2019 College football thread - It's 2020, yo. Go to the new thread. (1 Viewer)

There needs to be multiple like options added to this site.  I could not agree anymore.  This Monday night designation is horrendous.  5pm is the witching hour at our house with three little kids who need to eat, bathe and go to sleep and a teen who needs a ride home from basketball practice.  I have to record the game and put my phone on Airplane Mode so I can watch it uninterrupted.  It sucks.  SUCKS!
With two kids with various sports events I often have to record various games as well.  Why airplane mode?  I guess I always turn my phone off if it is an important game that I don't want to know the score on.  This keeps me from getting a text from a buddy after a score.  It does suck if an emergency comes up though and nobody can reach me.

Guess I could just turn it off fully, but Airplane Mode is easier to come out of then a full reboot.  I don't want any texts or updates coming into my phone while the game is live.  I want to watch it as if it IS live, even though it's not.

I love the west coast, but 5pm kickoffs for big games on a Monday suck.  If I didn't have kids, it'd be a different story, but I do and so it is HARD to watch these games uninterrupted.

Went to lunch and did some running in the neighborhoods close to the Quarter, but about a half mile down river.

Clemson fans starting to represent. Weirdly, it seems I see way more Clemson folks here on the outskirts, and fewer close to my work by the hotels and such.

I know, I know ... the updates are stupid  :bag:
I appreciate them, Doug.

I'd rather be in New Orleans right now than anywhere else.  You know what live updates we're getting in Portland?  It might snow this week.  We literally have news reporters standing in different areas of the city reporting live about the precipitation falling.  If there is anything dumber in the world than local news, I don't know what it is.

Or you could live in the EST zone, where the game will start at 8:30, end at close to 1AM, and my alarm is going to go off at 6AM on Tuesday

If you’re in Oregon ... places like Denver, Boulder, and Albuquerque would seem to have at least some superficial commonalities.
Haven't been to Boulder but want to watch a game there one day (yes, I am one who likes to combine sports with travel if/when I can) but have been to Denver and Albuquerque.  I need greener areas and Oregon is lush green all year long.  I also prefer Santa Fe to Albuquerque.

LSU wins easily from all the hype.  I dunno.

Like to see LSU win tonight just to mix up the winners.

Hope it is a good game.

@Gil_Brandt: Even if you don't have a dog in this #NationalChampionship remember this as an NFL fan: I think there's a minimum of 17 players in tonight's game and as many as 20 who will get drafted, including two potential No. 1 overall picks (Burrow in 2020, Lawrence in '21)

Yeah both these teams are absolutely stacked. Should make for an awesome game.
