I'd need someone decent at least, and Ventura's real numbers are considerably below the two guys I have. I'd want a lefty that is at least close to (if not better through a package deal) than the guys I have now. If you want a minor upgrade at 3B and/or a righty for your platoon, I could trade Matt Williams and Frank Robinson or Jeff Heath for O'neill but i know youve wanted to hold onto O'neill before.I might be willing to move Ventura. I like him because he gets on base and has 1B and 3B eligibility, but I could be convinced to trade him.If anyone has a Lefty 3B, perhaps a guy who is underperforming, I'd be willing to work something out. Could possibly include Rickey Henderson if its a top 3B back, work something else to get me an OF (preferably L). Could also look to move someone else if you have an idea, something smaller where I could get you back one of my righty 3B.
I have 1998 Vinny Castilla at 3B. I think I'll be ok.Koya said:I'd need someone decent at least, and Ventura's real numbers are considerably below the two guys I have. Nice. We have had a handful of nono's - not sure if we have had a perfect game yet.Almost El Perfecto! Marichal gives up a hit to the first batter and goes perfect from there on out.
Near Perfection
Not usually. There are many, many more poor fielders in this thing than usual. Also, I think the sim engine now punishes poor glovemen more than it used to. I remember getting by with the odd D-glove guy in the past without too much harm being done. But now? Nuh-uh.The amount of errors are unreal. Is this the norm in the sims?
I wouldnt have counted on Carlton. Guy was a gas can and has been inactive or mop up almost all year. I have NO starters under 5.50 ERA. I thoguht offense would be some question mark which is why I traded away Randy Johnson, and I have been somehow keeping my head above water (though that can change at any moment), but as Ive stated a thousand times, my pitching ineptness (and not just at home where runs are expected) has utterly confounded me.Looks like my team has decided to mail it in. 6 game losing streak and in danger of falling to third in the division. All three of my starters have an ERA near 5. Maybe the return of Hank Aaron to the lineup can provide a spark, but to believe that is laughable at best. The division was ripe for the raping and our team simply doesn't want it anymore. My lack of concern for pitching in the draft and the inevitable scramble and pawning off of Foxx and Henderson to get pitching is what killed me. I'm convinced that Steve Carlton/Wilbur Wood would have been at least as good as Mathewsuck. I thought the solid rolls for Wood and Bill Donovan would have saved me, but they both ended up sucking, with Donovan on another team. I thought Lee Smith would have been my closer seeing as he's one of the best closers of all time and his RL numbers aren't shabby, but he sucks. In fact, with the exception of non-elite season **** Radatz of all people and maybe Sid Fernandez, my bullpen is so ####ty, a real life team would have already fired it's GM, the pitching coach would have committed suicide after committing hara-kari on his manager, and the owner would have put the team up for sale because no one wants to see their home team blow 4 run leads in the late innings. And RPGLibrary can still suck it.
17 out of 20 other teams would be leading the NL EastI'd have a 6.5 game lead on the team who is currently in first in the NL East. Has there ever been a worse division than the NL East? Has their ever been a better division than the NL Central?
Hack Wilson for Hank Aaron, straight up.If anyone has the balls for a major deadline deal, I can deal Hack Wilson (seems to be on track going .308 .388 .582 for me since the trade) for a stud starting pitcher. As long as you don't have a park that kills HRs/Power, Hack should do very well, and his real life numbers and log numbers are awesome.ETA - I believe all trades must be accepted prior to the AM game that is this coming overnight.
and just like that you are 1 game behind again. It's reassuring to know that the curse of **** Radatz survives:hoss:
I just love that, after legendary pitchers Mathewson and Unit allow a combined 18 earned runs, El Sid comes in and throws 3 innings of spectacular ball. Because, you know, that makes all the sense in the world. It's reassuring to know that the curse of **** Radatz survives:hoss:
You should have just been happy that Sid didn't give up a run in this game. The epitome of my season.
Seriously, #### Whatifsports. This is not baseball, this is a ####### joke. If they gave refunds for #### like this, they'd go belly-up in a day.

we have a 3 game set on Labor Day, the penultimate series of the regular season. we should try to play it live over the weekend. btw, i am 1-9 against you.and just like that you are 1 game behind again. The Old Men clinch the PL East with 18 games left to play.eephus can clinch tonight.hoos, doesn't look like it's going to matter. i can't beat anyone good.
It's time to rest some regulars.Did someone trade Jimmy Fox? How did that work out?
That would be me and I also dealt Rickey Henderson in the deal. Hank Aaron turned it on when the season became meaningless, Mehthewson was meh, although he gobbled up a ####load of innings, and Unit was my best pitcher, which isn't saying much. Despite that, I don't think Foxx and Rickey would have saved my season, my pitching was beyond awful. And Trosky did a good job in replacing Foxx as he was an All-star himself.
In what may have been my best season ever during our run here on WIS, I not only had the matchup against an 82-80 dirtyhalos team, but I romped him going up 2-0 in the series. This team was definately stronger than my team last year (compared with other teams in the league that is) with Brett, and may have been stronger or as strong as the team in the all time (maybe all seasons?) rendition with Pete Alexander and Walter Johnson's best years leading the way.
My best regular season (w/ 104 wins) ended in a first round playoff loss. It was in Sim# 3 or 4, whichever one had the 50s & 60s players.I've always thought the five game opening series are weak in real-life and pretend baseball. It's especially sudden with WIS' three games/day scheduling. Three months of drafting and simming can come to an end in 24 hours. In what may have been my best season ever during our run here on WIS, I not only had the matchup against an 82-80 dirtyhalos team, but I romped him going up 2-0 in the series. Well, 2-0 quickly became 2-2, and then the end of my season with a quickness as Halos went on to win the unlikely crown.
