I feel like I’m watching an early game from the world juniors or IIHF championships in Europe. All that’s missing is the Fiat in the corner.

 
Excellent first day.

I will be really interested to see how the round-robin games stack up, from an intensity and quality standpoint.

Other than the Bolts, can’t say I’m that interested in watching them. Very low stakes compared to the other games. 

 
still good hockey and I’m not complaining but every team has looked pretty sloppy so far.  but that was expected.

Winnipeg was on a whole other level though.  that was hard to watch.

Brian Boucher talked more from between the boards than Mike Milbury, the ostensible lead analyst. That was also welcomed for a lot of reasons. An underrated highlight of the night, to that end, was Milbury saying Malkin wasn’t noticeable a moment or two after NBC ran a graphic showing that he had six shots.

 
it's cute how all of the Bruins players need to stand so close to each other and wrap their arms around each other during the anthems. Definitelty after seeing their pre-game hijinks in the locker room, definitely not surprising. they are a cute little team.

Bruins score goal that deflects in off Haags skate and they cut to zoom meeting of despondent Flyers fans.

8 seconds late Phil Myers restores 2 goal lead and I was disappointed they didn't go back to that zoom meeting.
