Agreed. And yes we have a pick that should be a good one, with still a small chance of being a really good one. We either get a spot in 1-4 (smaller chance) or 8-11 (most likely). But hey, we defied the odds a couple years ago.

Not that unpopular. Many Pelicans fans around here assume Zion is being traded soon. They say that's the reason he didn't play at the end of the regular season or in the playoffs -- that he's been healthy enough to play for two months, but that David Griffin wants to protect Zion as a trade asset and didn't want him getting injured again.Craig_MiamiFL said:

To the bolded: definitely. You can start reading this Saintsreport thread here on pgs 5-6 to get the gist. Those posts are mostly from February and March**, but some fans still haven't let that resentment go. It's kind of a small-market-fan inferiority complex -- reject the player before they reject your team. Saw it happen with Anthony Davis, too.

I also wasn't up on what was going on with Zion's stepfather not wanting him playing in New Orleans -- is that even a real thing?
National media jumped on the little nugget that Zion didn't call CJ and welcome him to the team when we acquired him. He talked to him in the days that followed though, no reporting on that.

I don't know anything on the stepfather other than the interview (with Jordy) from a couple weeks ago saying he expected him to play this season. He indicated that nobody in Zion's camp (himself, any close family members, nor Zion) had ever indicated that he wanted out of New Orleans.

Ah, ok I was probably being a tad hyperbolic there, but there was not nearly as much press on that as when it came out that CJ hadn't heard from Zion. I know I know, not as many clicks. But now we definitively know why, and it was not because Zion didn't want to be in Nola.
The media’s reporting of Zion has indeed been odd. Not clear to me if that is the media being inept, or Zion trying to do PR damage control.
Its a close out game. Not taking starters out till it's done. Ridiculous to defend a loose elbow by Siakam as why E.biid is still out there.

This is absolutely right. Nobody is coming back from 29 down with 4 minutes left. Nobody in any situation. Doc Rivers carries a lot of the blame for not getting his superstar out of the game.
It’s not even possible to score 29 points in 4 game minutes. All these coaches risk it in these situations and sometimes you get burned. It’s dumb.
Look Doc Rivers has plenty to get fired for and plenty to kill him over. I'm not even thinking twice about leaving his players in a minute a two longer than needed in a playoff game.
