2021 Buffalo Bills - Same as it ever was*** (2 Viewers)

David,

You ought to be worrying about protecting your HOF quarterback from the rest of the AFC east and not how much others are making contracts for.

Brady will be hitting the turf often this year..........hope he can take it!

:boxing:
 The Pats win 12 games pretty much every year with whatever configuration of players they roll out from season to season.

People are burying them after losing Revis, but they went to three straight AFCC games before he even got there. The Pats have almost 6 months to tweak what they have, and a nucleus of BB, TB, and Gronk is about as good as it gets as a starting point.
Absolutely. But the bottom line of that is that lucking into a top 5 all time QB covers a lot of other flaws.

I give BB a TON of credit for always finding new ways to do things. Not just season to season, but week to week and half to half. But it all starts with the luxury of having one of the best QBs in NFl history and having totally lucked into that.

It's awfully easy to sit on a high horse and say that any team not doing things like the Patriots are not smart and not doing things the right way, when the truth is that the vast majority of their success is directly attributable to sheer luck.

So yeah, lucking into one of the best QBs in NFL history in the 7th round and being able to build around that with cheaper guys would certainly be the ideal way to build a team, but the odds of that seem sorta low. So you have to find other ways to do things.

Do you troll every single thread?

Maybe this has been covered.....but can a Bill's insider explain what they are doing? They have added many passing options this offseason (Harvin, Cameron, Clay). I cannot figure why those guys want to come play here when this is almost guaranteed to be a run heavy team.
It's the orgy method of building a contender. Just grab anything that looks good.
Well that and Pegula throwing money at them.

Pats are into Chandler for $5.3 million total for two years with $2 million guaranteed. So over the next two years, the Bllls will shell out $25 million for Clay while the Pats will give Chandler $5.3 million. I guess time will tell if Clay is worth nearly five times as much.

It's only Harvin and Clay. Clay can block and catch. Not just a receiving TE. The Bills huge offer helps too.

Harvin also got a relatively nice pay day too. Not like Clay did but still good. For Harvin he is also happy that he gets to see softer pass defenses. Since the Bills should be running so much. And he's likely to get return duties.

I hold you in higher regard than this fanboy crap.

I don't think Clay will be a huge improvement over Chandler, so even I am intrigued why they fell in love with Clay n

Love all of BUF's moves. The problem is they still don't have the most important position in all of sports filled. Without a QB, while sad, the talent of all these guys (except maybe shady) is going to be squandered.

This is a meaningless comparison.

Please tell us all more about the Patriots. It's fascinating.

Chandler was a very poor TE. His blocking was atrocious and he often dropped important catches (third down).

This means nothing for next year, wouldn't surprise me if he became a stud with NE.

Harvin only costs $4MM against the cap this year but will get paid $6MM. Deal is voidable after 1 year.
This I'm not too thrilled with. Yeah, they got him this year and were able to fit Clay in with how they structured this deal, but it's pretty much an automatic $2M in dead money next year. That definitely isn't a good way to do things.
In general I agree, but in this particular case it likely won't make a difference. Any cap space that they don't use this year will be rolled over to next year, so unless they end the year with less than $2M left, it'll be a wash.

I'm almost certain they will end the year razor close to the cap this year. Why even bother structuring it like that if they didn't think they couldn't fit it in this year?

I can't remember the last time that there was this much offseason buzz about the Bills. And we don't even have a first round pick! Whether these moves are good or not, they have generated a ton of interest.

For the same reason most teams do the same thing- because it gives them more flexibility. If someone becomes available that they want to go after, now they have a little more room to do so. If not, they roll it into next year.

NE fans never bothered to troll us before. Obviously the Bills are moving up in the world.

Fun offseason, hoping for a home Primetime game or two.

frustrating reading all the media hate ie LAcanfora

We haven't been relevant in forever I could care less about cap hell in 2017 I'm worried about making the playoffs this year, Uncle Terry will allow us to restructure contracts like never before

Go BIlls

Can't wait for the schedule release

Pats at Bills on Monday night. Week 12.

I really want the Patriots opening night. How sweet would it be to beat the Super Bowl champs in their stadium to start off the season.

I think they're are better story lines in the bills New England matchup. First Rex vs BB. Second the bills are up and coming with a lot of buzz. Throw in Cassell if he starts. Lately the bills are revieling a new offense and some new big name players

I would guess the Bills are the 4th option after the Jets, Eagles, and Steelers.
I could see a case for Eagles and Steelers. But why the Jets? The tv market?
Big rivalry game and Revis switching sides.
I liked it. And the reaction if Geno beats Brady... :lmao:

Bills vs Jags in London will only be broadcast in local markets on TV. Everyone else will have to watch to watch it digitally. It won't be on Sunday Ticket either.

Well, that's really ####ing annoying to me as a Bills fan living outside of the local market. I'm going to be 2x as pissed if they want to charge me to watch this game on the internet while I'm already paying a king's ransom for Sunday Ticket.

This is ultimately a good thing. If it's successful, they'll look to expand it. Ideally, you'll eventually be able to buy individual games or packages that just include your preferred team. No more Sunday Ticket Monopoly garbage.

You are far too idealistic about the NFL's desire to make things more economical for its fans.

Rex with a great press conference today. Stone cold line on Bryce Brown: Ryan says not "going to remember the name of" Bryce Brown "until he learns to remember how to hold onto ball."

Sounds exactly like the sort of thing Bill Parcells would say. (I mean that in a positive way).

So reports are that Rex had the option of trading either Robert Woods or Kiko for Shady, and he chose Kiko.

Why? I love Woods, but the team keeps trying its hardest to push him out of the #2 spot. First it was Mike Williams, now it's Percy. This is the guy you keep over Kiko?

WTF?

I don't think Percy starts over Woods (at least I really hope he doesn't). Especially if EJ gets the job. If I remember correctly, I think those two used to have somewhat of a connection on the field.

I think the same reason that he made the trade in the first place. He knows defense. It's his thing. He thinks he can scheme around a missing LB better than he or Roman can scheme around sub optimal RB play or a young, solid WR2.

Percy listed at #2.
