2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure exactly how Cincy will get screwed, but of course, they will.

It makes me feel good to see some think Cincy will get it in.  Kind of like when you see an older kid that believes in Santa Claus.

It's nice to know that sort of optimism still exists and that not everybody is a beat down curmudgeon.

Unfortunately, though, Santy Claus ain't coming down the chimney and Cincy aint' getting in the Playoff.

So OSU drops to #7 and needs help from 3 teams to get in?  ND loss tonight, Auburn beating Alabama, Oklahoma St loss and/or Cincinati losing.  Not sure if they jump Michigan if they lose.  Long shot, but not out.   Michigan should jump to #2 or #3.

Only way Cincy doesn’t make it is if they lose to Houston next week. Not even the tiniest bit of doubt in my mind.

They need OU to win this week and OkState to win next week. If either OU or OkState wins out they’ll be above Ohio State for sure.

Even if Bama loses tonight, I still think they’d have a better shot as a two loss team if they beat Georgia next week. I see no way Ohio State has any chance now.

Big XII still has a shot of having a 1 loss champ too even if Oklahoma State loses tonight.

Amongst my friends and family, even the biggest homers think OU is going to get waxed tonight. I’ll be very surprised if we get to 17 pts.

Georgia's in no matter what.

Alabama, Cincy and Michigan are in if they win their title games.  An Alabama win over UGA would be the best win on anyone's resume and they'd get in with 2 losses.

Notre Dame and Oklahoma State are probably next up if any of the three teams ahead of them lose and they win out.  And I think OK State should jump ND if they beat OU and then Baylor.

IMO Ohio State only gets in with utter chaos ahead of them now.  Like at least three of the five teams ahead of them (other than UGA) lose.

Who is the best team UGA has played this year? I’m not trying to throw shade, the eye test is good enough for me with them, but I’m not convinced they’re going to waltz in the semis.

Don’t know but if Lawrence was still at Clemson, they beat Georgia no problem in the first week.

None of the wins look awesome in hindsight (Clemson, Arkansas, Kentucky all top ~10 when they played), but the point differential is 488-83.  That defense is GOAT level insane.

Unless they turn the ball over a bunch I don't think anyone can score on them.

Their defense is pretty much all the eye test you need.

Definitely a generational defense. Looking through it UK and Tennessee are probably the two best offenses, and they didn’t do much against UGA. I think they’ll beat Bama but I am interested to see if Bama can move the ball at all. I hope they get Cincy as I think that’ll be the best offense in the playoff, but Cincy looks like the 3 seed to me. One-loss Big 12 or ND at 4, which will not be worth watching.

So with Stroud looking good but tOSU losing and now Bryce Young looking especially average, who wins the friggin Heisman?

ive never seen a year with so much blah to choose from. Usually we have 3-5 really solid candidates and this year feels like there really aren’t any.

It’s almost like it’s better if you just come up with a system where you can decide it with actual football games instead of a debate contest. Weird.

Still Stroud.  His "bad game" was nearly 400 and 2 tds.  Wasn't his fault the D couldn't stop the run.

4th and a yard to stay alive for a title and you blow it. Not sure there’s anything Bama can do now, even next week.
