I don’t see a topic yet. Kind of a down year with no standouts in their first year of eligibility. Might be a quiet year in Cooperstown.

@NotMrTibbs: With 96 ballots revealed/~24.2% of the vote known:

No candidate >= 75%
---
Schilling 74.0%
BB/RC - 71.9%
Rolen - 65.6%
Helton - 53.1%
Sheffield - 52.1%
Jones - 43.8%
Wagner - 43.8%
Vizquel - 39.6%
Ramírez - 38.5%
Sosa - 26.0%
Kent - 20.8%
Abreu - 15.6%
Pettitte - 14.6%

Probably no one will make it this year. I saw an article on 538 that showed the percentages for the top guys last year with partial results known. They all dropped off by 7-9% when the remaining ballots were included.

30 minutes to the announcement. But, yeah, looking like no one this year.

I guess if the actual ceremony happens, Jeter and Walker will get their deferred ceremonies.

Nada. Next year discourse will be more insufferable than ever:

“Next year: 10th and final year on the ballot for Bonds, Clemens and Schilling.

1st year for A-Rod, Big Papi”

I'm glad Jeter and Walker will get a chance to have their ceremonies (COVID-willing) without any of the sideshow/controversy that would come along with it if any combo of Schilling/Bonds/Clemens got in this year.

Schilling's statement was to take him off the ballot next year.  He said he would rather have his peers from the veterans committee elect him.
