Real Time Tracking

The Rules

Pick one stock that you think can appreciate the most (EXCLUDING DIVIDENDS) in 2019.  Removing the $5 share price minimum.

We'll take entries through Tuesday, January 1st; must be posted by midnight board time. Baseline will be close of market on 12/31/18, regardless of when the pick was submitted.

Foreign stocks okay if traded on US exchange (i.e.ADRs)

ETFs okay IF NOT LEVERAGED

NO Shorts (includes short ETFs)

No duplicates; FCFS

Please also consider sharing some thoughts/info on the stock

Optional Bonus Question - Guess where the S&P will finish the year. (I am not worrying about duplicates for this).

I'm going with Reeds, Inc (REED).  They make natural sodas.  I think there's nice upside in the stock, but I'm also betting on a buyout.  I bought it earlier in the year around $1.50-$1.75, so I have skin in the game.

So many good choices, what with the recent bloodbath. I like Chinese stocks in 2019 seeing how the tariffs have punished them, and how a resolution could come next year. I like some more than JD but I think it has the best chance at doubling. Give me JD with a poor S&P as the market turmoil continues: 2310.

 
NBEV - As CBD drinks grow in popularity they're going to get bought out by one of the big soda companies similar to Juul and big tobacco.

SENS-  Eversense implantable glucose monitoring system got US approval this year and now building approvals for who can insert (now includes PAs and Nurse Practitioners)  and insurance reimbursement.

Basically just a marijuana parallel play, they specialize in CBD products.  As all this market unfolds there will be some homeruns out there and lots of losers, so swinging for the fences here.

I went to the list of NASDAQ stocks, generated a random 4 and a random 16. Went to the fourth page of stocks and picked the 16th one.

My wife just texted me: let her in and I'm drunk and somehow typed in lto, and it's an actual stock.  So going with that.

Going with Exxon (XOM)... Oil has been miserable this last year and that is reflective in the gas company prices. My timing may be off with this being a long term play but it’s at 8 year lows. 

Edit to add: I know I can’t have two entries but if everything goes to #### KL (Kirkland Lake) is the mining company I’m eyeballing.

ANNOUNCE: The spreadsheet now shows me in the lead. This is due to a 1-for-20 reverse stock split, and no other reason. Really glad I didn't put any money in this pig. 😜

 
LOL. For the last couple of years, I've used stocks I've owned and been up on...and the contest start marked their top. 
Done with that strategy!
