Nellie is a FA, been rumored to sign with Rays or Twins.Don't the Ms have Cruz already at DH? Im so confused by that whole trade.
Cruz is a FA. Edwin will likely be flipped again. The Mariners are actually the one team where I can see what they're doing.Don't the Ms have Cruz already at DH? Im so confused by that whole trade.
Sounds like no matter what, the rays will end up with an old, productive bat who will likely die by May.Scott Miller, whoever that is, is saying he is going to Tampa.
WHO'S THE IDIOT NOW?
Gus actually died two years ago.Was really expecting a shot at Gus Malzahn here. I'm a little disappointed.
Mariners have no need for him and they and they rays make trades weekly. Have to imagine it happens.EE may be flipped to Rays anyway.
That's impressive since he really didn't get rolling until age 29.380 career HRs is more than I would have guessed for EE.
An upgrade over Spangenberg and Asuaje I guessNot sure what the Padres want with Ian Kinsler, but they have him.
Manny machado's brother in lawYonder Alonso to the White Sox.
Someone will pay, someone always doesWhat are the chances these teams tell Harper and Machado to kick rocks? Just seems ludicrous to sign someone to that kind of deal.
He couldn't calibrate the nightlife in NYC, now he's headed to Los Angeles. Should work out well.Halos take a 1/$11 gamble on The Dark Knight.
1 year is not a bad gambleEpic Problem said:Halos take a 1/$11 gamble on The Dark Knight.
Nobody is getting 14 years. Machado and Harper will both end up with 10 year deals IMO. I know baseball is shying away from those long term deals but I don't mind giving them to 2 26 year old superstars that are just hitting their prime and will be 36 when the contracts expire. How often do 26 year old stars become free agents? I wouldn't mind the Yankees signing Machado. Put him at SS while Didi is out then slide him to 3B when Didi returns and put Andujar at his best "position" DH or use him as trade bait for a top of the rotation arm at the trade deadline. No reason Stanton can't play LF.14 years?!?!?
Paul Goldschmidt and Andrew Miller? Id say its a phenomenal offseason if it stops right there.I don't hate the Cardinals offseason so far, you guys. Don't hate it at all.
Could be argued that Puig is better than HarperWow looks like Dodgers clearing room for Harper
Lol. I know he's good but I hope they don't sign himManny's arrival to his meeting with the Phillies was the most Philly thing ever. All that was missing was Santa Claus and batteries.
I dunno about that. Defensively of course but they are on different levels offensively.Could be argued that Puig is better than Harper
Ill definitely take him. Im fine with 10 years too. Hes a ######## but a ######## who can play.Lol. I know he's good but I hope they don't sign him
Can Harper hit the cutoff man and throw to the correct base?Could be argued that Puig is better than Harper
his -3.2 dWAR says noCan Harper hit the cutoff man and throw to the correct base?
I dont understand signing an injury prone SS to play SS for an injured SS. But its the league minimum so I guess it doesnt hurt. I wouldnt be surprised if hes not on the team by April.Tulo is a Yankee
People may make Rays attendance jokes here, but that's only part of the story. This is in keeping with baseball's overall move to reduce the number of cheap seats in favor of premium seats, club sections and higher-revenue-generating gathering spots. Happening in all parks.
---
-- move all games to expensive cable TV packages;
-- prevent fans from streaming local games via blackout rules;
-- lower number of seats/increase price of tickets, parking and concessions dramatically;
-- wonder why only older, whiter, wealthy people watch baseball anymore.
They new stadium they are trying to get will only hold 25k.Rays closing their top deck (capacity now 26k) - I hadnt looked at it from this perspective, but this is definitely kind of crappy and limiting baseball's audience:
