires after a 12 year career.  He leaves the game with 17.1 rWAR over 4917 PAs.

Injuries and inconsistency hampered him in what should have been his prime and he never improved on his age 25 season.  He did manage to put it together once again at age 30 to help the Red Sox win the 2013 WS.  His career was strangely similar to his brother's in both respects.

His top ten B-R comps include some familiar modern players and a former AL MVP

  1.     Jeff Blauser (925.9)
  2.     Alex Gonzalez (922.3)
  3.     Robby Thompson (913.2)
  4.     Starlin Castro (901.0)
  5.     Ian Desmond (897.9)
  6.     Felipe Lopez (894.0)
  7.     Zoilo Versalles (892.9)
  8.     Eddie Bressoud (892.4)
  9.     Alexei Ramirez (890.6)
  10.     Asdrubal Cabrera (887.4)

I met Zoilo several times as I worked for his wife for a few years in high school. Nice enough guy. Probably the least deserving MVP ever.
