2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (2 Viewers)

With the playoff ranking debate in full swing, I’m curious as to where folks stand.

Let’s say two teams have a relatively equal SOS. The two teams also played head to head and now find themselves in this scenario:

Team A - Beat Team B, but lost to a team outside the top 15 (or unranked team) as it’s only loss

Team B - Won all it’s games other than the loss to Team A

Who do you rank higher? The head to head winner or the team with the better loss?

Bump for original predictions.  Cincinnati needs help but they still are in a good position.  I think the committee did a great job actually.
Outside of the top ten they did an awful job, comically so. Miss St where they are is indefensible, and leaving out UTSA, SMU, and Houston is a joke.

At least two, likely 3 ranked opponents left for OU.  The flip side is TAMU will be top 10 if they win out…Bama’s other loss.
If OU wins out they are 100% in, no question. The committee guy made it pretty clear when asked about OU directly. Mentioned they look like a different team with Williams and they still have plenty of opportunities to impress.

Most frustrating and confusing college football season of all-time for me.  Hang with Oklahoma, MSU, MIch, and OSU.  Look like dog #### against Ill, Purdue, and Minnesota.  Will look like dog #### coming up against Wisc and Iowa.

Pretty sure Frost is done.  QB Adrian Martinez is a  great kid that could come back to be a 5th year starter.  I think a change of scenery would be good for him also.

Franklin clock management there was soooo bad.

Very indecisive

call a timeout  at own 45 with 3 seconds left and kneel.

Purdon’t doing what umaa couldn’t do last weekend against msu. Continue to stick with the pass and exploit their secondary.

Knew this was going to be a very tough outing in W. Lafayette.

Just turned on TAM and Auburn tied 3-3 in the third.  TAM was moving the ball and then on consecutive plays 2 false starts and had a burn a timeout to prevent delay of game.  That's a bad sequence.

Wow they follow that up with an incompletion, then a hold on a screen.  They then call a designed QB run and instead of sliding the QB drops his head and tries to run over Smoke Monday.  He's gone from the game.  Awful awful series.

Brian Kelly’s signature is defiant reluctance to make halftime adjustments. It’s maddening how dumb he and his coaches are about this.

When something works that wasn’t in the initial game plan, he stubbornly refuses to admit it’s working and falls back to the game plan that wasn’t working.

This week’s edition is Navy’s drop 8 defense. Refuses to run so Coan is playing awful. In comes Buckner, right down the field for the TD. Rest of the game thus far - back to Coan forcing the passing game plan. Moron.

That WR Bell is exploiting them. He looks uncoverable. Can’t help a MSU cb had to leave on that last series. Not sure if he will be out rest of game. Quite a good challenge and game brewing here.

Yea I said last weekend I figured this would be a letdown/trap game.

Offense hasn’t done squat all game. 3 and outs all day doesn’t help your defense.

State is definitely missing Nailor today.

A little more offensive creativity here. More success.

Need to crank up the no huddle / hurry up offense . They killed umaa with that last week
