Nets aren't bad but they don't exactly seem like a championship-caliber team right now. They could really use another playmaking scoring threat, maybe at PG.... :bag:

Durant has been absolutely fantastic so far. At this point, he’s be my MVP choice. (Followed by Jokic and Curry).

Did someone tell Giannis tonight's game against the Lakers was a Finals game 7?

47 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, blk, stl on 18-23 shooting (3-4 from 3)...against Anthony Davis. 🏆 Great performance by the Champ.

Lakers are such a bad team it's not even funny. A lot of past their prime players. If I'm a Lakers fan I'm embarrassed what Lebron has done with this team.

Jokic is actually leading the MVP race right now.  He is towards the top of every single statistical category and is running away with all of the advanced metrics, including the defensive ones, which was supposed to be his Achilles heel.

Not just that, he is a playmaking revolution from anywhere on the court.  Right now, he is the one guy I will make a point to watch play every time no matter who they are facing.  He is basketball poetry.

the narrative is with Curry, though, and will be even moreso if Klay returns w any game and/or the younguns (Kuminga had my 2nd favorite tape of the draft class, behind only Mobley) begin to usurp the supporting roles, and narrative wins awards

man i think the cupboards in san fran are really stocked right now and i think that wiseman when he comes back will shine i just think he is the right kind of brohan to play with steph and klay take that to the bank bromigos

I agree with this take.  I still can't stand Draymond, but wouldn't be upset to see them win without Durant.

What makes this situation interesting is that Kuminga and Wiseman both have "Cheat Code" level athleticism.

Kuminga gives the Warriors something they've lacked since Durant left, someone who can attack the rim at will and force the defense to collapse on him. He's also very switchable on defense and is showing shades of functional rim protection. This means the secondary unit is going to be potentially lethal in transition, which is how you get offense after making strong defensive stops. Wiseman has shown some shades of ability behind the arc, which puts him in better position defensively to get back and protect the rim.  The ability for Kuminga and Wiseman to switch means the Warriors could roll out a lineup that can adjust to different matchups with potentially three different rim protectors on the floor at the same time.

Much of this season was reliant on Poole to become a secondary shot creator for the offense, but if Kuminga can get to just half of his potential there this season, that creates massive gravity all along the offense. Curry from logo range that forces teams to double him will create huge gaps for Wiseman as a simple lob threat and for Poole and Kuminga to take it to the cup. This doesn't even account for Moses Moody, who was seen as safest high floor 3 And D wing prospect in this draft class.

People are looking at the offense, but it's the defense that should start to worry the rest of the NBA. These young legs have something  the Warriors haven't had for a long time, fresh recruits who are gifted enough naturally to give themselves recovery on taking risks on defense. That's a recipe for a flexible swarming unit that will create lots of stops and easy transition baskets for itself. And if you get into a run and gun shootout with a team that headlines Steph Curry, he'll make you pay.

Usurp what supporting roles?

The Warriors have no one like Kuminga who can attack  the rim going downhill from halfcourt in like three dribbles. And I mean like a freight train. There isn't much doubt about his ability to finish at the rim either.

The Warriors don't have a secondary shot creator like Jordan Poole anywhere else on the roster. He's not consistent and he looks like a boom/bust gunner at times, but the Warriors have lacked that from a young player for a very long time

The Warriors don't have functional size at the pivot to challenge a heavy hitter like an Embiid. Wiseman gives them a Cheat Code level rim runner who sometimes moves like a wing. He's got all kinds of flaws, no doubt, he'll likely get into lots of foul trouble, but you can't replace traditional size when there was no traditional size on the roster before.

The Warriors don't have a pure fundamental cost controlled 3 And D wing like Moses Moody anywhere else on that roster. Thompson without the injury will have naturally lost a step. While I don't think Wiggins is as bad or as good as some others might find, Moody is very likely already a higher BBIQ player than Wiggins right, and not as vastly overpaid.

Ursurp exactly whom? Juan Toscano Anderson?  It's almost like you are salivating to talk about what Eric Snow meant to Allen Iverson for all those years as a role player. I know this might break your heart here, but Alton Lister and Mike Gminski aren't going to magically going to run onto the court and fulfill an archaic style of play you believe still exists.

The Warriors were fortunate that Best Player Available in this past draft in Kuminga and Moody in their draft slots also filled critical needs. Poole was a flier pick at the end of a draft but with an eye on shot creation and Wiseman was a clear need based pick.

I agree with this take.  I still can't stand Draymond, but wouldn't be upset to see them win without Durant.

Draymond Green is exactly what the Warriors need and his "persona" is part of the reality of a high level defensive culture. Green wants to get into other player's heads while he's playing defense. That's not so uncommon. Rodman, Ben Wallace, Tony Allen ( future convicted felon Tony Allen more to point), Mutombo even Andre Roberson all had some mercurial elements to them.

Curry gets hit a lot. The kind of free contact defenders get away with on Curry is pretty criminal. While I recognize Zaza Pachulia is a dirty player, I also understand sometimes you need a player who can send a message to everyone else. If you hurt my guy, I'll hurt all of you.

Green can't just hit people like Charles Oakley, but he'll try to terrorize them in other ways. The NBA  and the owners don't want another Malice In The Palace. Even Patrick Beverley is too much for them. What Green does is about all that players have left to enforce anything.

Much of the hate Durant got with the Warriors was a fabricated league narrative to try to make the Warriors some kind of stoic villain so LeBron James could look like a hero. The CCP loving, Anti Semetic, Jacob Blake loving quitter who took a crap on his entire home city as he left for Miami. Yes, that LeBron James. Nike money just turned all the owners into a bunch of whores and Curry took hit after hit to placate some false flag narrative.

When Durant or Green drive away masses of Asian fans, female fans, those in the military/law enforcement, Cleveland/Miami and Jewish fans like LeBron James, then I'd probably be more apt to consider who is a "bad guy" in the NBA.

This is some crazy conspiracy theory stuff.

It's so crazy after being a Warriors fan my entire life. If suffering through the first 25 years of my life was the price to enjoy Stephen Curry and these Warriors.....I would gladly do it all over again.

After Timmy left I cheered for Keith Jennings, BJ Armstrong, Bimbo Coles, Old Mookie, Vonteego Cummings, and so much trash. It's crazy. Now I get to watch the most electrifying player in the NBA every night....and he's not an #######. Wtf!

I know we're closer to the end than the beginning, but I hope to Joe Lacob that Curry, Klay, and Dray play every single NBA game in a Dubs jersey. I don't care if we're a lottery team and those 3 are clogging up the cap. They deserve it.

Joe Smith would've been a much better #1 overall in this NBA. He had a good outside shot for a big and couldn't add enough weight to really bang down low during his prime.

It's a shame RUN TMC didn't get more traction.  They would've been a problem in today's NBA.

Are we sure Embiid is OK?  I know he was symptomatic and I haven't seen any word as to when he may be back.  :oldunsure:

i'm surprised that more of the athletes who've gotten COVID havent been more waylayed by some of the secondary symptoms that were common in the first go-round, but Embiid's too young for those, from what i hear. Pretty sure LeBron's been fine for a week and the Butlers and other stars will get extra days of rehab as long as the team's record isnt suffering too badly, cuz the sched's just too long. As long as the Sixers are above .500, every game Joel aint abusing them knees is a blessing

He aint wrong in the NBA driving that narrative. This is the same NBA who covered up the illegal gambling by their own, threw Donaghey under the bus. When you look down that rabbit with an open mind it's easy to see there were a ton of others involved. Donaghey just got too cute with it and got caught and when he did the others stabbed him in the back. Stern was also quick to sweep the whole thing under the rug similar to Goodell making sure the tapes in the spy gate were destroyed in NE before being seen by the public because his buddy and Pats owner Robert Kraft got him that comfy seat a top the NFL.

Tim is actually from my area and a lot of stories about others in the NBA being involved and I know a ton of people who are friends with him, their kids friends etc. There are a lot more in this league who have retired since who were involved. Donaghey couldn't talk because the Mafia was also involved and he knew if he talked it could threaten his family so he took the bullet.

If you want to know more on this story though there was a movie in 2019 Inside Game that has Will Sasso as his numbers runner thats really good. it gives a backstory of how Tim started and how the mafia was involved. It doesn't blatantly refer to other refs and NBA people involved but it does hint that there were a lot more people involved then the NBA would like you to know.

I know people will be like "but if more were involved why wouldn't the league want them found out?". There's been rumors this whole thing goes up to the top to David Stern himself where he'd put certain refs on certain games including playoff series he wanted the series extended. This was done with his buddy Cowboy Joey Crawford who was kicked out of the league do to his incident with Tim Duncan but Stern brought him back in. A lot of people have done further digging on refs and history of their calls especially on fouls and any anonymities that may have occurred in certain games. Far more advanced stuff then I ever could do and Crawford was at the center of most of this.

Another reason the league wanted this swept under the rug is because of the playoffs in 2001 where the 76ers and Lakers were in the finals. One of the biggest rigged games most look back on is that Kings Lakers series where Marv Albert and Bill Walton were doing. Walton for NBC was very brash about how poor the officiating was even insinuating someone maybe getting paid. After that year Bill Walton hasn't announced an NBA game since. Some would say yeah he was unprofessional but at the same time if a gambling scandal was going on you don't want a commentator who might make people question your league legitimacy even more.

The 76ers/Bucks series also was in question but isn't as popular to some as the Sac/LAL was given how blatant the later was with some questionable play calls. It's been said the NBA wanted an AI/Kobe final and Kobe playing against his hometown. That 76ers team I did like and one of the few times I cheered for the 76ers. Also it's when I realized what a bandwagon town we were for pro basketball. I was a huge Bulls fan but was like hey I like this 76ers team and they got chance to win a title probably and were fun to watch. I loved Aaron McKie who at the time lived near me as well. However not being a 76ers fan I knew more about the team and roster than most so called 76ers fans in my school including my teachers. I also talked more to adults at parties my parents brought me too and it was even worse. People claiming to be big time fans couldn't even get players names right. Someone called Eric Snow Eric Iverson and Mckie Tyrone McKie. Anyway the 76ers bucks series had some blatant favoritism to the 76ers. I never really noticed it because it was subtle compared to the other series. However going back and watching the games when this was brought up in the NBA gambling threads and socials if you look at the games more closely now aware of it you can see it.

I loved that 76ers team but lets be honest. I don't think that 76ers team would've gotten to the finals without some NBA assistance similar to Lebron's Cavs team who got the finals that one year. The league just looks bad. However I think if Stern had come out and asked for a full investigation rather then trying to run from the whole scandal like a little  :censored:  he always had been than I think a lot more people would've appreciated him more and we wouldn't have people accussing officials of rigging the league etc.

Either way @GordonGekkoisn't wrong here. We are talking about a league who plays a ton of favoritism as well as has a questionable possible more illegal past then a lot of nBA loyalist want to admit or don't want to believe.

Did you miss the other day when he suggested that Rich Paul might actually get Ben Simmons murdered?

"However is Simmons was dead, the contract value would forward to his estate, which would include the existing obligation to Paul and Klutch Sports. There's actually an incentive here now for Rich Paul to have Ben Simmons murdered"

Obviously he was joking about that

HUGE game tonight for the Wolves home versus Memphis. Playoff teams win home games against teams like Memphis. Hopefully the team that has a 2-game win streak shows up instead of the team that somehow lost to Orlando and Pelicans. ANT going for 40 tonight.

GSW second string wins anyway

:lmao:

Jordan Poole is a polarizing player. The talent is there. But his shot selection is often dangerous to the team's motion offense.

He's most valuable to the Dubs when he's relentlessly attacking the rim. That only creates more gravity around him. If and when Klay Thompson comes back, Poole will see his minutes cut. If Moodys ability to better balance out a lineup takes even more minutes eventually, it means Poole has to become more efficient with the opportunities he does get.

This is what made Shaun Livingston so valuable to the Warriors. Not just understanding his role and not just being nearly automatic from mid range during critical playoff moments, but knowing when he should and should not be shooting and from what angles on the floor and during what specific contexts during the game.

Poole can be an incredible Sixth Man type weapon. He can also shoot you right out of a game. What makes him lethal to other teams also makes him lethal to his own team. Interesting player to see moving forward.
