Brennan will be the QB next years pending any incoming transfers.  He should be a good one, but nowhere near as good as Joe.  He is 10-1 to win the Heisman as of now.

I am extremely happy for O.  He is the definition of keep working hard and good things will come to you.

Apparently he was buying their jerseys.  If it had only been seniors after their final game, no biggie I don't think.  But I saw he bought Chase's  Jefferson's jersey and the NCAA will probably have something to say about that.
Apparently it was Monopoly money or something like that.  Jefferson is going pro so no big deal.  Kirklin on the other hand is returning.

Not sure I believe that, but even if it was real money it was mostly just OBJ putting on a show.  Slap on the wrist, not a huge deal.

@PeteThamel: News: Baylor is targeting Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente as next coach and is planning an in person interview in next 24 hours, multiple sources tell @YahooSports. Fuente is considered leading candidate.

Why would he want todo that?  The Coastal is wide open every year and VT is pretty nice.

Seems like a lateral move at best.  Maybe he's not worth as much to VT to match an offer though.

Not really a crystal ball when he will be a 24 year old rookie, never watched any of his games but in all the highlights he took the first read, even when the play broke down he didn't come off his first read.  He only has 2 years college experience and only produced one great year.  The other below average.  All big red flags.  The glow will come off after the combine and when he is drafted by the Bengals but wish nothing but the best for the Bengals fans.   But a lot of red flags you can't dispute.
Thanks for playing.  Please collect your T-shirt and skedaddle.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Well, this is, um, something: Chad Plein, a sports anchor for KY3/KSPR, is reporting that Bobby Petrino will become the new head coach at FCS Missouri State. The football scoop site is saying it's gonna be Art Briles who gets announced tomorrow as the new head coach.

In related news, female applicants to Missouri State dropped by 100%....

Missouri State:  We are going to hire a distressed, blackballed coach to get our name on the map.

Missouri State: Hold my beer.

I am L5UT1ger, and I am over my depression of what could have been in 2011 and what could have been if Nick Saban hadn't left on December 25, 2004.

This is the apex of my college football fandom. I hope my kids can remember this season.

I love each and every one of you!

C'mon, OBJ! :(

Odell Beckham handing out cash on the field to LSU players, out in the open. AFTER the game, let me stress. Hope LSU's compliance officer was on the spot.

LSU says it was fake money OBJ was handing out

Dude, OBJ & LSU ... stop. It was real cash.
Like we didn't know: Joe Burrow says Browns' Odell Beckham Jr. handed out real cash to LSU players

@alligatorSports: Column: Monday's national championship game was too long, started too late and had way too many commercial breaks, a growing trend in college football.

College football is amazing. Anthony Campanile, who was the LB coach at Michigan last year, was being heavily courted by both Boston College (where he was co-DC the year prior) and Rutgers (where he coached previously, his brother is on staff, and was a HC candidate this year if Schiano didn’t come back in the fold) for the DC position. Not a big Xs and Os guy, but has a string reputation as a recruiter due to his connections to the North Jersey parochial schools where he previously worked before getting into college. He requested big $ from BC, they finally agreed to his number, and he passed on the job anyway.

Rutgers then was bidding against Michigan, who was offering a big raise from his prior LB coach salary, and he spent almost two weeks deciding. Few days back he finally decided he wanted to stay put at Michigan.

Today he took a job on Brian Flores’ staff with the Dolphins.

Completely agree.  Realistically though, ESPN pimps the playoffs a ridiculous amount during the season.  They are going to get their money's worth.

The State of Florida has a very broad open records law when it comes to state institutions. Word of warning when you email college Presidents or ADs during a coaching search.

@MBakerTBTimes: #FSU AD David Coburn said some of the fan emails he received during the #Noles' coaching search were amazing.
So the Times requested them. They are, in fact, amazing. Here's what they said about Bob Stoops, Deion Sanders and ... 🦏🙂

Another look at me post about my nephew, who is playing at South Dakota and started every game this season after redshirting last year.

He was named to Phil Steele's FCS freshman All-American first team.  I don't know Phil Steele, but it seems like he does some homework and seems to know these teams and players pretty well.  He also got an honorable mention on the FCS freshman All-American team from a website called "Hero Sports."  This kid works so hard, he has earned this and I'm extremely happy for him. When I watch his games, I'm really only watching him. I'll fast forward when the defense is out there, then just watch the OL and text with my sister when he makes a nice block. Its a strange way to watch a football game, but I love it.

I take it that’s a family member? He’s 100% right, that game was excruciating.
I'm not even a huge soccer fan, but I'll often tune in to an EPL game on the weekend just to avoid commercials.

A) He has a brother (who isn't a writer) and they have a running schtick about which one is Mom's favorite. (Dad - who cares)

B) He's still in school. Don't want to let it go to his head.

Thanks though.
If you really want to help him, give him some tough love like Steve Martin's father after his first SNL appearance.

After Martin first appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” [his father] Glenn, who had become a real estate agent, wrote a bad review of him in the newsletter for the Newport Beach Association of Realtors, of which he was president: “His performance did nothing to further his career.” .”

Phil Steele is kind of like Mel Kiper, Jr. but his focus is on college football itself, not on the NFL draft. A self-taught guy regarding football, not a guy with an athletic background in the sport.

He also has a lot in common with Cliff Charpentier, who published those annual fantasy football books for 20 seasons (1984-2003).

Steele writes the preeminent CFB preview every year, probably spends as much time as anyone watching games. You get the sense he could name every starter at every P5 school from memory. It’s very high praise.
