2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (3 Viewers)

Not a fumble after review. LSU goes for it on fourth and can’t get it. Bama ball inside their own ten yard line. Still 20-14 Bama

Looks like might have been helmet to helmet on Young tackle where he got popped. Saban mad, calls timeout, chewing out the refs.

I'm hippling the thread.  I try very hard not to watch game with crimson colored glasses.  That is called targeting (whether you like those calls or not) probably 90% of the time.  You always hear it doesn't matter the intent, if the first hit is in the head or shoulder area it is targeting.  I thought it was.

On the incomplete pass, his arm was not in a passing motion, he was trying to grip the ball and bring it down.  The SEC refs have been horrible this year.

I do not want to play Georgia but also don't want to lose.  Arkansas and Auburn will be big tests for this team.  OL play is the worst I've seen during the Saban era.  The defense is lost on any motion play.  DBs outside of Battle are not a strength.

@KegsnEggs: I wanna be on that Florida booster text chain right now. They probably already got that buyout figured out and have raised enough to to upgrade the salary pool.

Anyone see that fox on the field in the USC-Arizona State game? He jumped into the stands...that would scare the #### out of me.

What an implosion.
I’ve been telling my gator friends (of which there are many, including my wife) for years he was horrible. Doesn’t recruit, made his bones off of Dak. Looks like a dork, acts like a dork, doesn’t do the things necessary to get the players needed. I wish they would give him another extension.

@zacharyahuber: Only coach Dan Mullen will be made available to the media after the game. Florida is sticking with no players. #Gators @alligatorSports

He seemed to do a good job developing Trask last year but really it seems his ceiling is an OC who doesn't want to run the ball. He doesn't recruit especially in the trenches.  He spackles over holes with transfers. He is hands off on the defensive side and his teams are very soft.

You don’t like him? He did the OU game last week and I thought he was solid. It is interesting that the main Disney crew is on the ESPN game.

I despise him.  He's ok at breaking down the game, but he's cheesy and not funny when he thinks he's funny.  And Jones just enables him.

Herby doesn't travel west of the Central Time Zone before the Rose Bowl.  :D

RGCheese just quoted Bruce Lee, and tried to tie it into UW and this game.

I wish Bruce Lee would thrash him with nun-chucks.

Pretty much figured on this happening last week. Not losing any sleep over this one.

It’s all gravy this year for MSU my man. 2nd year coach getting them this far. I’ll take it. It’s been an absolute blast watching this team this year.

Sparty is an OK team that should have had 2 losses going into this game.  Was shocked the the Purdue QB had over 500 yards passing.   The magic ran out today as the score was way closer than the actual game. Purdue could have put 50 on Sparty today.

Without the transfer Walker they would be a 500 team at best.  Tucker is doing a good job but they are not that good.

I think Arizona State had the next variety of uniforms and helmets in all of sports. Oregon is definitely the standard in this lane, but I love ASU’s trident look and the color scheme.

One complicating factor at UF is that AD Scott Stricklin is in hot water himself for backing an abusive womens basketball coach.

Not only did he try to sweep it under the rug but the coach got an extension despite a losing record.  When the school newspaper broke the story, Stricklin invited 4 of his favorite reporters for a press conference and shut out the school newspaper reporter who broke the story.

So there is a slight but nonzero chance (maybe 15%?) that the school goes nuclear and ditches the AD.

Remember,  Stricklin came from Miss St and brought Mullen with him.

I agree MSU was dominated yesterday by Purdue.  Purdue controlled the TOP and it seemed MSU never had the ball. Purdue could have had 2 more TDs but they missed plays and that happens.

The transfer Walker has been worth at least 2 wins if we were doing WAR.  Michigan game for sure would have been a loss without Walkers performance but MSU would be better than a 500 team.  They would probably have 2-3 losses.

Remember Tucker got rid of a bunch of players who were there and brought in 29 transfers. So it is not the same roster as last year.

Is Bill O’Brien a hot name for any openings…or potential openings…in Lincoln, LA, Gainesville…someone…anyone??

Know you are kidding but there are multiple real high profile jobs that are or are going to be available. Not even sure who is in line for them but how would you rank USC, LSU, Florida? Any other big jobs likely to open?

@Brett_McMurphy: Worst Power 5 records last 10 games vs. P5 opponents:

Kansas 0-10
Vanderbilt 0-10
Arizona 1-9
Duke 2-8
Florida 2-8
Indiana 2-8
Nebraska 2-8
South Carolina 2-8
Syracuse 2-8

It's nice how South Carolina's two wins are over two teams also on this list

Regardless, last night was a lot of fun at Williams-Brice

Didn't cover the GM line though...

:P

I was hoping the Ducks would crush UW but I'll take it.  Continued domination over UW.

Funny thing is we came down to Eugene for an overnight, took my son out to dinner and just assumed the game would be on TV at the restaurant.  Lol, nope.  I picked the hippiest of hippy joints to dine where art and the Dead are the vibe.  No TVs.  But man, was it terrific.  Didn't see much of the game at all.   My son didn't even know they were playing. :lmao:

Didn't realize Florida had gotten quite that bad.  And to find only one Pac10 team on the list also is strange, but I suppose they have to play eachother.

Personally I’d go USC-UF-LSU…I’m sure many would put UF third but I’d rather be in the SEC East.
